Translator's Note

It’s Chinese New Year for Indonesians, which started with those of Chinese descent but has started to spread, as all fun holidays do. https://www.officeholidays.com/holidays/indonesia/chinese-new-year

Translator's Note

The Chinese yo-yo that you’ve almost certainly seen before. If you’ve ever seen them in a traditional circus or opera performance, they can get really impressive.

  1. Oh man I can’t WAIT for the religion realisation. It’s going to be so funny to watch Zhou Xiwei flounder about that one. Anyway thanks for the chapter! This one was so sweet!

  2. ya know i also wondered about the questions zhou xiwei had at the start but then i was “if i think about it it’s a magical island, stop trying to search logic in it for now and just enjoy the story” who knows maybe we’ll get some answers later but now i actually don’t mind if we don’t (though my curiosity will never be satisfied 🥹)

  3. So beautiful! And it sets a lovely precedent for having other celebrations to look forward to throughout the year. The calligraphy was a great example of lost skills these two brothers might have been taking for granted.
