Voice Of Another ChanceChapter 45

When evening came, Kyosuke found himself unable to shake off the confusion he felt regarding the meeting he had with Kyota earlier that day. Above all else, he felt indignant for having his feelings and wishes ignored so cruelly.

Luckily, Sato had brought home some interesting news, helping Kyosuke to take his mind off of what happened earlier in Kyota’s office. wIBZbe

“So, the filming is finally closing to an end?” Kyosuke raised both eyebrows.

He was munching on some snacks while lazing on the sofa in the living room. Sato was sitting cross-legged on the floor facing him. A dazzling smile appeared on his beautiful face as he replied.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

“En. There are a few more scenes and after that it’s over. We will hold a ceremony after the last scene is done.”

“Ooh, that’s awesome!” Kyosuke clapped in excitement, grinning from ear to ear. “You’ve done it, Sato! You’ve finished your first project in a year and a half!” then, thinking of something he added with enthusiasm. “This is a cause for celebration.” MVnWQp

“There will be an afterparty after the ceremony is over, though.” Sato gazed pensively at a fixed point on the wall. “Asakura-san said he booked a restaurant for that evening and that I can invite whomever I want. Of course, I would like you to come. And maybe even Kyota-san…”

“No!” Kyosuke cut him off sharply, flaying his hands around like an angry chicken. His reaction was so big, that he almost rolled off the sofa. “That person is not allowed to come!” he huffed.

“What? Why?” Sato tilted his head in confusion.

“Because he is a cold bastard and doesn’t deserve to celebrate, that’s why! He can just sit there in his icy tower and gaze at us mere mortals with contempt as much as he wants!”

“That’s not a nice thing to say about our Director. What happened? Did you two quarrel again?” Sato inquired knowingly.

“Well, even if that was true, I don’t like the way he’s going about it. Always pushing me around, ignoring my opinions and forcing me to do stuff I don’t like. So what if I am feeling uncomfortable that I could almost die, right? As long as I give him good results, what does any of that matter, isn’t that so?” Kyosuke huffed, landing a punch on the sofa beside him. 4LT37X

Sato sighed and shook his head. There was no use in trying to get between these two stubborn people. One had a short fuse and would flare up from almost anything. Kyosuke would bristle and hiss like an angry cat that got its tail stepped on.

Meanwhile, the other’s attitude was cold and deep like a lake during winter. Nothing could be seen through the mirror-like surface, but there was no doubt that its depths were filled with unknown and mysterious things.

“By the way.” Kyosuke’s voice pulled Sato out of his musing. “When will you stop calling that person Asakura-san?”

“Eh? When did this conversation become about me?” Sato blinked his eyes, looking profusely mystified at the abrupt change of subject. OZEGy

“I don’t know. I just find it disturbing.” Kyosuke shrugged, leaning back on the sofa, calmly resuming his munching.

Sato noticed that his cousin appeared to have calmed down from his earlier upsurge of emotions. His anger really had a special power; it was quick to appear and just as quick to recede.

Putting away his amazement regarding Kyosuke’s ability to shift his emotions as easily as turning the pages of a book, Sato carefully pondered on his words.

“Why is it disturbing? That’s his name, isn’t it?” 5HB8rT

“Yeah, but…” Kyosuke scratched the back of his head. “You guys are lovers now, right? Shouldn’t you be calling each other something else?”

“Like what exactly?” Sato had a bad feeling about it, but still couldn’t stop himself from asking.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

“Well, I don’t know. He calls you by your last name, so I guess the problem is you.” Kyosuke mused out loud. “How about calling him Ryuu-san? Or better yet, just Ryuu. Of course, you can take it even a step further and go for a sweet nickname, like Baby or Darling.” Kyosuke finished with a shrug.

Hearing this, Sato choked on air. He knew Kyosuke would say something like that. Calling Asakura by his given name wouldn’t be that strange. After all, they have been together for a while so he should probably stop addressing the man so politely. But Asakura never seemed to mind that. It was as if he wanted to allow Sato to get used to their relationship first. He was willing to wait until Sato felt comfortable enough to call him more intimately.  2N8k7e

However, going past names and directly jumping to Baby and Darling was just too huge of a step for Sato’s poor heart.

In the end, Sato ignored Kyosuke’s embarrassing suggestions and they talked about something else.

Right before they went to bed, Sato remembered something and turned to Kyosuke.

“Kyosuke, did you notice something strange when you left the house today?” EJOZGv

“Something strange? Like what?” Kyosuke was puzzled.

“En. Did you notice a person acting strange or see anyone lurking around our building?”

“What?” Kyosuke’s eyes flew wide open. “No. I didn’t see anything like that. But I was too hurried when I left and I might have missed it. Did something happen? Is someone following you?” he asked worriedly.

“I don’t know.” Sato spoke in a low voice. WO0bSV

A moment later, he knitted his eyebrows and pressed his lips together. He felt troubled, but decided not to continue the subject. It was true that lately he had the strange sensation that someone was watching him. However, no matter how much he paid attention, he could never find the culprit. It was both strange and disturbing.

‘Perhaps I am just imagining things. Might be due to overexertion. The past couple of weeks haven’t been easy and my resting hours have been all over the place. Luckily, Kyosuke had an easier schedule and could cook, otherwise I wouldn’t even have been able to eat properly.’

With that, Sato pushed the troubling thoughts away from his mind and went to rest. He had another scene to shoot early in the morning and he needed sleep.

Just as the light in his room went off, outside, a dark silhouette came out from behind a tree.  SKcIYe

It stood in front of the building and stared upward at Sato’s window. Based on the height and build, it appeared to be a man. Surrounded by the shadows, no one could see whether he was smiling or frowning, nor could it be determined whether he was young or old.

After staring at the dark window for a few minutes, making sure the lights wouldn’t be turned on again, the mysterious person let out a low chuckle and turned around to leave. Before he could take a single step, a fancy black car stopped right next to him. He opened the door in the back and entered, then the car drove off quickly.

Immediately afterwards, a pair of silhouettes came out from a bush across the street. The two men stood still on the side of the road staring quietly after the black car.

“We should tell Big Boss about this.” One of the men spoke suddenly, his voice sounding gruff. nZLMkF

“Mn. He’ll be pissed as heck when he finds out about this.” The other one replied in a deep voice.

Then the two men simultaneously turned to look at each other, before nodding their heads in agreement. A moment later, they too disappeared into the night.
