  1. woah….. I can feel the tense.. jing shao u really lucky this time, your wang fei will cover u up no matter what. I really wish you two will have a happy good life

  2. Mu Hanzhang is so nice, out here attributing Rui Wangfei’s rudeness to being distracted by worry. I can’t believe she’s so “concerned” about her son but didn’t even care to look through what Mu Hanzhang gave her properly, she’s a horrible parent, too. This isn’t what love looks like, it’s jealousy, and my estimation of her falls lower every day. I do love to see the Huainan King properly throwing in his lot with our boys, and I hope they’ll be able to handle the emperor’s arrival! It’s good the fourth prince was too cautious to mention Jing Shao in relation to the Huainan King. I have to wonder, though, if there might be some connection to the emperor also thinking Jing Shao might adopt a child, given the chapter specifically brought up again that it wouldn’t be possible while the emperor lives. Maybe he thought Jing Shao wanted to try again for the throne and the Huainan King is part of that…anyway, hopefully it’s an issue easily dispelled

Thank you so much for translating! <3

    • This dumb whore is making want to slam my head against the wall!!! That’s his nephew!!! You ignorant bitch!!! He has a good relationship with his husband’s brother and is genuinely concerned about his (Rui Wang’s) child and is trying to help.

    • Indeed. I mean I get it that as a mother, its really not easy to give your son away just like that (seriously what was Rui Wang thinking anyway ).

However, regardless of Rui Wangs plan, I never remembered the Cheng Wang couple actually agreeing on this arrangement. Seriouly Rui Wangfei is just thinking too much, and I kind of feel sad for her, she just gave birth but Rui Wang is not giving her the attention she needs. I mean, she is probably suffering postpartum right now, It’s not even easy gosh.

  3. Gods I adore the relationships here. Trust needs to be built and proven over time, so I can’t blame Gu Huaiquing for testing and testing Jing Shao’s character and allegiances. But I laughed that apparently Jing Shao is quite strong, if even the Huainan King runs away in fear of being hit. xD Keep training diligently, you’ll probably need it sooner or later!

Big brother’s wife proves to be more and more dissappointing. And the more high strung she gets, the more likely it is that she’s going to do something dumb and dangerous… like complaining to the emperor or exchanging babies or falling for some fraud or doing something to Mu Hanzhang’s baby brother?

I want big brother to come and rectify this before it becomes a problem, but then again I sense some ~tension~ between him and the Huainan King. It’s a BL novel after all… but is the crown prince available?

Love the story, thanks for the translation and read you next time!

      • Right. Rui Wang had been benevolent enough to discuss it. Usually, the mother can only obey. Rui Wang had said it is only suggestion on his part, he haven’t utter a peep to Cheng Wang, so she is free to say her piece. But then she is acting like Jun Qing is the one wanting her son so badly. No one wanted to snatch the son away. Jing Chen had discussed it, she said “NO”, Jing Chen then accepted it. What is the issue?! Since the beginning, she had been portrayed as one nasty being. She is rude to Jun Qing, suspicious of Jing Shao, now she even had the heart to curse a healthy shu son just because her di son is ill? When she as the mother isn’t even whole heartedly trying to cure him? If she does, she would realise the rare medicinal herbs sent by Jun Qing.
      • Exactly. People are talking as if he decided it behind her back and never talked with her. It was literally stated that he PROPOSED the option of giving the baby away to her. He never decided to give the baby away and did it behind her back. Also, he’s taking what she wants in consideration, because when he’s reprimanding her for being rude with Hanzhang, he says with all the words that “I told you that if you don’t want to do it, you don’t have to give the baby away”. They DISCUSSED it beforehand, and he respected her decision when she didn’t want to do it.

  4. I hope Jing Shao will be able to dispel the emperor’s suspicions. That pesky fourth prince! Spying on his brothers all day long instead of doing something constructive, isn’t he ashamed of himself? 😡

Thank you for the chapter 💕

    • Well, I do not like to say this, but the Fourth Prince is actually right to do so. ^^ Being in charge of the Ministry of Justice and knowing by an informant that the Huainang King is in the capital, when he should not, it IS his duty to capture him and bring him to the Emperor… Even more if it means that he should keep an eye on his two hated brothers of him and bring trouble to them. OMG, I am defending the fourth prince! Please, do not hate me! It is just the legal expert in me speaking 😆

PS: I know that you just intended to vent out your frustration about this 4th prince always bringing trouble to Jing Shao (especially him ^^) and Jing Chen, and that you understood that he has the right to do so. As I said, it is just the legal expert in me speaking 😂

      • Formally speaking, it’s his job to enforce the law. Yet, I have a sneaking suspicion that the fourth prince is rather… selective about his law-enforcement activities. He kicked up a fuss this time since it was a chance for him to bring down Jing Shao and Jing Chen. If Gu Huaiqing’s visit to the capital had been in Jing Yu’s interests, I believe the prince would’ve turned a blind eye. On the surface Jing Yu is doing his duty while in reality he’s using his position for his own personal gain.

        • I totally agree. However, of course he is selective : it is the moment to fight for the throne and everyone uses everyone. If Jing Chen was responsible for the Ministry of Justice, and he had discovered a crime done by Jing Shao, he would hide it ^^ Officials always help their allies, it is how it functions. In my first comment, I was answering your comment which said that Jing Yu should do something constructive : he is, because he is doing his job, even though he selects when and how to do it 😂

          • Let’s agree to differ 🙂 Striving to become the next emperor while a) being ill-equipped for the job and b) trying to pull down a much more suitable candidate is NOT constructive (at least, not in my book)

          • Ha ha ha! I understand your point, but here is how I see the situation. By informing and trying to catch the Huainan King, Jing Yu is doing something constructive for the country (for once), as he does his job, and for himself. However, I agree with you that it is not something which is long-term constructive for the country ^^ Even so, what else can he do? If he does not become the next emperor, he will be in a difficult position since he has a bad relationship with Jing Chen and Jing Shao, and it is not much better with the first prince, so… He can only strive for the position (even though he is not made for the job).

Just for fun (I mean no harm) : what would you consider as “doing something constructive” for him? He is not described as very skilled in warfare, so it would be a bad idea to put him on a battlefielf. He selects when to correctly do his work, so he should not be at the head of any ministry… What else can he do? Personally, I don’t see anything ^^

    • WOOOOOOOW I was actually holding my breath and whispering “oh sh*t! ” while reading this entire chapter…. when duo fu said the emperor was waiting inside it felt just like when someone (specially ur parents) look at u with a serious face and say they need to talk! Sir! In a ten seconds break u think of all the things u did in ur life and what could’ve possibly gone wrong! Damn it’s scary O.O’ huff I anxiously excited for the next x)

THANK U SO MUCH FOR THE CHAPTER!

      I’m loving it <3

  5. The moment I read that the emperor was waiting for Jing Shao in the study… I felt this oppressing feeling that you have when your head of the school or your employer calls you for a meeting, alone with you. You start thinking about all the bad things you could have done before (even though you are the quiet girl of the class and you have never done anything wrong) 😂

I love Gu Huaiqing, he is just so funny all the time, even when he speaks about a death or life matter.

    Thank you for the translation!

  6. aaaaah you cannot just leave it at such a cliffhanger!! its a real concern that MHZ will be self sacraficing based off what happened in the past life. maybe this is foreshadow for even more selflessness in the future and its fine now or maybe its full on

  7. The Huainan King is that friend of yours that just puts you in danger and acts like it’s nothing heuheuehe

Jing Shao is lucky that his Wang Fei is not brainless like Rui Wang’s Fei. Poor Jing Chen

  8. Gu Huaiquing is sooooooo thirsty lmao 😂 Jing Chen, divorce that shrew and make an honest man out of our sweet jelly bean 😍 so cuuuuuuuteeeeeeeee!

  9. I’m mad at Jing Chen’s wife, like I get that you don’t want to give away your son but shouldn’t you trust your husband’s character? Like if he asked you and you said no, why can’t you trust that he won’t make you. At the same time, I’m thinking it’s her attitude that’s making her son sick, which is why medication isn’t really working. Babies can pick up on your feelings towards them, especially if it’s something negative. Hope she gets figured out before she does something that will make things harder for Jing Chen.

  10. What a cliffhanger, and one that might last a few chapters! Dan-dan Mein, Thanks for the translation.

3.- JS, solo hazle caso a JQ y juega bien tus piezas.

  12. Is the Huainan king in love with Jing Chen? He kept saying he came to meet his beloved, and Jing Chen seems dissatisfied with his future empress,,,, just some food for thought
