The Black Saint is My StalkerCh136 - This arrangement

Han Li woke up cold. T0 lgQ

There was no warm spot next to him, no evidence that Graham had shared the bed with him and it left him feeling hollow. His body was sore in odd places and Han Li felt nauseous, genuinely hungover, despite the fact that it should have been impossible with his demon blood.

Groggily, he dragged his feet out of bed. The wooden floor was chilled and Han Li shivered despite usually being impassive to the cold.

Did…Graham leave? Was the penthouse empty? Had he gone on another mission, perhaps?

But that couldn’t be. Graham wasn’t the type to leave without a word, no that was Han Li’s shtick. Yv3WCd

Feeling unusually heavy, Han Li lumbered out of the master bedroom and was hit with relief when the fresh smell of breakfast wafted to his nose. Butter, bacon, and toast surely awaited him. Energized, he skipped down the stairs and found Graham in the kitchen.

The Saint of Eternity donned a deep navy shirt, something a little different from his usual, stifling black attire. But the jeans he wore were still dark, and so was the grey apron that rested over the front of his body.

“Ah, you’re wake. Just in time.” Graham smiled at him. He took the sizzling pan off the stove. The bacon smelled heavenly, with toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage too. It was not too different from the breakfasts he had back in Britia, Han Li realized.

Licking his salivating lips, Han Li took his usual seat at the kitchen counter where Graham would serve him his breakfast.

Wasn’t he acting a bit spoiled?

Han Li mulled over the thought while he watched Graham push the plate of food in his direction, with utensils neatly placed atop the plate. He didn’t even have to lift a pinkie finger and Graham would treat him like a king.

“Thanks Grams…” he muttered between yawning.

It was always like this. Whenever Han Li was back home and shared the penthouse with Graham between missions, the Saint of Eternity would pamper him to death. And part of Han Li tried to get used to this, tried to get used to Graham tending to him, taking care of him, as though he were akin to some cute pet. pVKlrh

Because it was roaring in his chest, like a wild mare running with the wind; badump. Badump. Badump.

Unable to ease his desire any longer, Han Li looked up and was caught off guard when his eyes met with Graham’s. The Saint of Eternity had been staring, sitting on the opposite Han Li. His visage was caught in tranquility, but he wasn’t smiling. And though the intensity of his gaze was enough to pierce right through Han Li’s soul, his mind appeared to be absent.

Han Li felt numb. He wet his lips and pretended like everything was normal. With a casual tone, he asked, “You’re not eating?” ENP5k

Graham flinched, as though waking from whatever dream he was caught within. His unreadable expression did not disappear but he nodded in response. “I’m fine. I ate earlier.”

“…Oh. I see.”

Silence settled between them and Han Li continued to eat. There was something heavy in the air and Han Li couldn’t put a name to it. It ate away at him, like a disease festering in his bones.

It was not unusual for the two to share moments of silence as such but they were usually comforting, if not stirring up Han Li’s longing. And the moment the telltale gnaw of longing was upon him, Han Li would make arrangements for his next mission. qtUL38

Han Li suddenly felt the need to look at his phone, to browse the Hunter’s Network for jobs so he could find the next big thing, or nag John Right to provide him with what he sorely needed.

But before Han Li was able to fish for his phone, Graham’s voice caught his attention, like a lulling melody that wormed into his heart and caught him a rabbit in a snare. “Han Li.”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

He perked up. And found that Graham’s eyes were still on him, those piercing dark orbs of his that never failed to capture Han Li’s attention. “Are you feeling alright?”

“…Yeah, I’m fine.” Han Li sounded like a broken record, saying those words over and over again. He wasn’t fine. Sometimes he felt that Graham could see right through him. En41f5

But the Saint of Eternity’s expression didn’t change. His gaze was still breathtakingly soft. “How is your body?”

“…” Han Li shifted uncomfortably, his stomach twisted into knots. An awful bout of nausea took hold but he smiled like the imbecile that he was. “I’m just fine, my dude. Honestly. You don’t need to worry about me so much, Grams. I’m a big boy now, aren’t I?” He added a cheeky wink for good measure. Han Li hated it when Graham worried about him because he loved it equally as much.

“…” Graham was quiet for a moment, observing him with rapt interest. Han Li was so cute, seriously so adorable that Graham wanted to lean in and bite his cheeks. Only it felt a bit childish, so he practiced self reservation. There were times Graham attributed the distance that Han Li wedged between them as some sort of personality quirk, like a cat that didn’t enjoy being pet for too long. He had met plenty of similar people in his lifetime, with boundaries that they hated crossed.

But now, the Saint of Eternity was beginning to wonder, did the boundaries exist out of Han Li’s preference, or were they there before for other reasons? NgqzlS

Did Han Li not trust him?

Did he think that Graham wouldn’t be able to see his discomfort?

A sour feeling welled in Graham’s heart. And suddenly he felt like he was losing a battle that he didn’t know was being fought. How absurd. But he was an old soul, and old souls did not have many fears when it came to dealing with emotions. It was just that sometimes, he could be a little slow. After all, an immortal’s perception of time was one that was painfully skewed. For once, Graham couldn’t afford to waste any more of it.

So he said, “Han Li. We should talk.” P9Iqb

Han Li paused, startled a little. He swallowed and nodded. “What about?”

“You and I.”

“…Huh?” Han Li’s entire body went cold. He had no idea why. He didn’t understand. What was there to talk about?

Graham chuckled at his heart’s confusion. How could he be so adorable even now? With confusion on his face and a piece of scrambled egg stuck to the side of his mouth. Graham reached out and wiped Han Li’s face, plucking the piece of egg stuck to his cheek. “Do you have plans today?” CHyjM7

“…N-No?” Han Li stuttered, still confused. Still shocked.

“Then finish eating first. Don’t worry too much about it.”

“…” Wasn’t there a saying somewhere? The more you told someone not to worry, the more worried they’d become. Han Li scowled, unable to stop his fidgeting, unable to stop the anxiety that festered inside of him. What could Graham wish to talk about? That pertained to the two of them?

Han Li thought of the night before, the strange tension, the forced distance, and Graham’s cold gaze. The memory made him shudder. But it shouldn’t, should it? That shouldn’t change anything between them. There was nothing between them in the first place. Nothing but camaraderie and friendship. And sometimes a little bit of touching, a bit of fun after dark. It didn’t mean anything. It shouldn’t… 0YhNC

Han Li scowled at his food. No matter how delicious Graham’s cooking was, it did nothing to solve his wilting appetite. So he pushed the plate away and folded his arms over the counter, trying to imitate nonchalance. “I’m full. Thanks for the meal Grams. So what did you want to talk about?”

The Saint of Eternity frowned, ever so slightly when he saw the food unfinished. But the expression was brief and he donned that smile once more, that one that made Han Li’s stomach churn. “Are you sure? Hm. Alright. Then allow me to ask you about the night prior.”

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Han Li bristled immediately, his heart worked overtime and he felt numb from head to toe. “The incubus,” he said, at that point, the words were coming out before he even had the time to think. “You mean when I was being charmed by that piece of shit’s power—“ His countenance twisted, the familiar thrum of rage pooled in his belly.

Was Graham making assumptions? MktruY

How dare he…!

Graham reeled a little, startled when Han Li took his words so badly. He gathered himself, trying to relax to seem nonthreatening. No, Graham had no intention of accusing his heart, why would he do such a thing? His brows furrowed, struggling to find the right words, the right sentences. It was infuriatingly difficult.

“I understand, Han Li. I did not mean to imply otherwise—”

“Then what?” Han Li snapped, his head was swimming. Miasma surrounded him. The hunger returned. He didn’t even know why he was getting all angry. “You’re getting all pissy because I almost fucked an incubus?” cnBsE0

Han Li. I’m not getting ‘pissy’. Please.” Graham’s hands curled into fists. It took everything to hold himself back. He didn’t want to get into a fight with Han Li. That was truly the last of his intentions. But Graham needed to speak his mind, regardless of the consequences. So he did just that. “Did you want to sleep with him? The incubus.”

Han Li wasn’t thinking. He was good at not thinking, spewing out this and that like a fool without a grip on himself. “What of it?”

Graham needed to make sure that his intentions were clear, even if it would anger Han Li. He spoke without missing a beat. “If that is the case then let’s stop.”

“…” Han Li opened his mouth but no words came out. What was Graham talking about? duDwVs

Graham had this uncanny knack for reading Han Li’s mind. When Han Li didn’t say anything in response, the Saint of Eternity elaborated. “Let us cut off this arrangement between us.”

  1. 🔪🔪🔪🩸💔🩸

Han Li’s over reaction, subconsciously feeling guilty?

Thank you in advance for the upcoming chapter where you make this all better

  2. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH WHAT WITH THE CLIFFANGHER ?????

Obviously, everything WILL be fine but how many chapters will it take ???

    RAAAAAA those two idiots !

  3. I still think that that salty caramel scent is something or contains something that messes up with pepople’s minds. And since it’s disguised with such a sweet scent is even more devilish. GJ Val!

As much as I’m really anxious about their relationship right now and how this situation might make Han Li even more vulnerable (to all schemes), I know that Han Li must own up to his feelings because what he just said about it being ‘camaraderie’ and nothing more was utterly ridiculous. So now I’m actually expecting some thunderstorm in the next chapter because of this thunder class cliffhanger.

Fingers crossed for Han Li finally being hnest with himself and Graham (which might take a while and a lot of drama).

    Thank you for the chapter!!!

    • WAHHH T___T I’m sorry!!! It’s seriously good I swear…

  5. Val… I never thought I would feel this bad for Graham… I truly feel bad for his EQ and how old and slow he is and how he cant get his point across because he is ancient and emotionally deficient..

but I still wanna see him cry..

    thanks for the chapter <3

    • TT___TT he’s trying but trying in his perspective might just not be enough in the grand scheme of things

…i feel like everyone wants to see him cry o w o
