The Black Saint is My StalkerCh110 - I’m here

Edited by dreamandwonder

Desire demons circled the site, their sleek bodies cut through the wind stalking grounds at the highest efficiency. They were not the attackers; for their master was a hunter, surveying the scene from her lofty position on the rooftop of the Edelstein Pillar. BiXteT

Leonie was so focused on her surveillance that she was unaware of the iridescent pool that began to form behind her. To her credit, the pool emitted no light of its own, turning dark and bluish beneath the dreary Britian sky. Not even miasma could be detected from the iridescent mass.

There were others stationed atop the roof but they too were too busy with their eyes pointed to the streets below and neighboring rooftops to notice any disturbance.

Andraste rose, her demonic powers suppressed.

No one even noticed her until she drove her hand straight through Leonie’s chest. The sentinel, stunned, froze and coughed. Copper was in her mouth and she didn’t know why, but perhaps the bloodied hand that stuck through her chest might have given reason to her ails. TMr1IX

“O-oh,” she stuttered out, trying with the last of her breath to shout a warning into the radio before death came to claim her.

It was no use.

Andraste ripped out her heart in one swift motion and Leonie fell down, dead.

Five others, hunters and guardians, pointed their weapons at the prince. They cried orders and state the emergency into their microphones. But by then it was already too late.

A sadistic grin stretched the demoness’s lips. With but a flick of her wrist, dark flames erupted from her heels, a black halo formed atop her crown. “How foolish,” she chortled, “You little men and women have no hopes to match the likes of me.”

Black fire engulfed the rooftop whole, scorching anyone who dared to defy her power. One pesky little man braved the searing miasmic fire and closed in with a blessed dagger. But before he could even land a single blow, Andraste summoned her war-axe. With one swift motion, his head was severed from his body.

A sharp crack was heard; a sniper’s bullet traveled faster than the eye could see. Yet Andraste only flicked her wrist, catching the bullet between her thumb and index before it could pierce her skull. “How silly,” she laughed. But just then the piece of metal beeped and exploded into a cloud of divine mist.

Not enough to kill, or even injure a higher demon, but hopefully enough to slow her down. CD2rbl

Hunters and guardians mobilized, an organized assault concentrated on the rooftop. No one even knew how the higher demon appeared but there was no time for questions.

While chaos brewed, another pool of iridescent formed; this time inside the building on a nondescript floor that featured offices and laboratories.

More importantly, she was alone.

Aoibhinn didn’t know if she should feel the rumble of annoyance or not. But the truth was, she had not told her husband to wait for her.

He was simply to meet her at B13 when the time came. She was his wife, not his mother. And though Aoibhinn had never been a particularly controlling lover, her expression at that moment was dark, irritation rampant.

Scoffing at her own absurdity, she marched forward. Surely, her silly husband will wake from his reverie, as soon as she took care of this cold, concrete world that shackled him. sm9CWY

Aoibhinn went to work. With her druid’s staff, she called upon black roots that seeped across and through the tiled floor; forming a web of magic that spanned across the building like veins.

A battle raged atop the pillar. Andraste, the same prince that had wreaked havoc back in Darmine had been confirmed.

Helicopters ripe with hunters and guardians closed in. Trevor, eager for deployment, stood at the edge, eager to jump down to be part of the fight.

Except there was no fight on that rooftop; only a wash of black fire that enveloped anyone that dared approach. Trevor, much too eager, teetered dangerously at the edge of the helicopter. The miasma was thick but he was confident in his ability to disperse it. All he had to do was jump…! j9g5dQ

However, just as he was about to make his heroic leap, a hand came down on his shoulder and yanked him back. Oscar scowled at him, signaling his disapproval.

Although Trevor couldn’t hear the paladin over the helicopter’s roaring rotor, his lips were easy to read. “Wait.”

Trevor grimaced, complaint ready on his tongue. But before he could say anything, a loud boom thundered. The blast could be felt as debris flew about. One of the helicopters that rose above the rooftops burst into a bloom of smoke and fire, burning scraps tumbled to the ground, scraping the sides of buildings on its way down.

Trevor felt his heart roar in his chest, unable to tell the difference between fear and excitement. XA5J1f

Despite the wreckage, another helicopter approached the rooftop. A young girl stepped out, looking barely old enough to be an adult. Her hair dyed silver was stark in contrast to the night sky, but more importantly, there was a bright glow above her head, her eyes a dazzling gold. She held a rifle to her chest, but the weapon compared to her tiny body seemed abnormally large.

A saint, Trevor thought with distaste.

When she leaped from her aircraft, the air beneath her began to sparkle. Moisture drew from the air and formed an icy path that helped her descend with ease. Two more hunters deployed after her, each looking familiar from top hunter databases and Association-run magazines.

The silver-haired saint landed with dainty grace. A frosty mist doused the roaring black flames, revealing the demoness that stood quietly amid the carnage. dW2V9w

Trevor clicked his tongue, but it was then that he felt a pat on the back.

“Now,” Oscar mouthed, which caused the bigger man to roll his eyes.

The two of them leaped down, joining in the front lines against a single demon.

Andraste smiled, opening her arms in welcome. “I hope we have a wonderful time together, friends! May the strongest win with their life.” faM43B

While Trevor brimmed with energy and excitement, Oscar maintained a concentrated scowl on his face, his focus trained on the demoness that stood before them.

The truth was, he did not expect to leave this battle alive.

“Die, demon!” The little saint roared, her gun raised.

Andraste laughed and eagerly dashed forth. Black flames clashed with divine frost. 2jPhJE

While the battle raged, fire and debris fell from the skies. Luckily, citizens have all been evacuated, leaving only the hunters and guardians to their work. Lesser demons had roused and joined in the fray as well. And though they did not pose even a fraction of the threat that brewed on the rooftop, it kept the ground forces occupied.

Han Li slipped past the battle, stalking through the shadows as if a criminal. Luckily, the guard that saw to a side entrance was busy with a nearby foe.

There was a scanner that asked for both his ID and his handprint but Han Li merely stood there and touched the earring that dangled from his ear. YjJAhB

‘I’m here.’

He waited. And waited, watching three guys take on a single raging wrath demon. The miasma in the air was already starting to thicken and the itch under his skin. Where was Graham? Why wasn’t he responding? Was everything just a fever dream—

‘Wait. Give me a moment.’

The group of hunters had the wrath demon pinned; blessed weapons and incantations sizzled into its demonic body and when they were done, those hunters would likely return to post. g186cV

‘Hurry up…please? Things are kinda getting iffy here.’

The door clicked open. Han Li let out a breath of relief and stepped inside. By the time the guard returned his post, there was nothing out of the ordinary.

Han Li stepped inside a dark narrow hall that led to another door at the opposite end. Graham wore that absurd mask and turned his back almost as quickly as he opened the door.

“Come, this way.” XiDrxj

“…Right,” Han Li nodded, not quite understanding the awkwardness that he felt brewing in his heart, hating the way that he kept trying to steal gazes at the Saint of Eternity, praying that he might take off that ridiculous mask.

Graham led him to the emergency stairwell that descended down into the spiral of darkness. “It will be more discreet going down this way. I hope that you do not mind.”

“…It’s fine,” Han Li wasn’t about to let some stairs daunt him. His heart, however, was a different story.

“…” Graham nodded and descended first. Nothing but the thundering echo of their footfalls sounded. Aside from the simmering miasma and the blinking sound-sensitive lights that followed them down their descent, everything else was still and quiet. It was almost difficult to imagine the chaotic battle that unfolded outside, or what they were about to confront in the Pillar’s basement. 73hTvd

They descended the stairs in silence until the telling sign of B13 hung above a nondescript door.

“Thank you for coming, Han Li,” Graham sighed.

Eagerly, Han Li responded, “Of course. Why wouldn’t I?”

Author: ; w ; while reading the comments for the last chapter I noticed that there seemed to be some confusion with the character developments in this arc. So let me explain a bit more clearly? dzVFLK

Graham did not wish to involve Han Li in this entire mess because Han Li would only get hurt, is it Graham problem to deal with and not Han Li’s. Not to mention under normal circumstances Han Li isn’t allowed to travel outside of Merriva. It had nothing to do with betraying anyone or anything. Graham was never 100% allied with Aoibhinn and Andraste, because he couldn’t justify their actions. But he was playing along because he wouldn’t be able to take both of them on by himself and wasn’t inclined to ask for outside help because of fixation and feelings to Aoibhinn. So in a sense, while he knew that she was evil, he was still very protective of her, and also a part of him believed it was his personal problem that he alone had to deal with.

P-please have some faith in me ;-; …! This is not an arc where I’m trying to show Graham as some backstabbing, two-timing bastard. He just has a lot of things he needs to sort out.

  1. RIP Leonie , next up Trevor dying in a blaze mediocrity??

Dynamic Duo back together to fight! Waiting patiently for the 🍆🍆🍆 afterwards

  2. HanLi! You can do it!!!

Graham, you’ve never looked as sexy as you do now. Being all awkward and shy 🙈 😍😚🤗

Thank you Author, for another wonderful chapter. Can’t wait for the next one 💐💐💐

  3. she’s quite full of herself isn’t she? Aoibhinn is. Assuming and expecting Graham’s feelings to still be as strong 1000 years later. tsk.

and Andraste, too. She’s feeling all badass but literally had to go wake up Aoibhinn to help fight her fight.

Jiayou Han Li, kill them all.

    thanks for the chapter <3

  4. Rip Leonie, i guess she really wasn’t suited for this job

Hmpf!! I shall forgive Graham then

Thank you for the chapter!!! ❤️❤️

    • well she wasn’t a bad hunter necessarily but definitely had no place being a leader of any sort u_u

      thank you for reading!!

  5. ah, so you decided to kill Leonie….

also with Andraste there….it’s not even a fight, it’s just a massacre T_T

  6. Leonie – death by surprise, Trevor – death by Andraste (coming soon?) Oscar – I hope he’ll survive, because I like his matter-of-fact take-no-shit approach. I kind of think that there will be one less saint, or maybe this girl will survive, idk. Other hunters… well, do your best, I guess.

Is it ok, to say “have fun Andraste, until they come and sent you back”? I mean she still has to go back and tell Han Li’s demon daddy, how big his son already is (and how seriously he kicked his big sister’s arss, hopefully).

Grams and Han Li together again and in action. Go! You can do it!!! Graham is in a tight spot, but I guess he knows what needs to be done, and afterwords there is always a bashful little kitten named Han Li to help him recover.

    Thank you for the chapter!!!

    • LOL we’ll see what happens i guess– doesn’t really feel like an arc unless a few people kick the bucket u_u the reason why I have such a big cast in the first place is so that I few can go and none will know the difference(?)

weeee! action pew pew pew pow pow slash slash

  7. Atenta nota de lo que explicaste autora. Así lo venía entendiendo mas o menos. Me encanta la esctructura del personaje maduro…Vs el encanto del amor juvenil del demonio.
