The Black Saint is My StalkerCh103 - To match his zeal

Edited by dreamandwonder

The Heavenly Layer, 25th floor. Tension brewed to a boiling point. A bulbous black mass pulsed against tempered glass, unknown powers stewed within. And a shattered floor-to-ceiling window, villains escaped, yet no one paid the details mind. The hunters present were too enraptured in their own drama, blinded by their own folly. W6APNI

Chaos ensued.

Silver knuckles clashed against steel. “Trevor!” Leonie shouted, concern still evident in her large amber eyes. Her small form strained against Trevor’s towering body.

“Blasted bitch…!” he spat, veins bulging from his brow. His face, heated, brightened with telling red. And Han Li snickered, unable to quell the dark humor that roused from within. “What are you laughing at, demon prick!?”

Han Li couldn’t stop himself, chin pointed up, eyes shining with indignation. His lips quirked, arrogance blatant. “Oh nothing, just thought you looked hella ugly.” JSG4c9

“Y-You two!” Leonie could cry from exasperation alone.

Valtteri, poisoned by the dense concentration of demonic energies, lost his battle with unconsciousness. With a staggering step, he failed to steady himself, falling forward without ceremony.

“Val!” Oscar called, sprung forward to catch the fainting scout before he knocked his head against the ground only to make things worse. Thankfully, he was fast and caught the Northerner before he got a face full of shattered glass. His face pulled into a grimace, miasma dense enough to choke on and their fool of an exorcist wasn’t even doing his damned job, too preoccupied with dealing with his own damned ego.

And while the paladin wasn’t all very enthralled with having a threat as potent as this half-demon on his team, he also understood when a situation was getting out of hand.

“Aye, you lot done with being arsemongers? Or you just conveniently forget about the giant bomb sitting above our heads? And you,” Oscar addressed Han Li without ceremony or fear, just pointed apprehension that he did not bother to mask with his scowling expression. “Get out. I don’t care what Val was saying about you not being a total useless sod. You helped, that’s great. But right now, you’re just a detriment. That miasma isn’t doing anyone any favors so I’m asking you to kindly piss off.”

“…”

“Oscar!” Leonie chided, only to yelp. Turning her attention to the paladin had been a bad idea. Trevor capitalized on that instance, breaking the stalemate with a sudden shove that knocked their unsuspecting captain off balance. She stumbled, glass crunching beneath her feet.

Han Li watched the brutish imbecile out of the corner of his eyes but he was more interested in Oscar’s words. There was no animosity in his words, though blunt and cutting, no personal stakes despite his scrutiny. “Fine,” he said, taking a step backward. v4z0lA

Lyrchester’s night air was biting against his back, his hair mused from the gusting winds.

Leonie surged forward. But by then, Han Li had already stepped off the ledge. Gravity claimed him and pulled him down and he was free-falling, hair whipping against his face and heart thudding loudly in his chest. Maniacal laughter escaped his chest as he watched Leonie poke her head out of the shattered window, her shouting words lost to the wind.

Unconcerned, he took his time, allowing the fall to soothe the ache that bubbled in his gut. It didn’t really do much. Unfortunate, but unsurprising. With a sigh he called upon his flying sword, hopping on without much effort. And just like that, he disappeared from his teams’ sight.

Leonie backed away from the window frame, her hand accidentally clasped around broken glass, her palm dripped with blood. She felt dizzy and exhausted. When she looked around, she could hardly respond to what was going on.

Opposite to her stagnant blunder, Oscar was already on his phone, summoning their witchcraft expert and sorcerer to the site, all while moving Valtteri over to a cushioned bench where he could rest. He even managed to bark at Trevor and reel the asshole in line, getting him to exorcise some of the miasma causing Valtteri’s illness. QiXTLV

In contrast, Leonie only stood there frozen and stared.

“Captain.”

She didn’t even register the fact that she was being called.

“Leonie. Mrs. Davis!” zM1fX5

“Huh?” Blinking absently, she realized with mild confusion that Oscar had appeared right in front of her. How curious…! A lazy smile stretched her lips. “Yes? What is it?”

Oscar opened his mouth. Only to close it. A strange aggravated expression was on his face but Leonie didn’t allow herself to feel daunted, preserving her pleasant demeanor despite everything.

The paladin clicked his tongue. “Go and search for the Crimson Witch’s tracks. There might be residual energies lying around, or other clues to her whereabouts.”

“Oh!” the petite woman perked up, “You’re right. I ought to go do that. Thank you!” XvdRW

Without a single breath of complaint, Leonie picked up her equipment and made for the stairwell, likely heading to the rooftop, where her abilities could be used to their fullest.

The elevators sounded at almost the same time and Oscar let out a long sigh, ruffling his hair before strutting across the hall to meet the specialists that were called upon earlier.

Someone had to deal with the real issues at hand.

Han Li knew exactly where to go.

Just two blocks north of the Edelstein Pillar, there was a residential district that sat largely undisturbed by the commotion that night. With quaint little apartments lining each side of narrow streets, it wasn’t exactly the most wealthy of neighborhoods. Nevertheless, it was quiet enough, especially in the claustrophobic alleyways hidden away from the main roads.

It was in one of these dark and damp little alleys that Han Li found his quarry. His instincts blared loudly, eyes darting around the narrow path. Acidic piss and other foul scents clouded his nose and there was but a dim light that flickered from the main road, faint rays barely reaching the stretching darkness.

Han Li took two steps into the shadow, his eyes, still human in appearance, strained to keep their form. It would be so much easier if just called upon his demonic powers… YsQmDn

But perhaps, it was his quarry that found him first.

A gloved hand reached out from the shadows, catching the scuff of his collar. Han Li, startled, was thrown into the closest wall. Whiplash had his skull bashing into brick, a headache rang, causing him to grit his teeth. Two golden eyes, glowing ever so slightly behind a black mask.

The figure seemed to meld with the shadows.

“What are you doing here?” The tone, abrasive, left no room for patience or any manner of sympathy. 4ELaeM

Bitterness mixed with the raging headache that wreaked havoc in Han Li’s mind. “Hahaha! Hi to you too, I guess!” With a flash of a toothy grin, he kicked back the offending weight that trapped him so. The alleyway’s narrow opening lent no kindness and without much effort, Han Li slammed his assailant into the opposing wall.

But the black-clad figure did not relent easily. Retaliation came with an uppercut to the stomach, knocking all air out of Han Li’s lungs. An oppressive shock of holy energy stunned him, making him double over. He staggered, but there wasn’t much room to go anywhere.

Another punch came, aimed at his face. Han Li flinched, barely managing to catch the offending wrist, but his strength faltered and when the wrist jerked, it also pulled him forward.

The two stood frozen, chest to chest. 9go8qf

A gloved hand reached up, taking the mask off and tossing the offending item away. Graham glared at him, and Han Li, with vibrant red eyes, could see through the veil of darkness with ease. The Saint of Eternity scowled, contempt contorting his features.

Even now, Han Li found himself stupidly, helplessly dazzled by this person’s appearance alone. For there was something so utterly striking about him; those narrowed eyes and pupils dark glowing gold, wind mussing curled locks. The high-nose bridge, thick, furrowed brows, and lips pulled into a taut line.

“Han Li,” he hissed, spat. “Explain yourself right at this moment!”

The half-demon laughed. In the end, no matter how striking Graham might look, it did not change his terrible personality! Which really raised the question: J0dI6x

Why did Han Li’s heart hurt so fucking much?

“I don’t owe you shit!” he growled, a bestial glint present in his reddened eyes.

To match his zeal, a bright glowing halo appeared behind the Saint of Eternity’s crown. Graham, his stellar composure forgotten, hissed with avid rage, “You should not be here.”

“Well, fuck you too.” phc6Y5

Holy energy mixed with demonic miasma.

Han Li didn’t even know who it was that threw the first punch.

but the chapter is good, the drawing is good.

    thanks for the chapter <3

  3. Yeah, why not, first beat and tire each other out then talk. AND I hope Graham (I’m still drooling over that pic) will explain himself, because it’s not Han Li who needs to explain himself but him, Graham Assholely!

I hope Valtteri survives the miasma surge. Also, I like Oscar and his matter-of-fact approach. He is the only one who apparently is competent enough to lead in this team. Now, I’m off to read so hot stuff.😍Thank you for the chapter!!!

    • Ahahha! Oscar can be a dick but he’s also probably the most level-headed out of the bunch, with a clear sense of purpose and getting shit done u_u
      thank you for reading!!! glad you liked the drawing ;w ;

    I was joking, i am ಠ_ಠ

Thank you for the chapter!!! ❤️❤️

    • Now that I think about it, this could be a ploy by the higher ups. They ordered our Grandpa here to bewitch the Crimson Witch (no pun intended 😉). So that whatever happens next, will happen. Sorry, run out of fuel to charge my brain. I may have to take, something mortals called sleep… Yeah honestly, I don’t want to.
