  1. I have to applaud the author for making the marriage interaction seem very natural. Like, in the past, as long as the party involved is wise, mature, and responsible, when they’re married to others, they will automatically acknowledge them as their own person, hence intimacy or close interaction is something married couples deem to be “natural”, no matter if the love is in the air or not.

Therefore, it got me exasperated when other authors wrote the interaction of married couple in a historical setting, to be like, a 14 or 13 years old shy and childish romance, the kind of those when the husband would not dare to touch the wife’s hand if they hadn’t “realize” they’re in love yet, lol.

  2. So sweet 🤧

“Lou Jing stared at Xiao Chengjun in surprise. This was the first time the Crown Prince had called him by his courtesy name” Don’t he called him this before? Or am I drunk-

    • I don’t think he’s actually called him by any name? Which is actually similar to real life! Most of the time if it’s just you and another person, you won’t call out their name, you’ll just talk to them. If someone kept using my name in casual conversation to me, I’d wonder if they were okay 😆

  3. They’re so cute but I’m surprised he trusts the crown Prince so fast usually you keep one card hidden until you know each other really well or a couple years have passed😬

  4. When will the phase of dog food spreading come? It seems to be in the near future ma? Quick, quick, I’m starving~ ♡

  5. The empress is such a sweetheart. Xiao Chengjun is not his son by blood (in fact, the crown prince is the son of some concubine with the emperor who has always disrespected him on all ways possible), but he seems to genuinely love and care about the boy he raised. He also seems to be doing all in his power so the person he chose to marry his son won’t end up having the same fate as his, with a husband who won’t even respect his status in the househood. The only parent in this book until now who’s really worthy of being called a father.
