I tried very hard but I didn’t understand the first phrase in this para, which is: 上报三重恩，下济三途苦. It’s a Buddhist teaching, but after reading through a few websites, I still didn’t understand it. The correct phrasing seems to be 上报四重恩，下济三涂苦, actually. Have a read here (in Chinese) if you’re interested. I substituted this part with the four noble truths of Buddhism instead.
