It was still raining. Shan Yatong stood alone with an umbrella near the top of the mountain. Stepping away from the group of people pretending to be sad, he stepped onto the stone steps. The expression on his face dropped to cold indifference.

There was a large clearing at the top of the hill, with vibrant trees and colourful flowers. It gave an illusion that this was the garden of a luxurious villa rather than a cemetery. Fq0P6L

Shan Yatong walked along the path all the way to the end. He could see the magnificent tombstone. From ten meters away, he looked at the lonely tombstone sitting in the rain, surrounded by a luxurious garden.

He could see the picture on the headstone as he approached the grave. The man’s face on the tombstone was so handsome that other men would be jealous of. He had a gentle and affectionate smile on his face, and looked like a gentle prince in a painting. He looked eternally understanding, and gentle as jade.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Of course, Shan Yatong knew that this was just a facade. Because, underneath that smile, the eyes were full of indifference. No one knew him, this man called Jing Anjue, better than him.

Several bunches of flowers were set in front of the tombstone, along with some fruit. He crouched down to read the words inscribed on the tombstone. His smile fell. He was visiting his own grave at the cemetery, and it really was more like a science fiction than a sci-fi drama. zRiEa3

He had only found out that he was buried here not too long ago. He was a bit surprised that Sky Crown Corporation would spend such a large sum of money to buy such a large and secluded grave plot for himself. To see it being so well taken care of even after four years was really surprising.

“I didn’t think it would be four years in just the blink of an eye,” he smiled unconsciously, and reached out to wipe away the raindrops from the picture on the headstone, exposing the scar on his left wrist. “Lying alone in such a large garden after death, really living up to the name of an Emperor-level superstar”

The rain felt a little cold to his hands. He withdrew them and stood up. He sighed. “I said I hated rain, but this day is always against me.” He shook the rain off his hands. “The current me, and the former me… sometimes separating the two is fun, isn’t it?”

“So, Jing Anjue, may you rest in peace.” He looked at the picture on the tombstone, his brown eyes as peaceful as water.

Tang Ruanqing did not like rainy days. He remembered that it was also raining heavily the day that person was buried, even heavier than today. When he walked into this fancy cemetery, he could see from a distance, a man standing in front of the grave he often visited.

He couldn’t help but stop in his tracks. Because the person in front of the tomb was holding an umbrella, and he couldn’t see who it was, but the figure looked vaguely familiar.

Under the rainy skies it was a little chilly, but he felt a tingly sensation as the wind swept up his neck. The raindrops falling on his face were cold as he approached the man. It was as if his own footsteps had caught his attention. The man turned his head, revealing a fair and handsome, but indifferent face under the umbrella. J9ZodC

Why did he come here? Tang Ruanqing’s heart shook. In terms of the time and age of his debut, it was impossible for him to have anything to do with the person in the grave.

“I didn’t expect anyone to visit him at this time,” Tang Ruanqing said. He put away his dirtied handkerchief and stood back up, looking at Shan Yatong. “I think he would have liked a junior like you.” Ztxjb

Shan Yatong looked at Tang Ruanqing’s wet hair, droplets of rain dripping from the ends. He walked closer and held the umbrella over his boss’s head without saying anything.

The present Tang Ruanqing is inconsistent with the memory, because the Tang Ruanqing in his memories was almost always smiling. It made one unable to tell if he was really smiling genuinely or hiding calculating thoughts.

But now the expression on Tang Ruanqing’s face is… full of sorrow and longing. However, Shan Yatong was sure of one thing. In his previous life, he did not have much of a friendship with Tang Ruanqing. So he did not understand why this man showed such an expression in front of his grave four years later.

“He’s a wonderful man.” The man beside him stayed silent for a long time. Accompanied by the sound of drizzling rain, he said, “He was perfect in everything he did. Elegant in manners as if he were a noble prince. He did not come from a wealthy background, but he is the most elegant man I have ever met.” He smiled faintly. “Let’s go back.” IZAWhv

Shan Yatong nodded, glancing sideways at the photo on the tombstone. He continued carrying his umbrella with great effort.

His body was shorter than 180cm, while Tang Ruanqing beside him was taller than 185cm. So for Shan Yatong to be holding the umbrella, he looked like he was struggling.

A cold hand gripped the umbrella handle, touching his thumb. Tang Ruanqing smiled at the puzzled look on Shan Yatong’s face. “How can I let a beautiful young man hold an umbrella over me? Let me.”

Shan Yatong let go of his hand, letting the Tang family’s young master hold the umbrella. He tucked his hands in his trouser pockets to keep them warm. ndhAxj

Looking at each other’s natural movements, Tang Ruanqing laughed a little. Did this teenager just let go without even being polite? He had let go and just gone with the flow.

He couldn’t help but tap him on the head. “’I’ll say, you’re such a rude kid.”

“How? I’m just listening to my superior,” Shan Yatong said, “Not to mention that it would be less strenuous for you to hold it up compared to if I do.”

The two walked out of this top quality cemetery, and walked back down to Hang Jing’s funeral. Some artists had already said their goodbyes in pairs and trios. The recently dense crowd is now sparse. PLvmYH

The remaining artists were all artists and staff of the company, as well as Han Jing’s relatives.

There were many artists under Sky Crown Corporation who could see Shan Yatong and Tang Ruanqing sharing an umbrella together. Not only that, but the person holding the umbrella was Tang Ruanqing. Each person observed this thoughtfully, but their faces remained unchanged, as if they hadn’t noticed anything.

Naturally, Lin Yuxin and Xiao Qishen also saw this scene. Lin Yuxin first looked at Xiao Qishen’s reaction, and found him looking calm. She breathed a sigh of relief. “We should leave too.”

Xiao Qishen looked at Lin Yuxin. He suddenly greeted the two men sharing an umbrella with a smile. Lin Yuxin watched him from behind and smiled a complicated smile. NYPKdM

Shan Yatong was about to say goodbye to Tang Ruanqing when an arm hooked around his neck. He already knew who it was, and he looked sideways at him exasperatedly. “Xiao-ge.”

Xiao Qishen smiled at Tang Ruanqing. “Cousin, did you have something to say to Yatong? If not, I have something to discuss with him.”

Tang Ruanqing looked at the arm slung around Shan Yatong’s neck. He shook his head. “It’s fine. You two can go first.”

“Then we’ll take our leave first.” He held his umbrella over Shan Yatong as he fell behind. Smoothing out the bangs that were stuck to the young man’s forehead from rain, Xiao Qishen smiled. “I’m going to visit Director Lin’s new drama this afternoon. Let’s go together.” i2k5lp

“Director Lin is taking on this new film?” Shan Yatong was slightly surprised. The box office hit period of ‘Lincheng’ hasn’t passed yet, and he didn’t expect Lin Yiqian to pick up a new movie so soon.

“Yes. I heard it’s a literature and art film this time. Do you want to go?” Xiao Qishen thought about it and added, “Last night, Director Lin even mentioned he wanted both of us to make a guest appearance. So it would be a good idea to go this afternoon, since there’s nothing else going on.”

Shan Yatong rubbed his nose. He didn’t expect the current Emperor-level Superstar to be so idle and free. But he remembered that even when he first met Xiao Qishen, he didn’t look as carefree as he did now.

Thinking that he too had no plans for the rest of the day, he gave Lu Fan a call and followed Xiao Qishen. They made their way through the crowd of media, and got into the car and left. fXbTEA

Because this was a series focusing on the aspect of family, there were fewer shooting locations required, and the indoor shooting location was in the city. The two arrived on set in less than an hour by car.

When they entered the set, the two of them immediately saw Lin Yiqian, who was cursing loudly.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

“You’re an idiot. I’m asking for remorse in this scene! Where is the regret! I don’t want you to pull a long face. Do you even know how to act or not? If you can’t act, go home early instead of wasting everyone’s time!” Lin Yiqian threw the script to the ground. The whole set was quiet without a sound. The young actor playing the female protagonist’s kid was red-eyed.

Shan Yatong watched the actress sympathetically. Lin Yiqian was not only famous for his high standard within the circle, although his temper was not too bad, he had a low tolerance for actors who NG many times. Looking at this familiar actress, she was not a newcomer. oWStAN

He looked at Xiao Qishen. Seeing that this Emperor did not have any intention to speak out, naturally, he wasn’t going to be a hero and save the beauty at such a time either. Not to mention that many people’s ‘beauty’ in this entertainment industry was acquired.

“We’re not filming anymore. Production field, prepare for the next scene.” Lin Yiqian got up from his chair and saw Xiao Qishen and Shan Yatong standing to the side. His face improved a little, and he walked over to the two of them. “When did you two get here?”

“We just got here. We’re not doing much else this afternoon, so Yatong and I came here. Is the shoot going well?” Xiao Qishen asked with a smile. He stood there with a natural grace.

Lin Yiqian frowned again when he heard this, but he quickly said with delight, “If you two are here, you will have helped me a lot. I only have two scenes to shoot here today, but they’re very important characters. You two will be just perfect for it. If you guys do me a favour today, I’ll buy you dinner sometime.” 9hCOvD

He asked the deputy director to fetch the script and stuffed it into the hands of Shan Yatong and Xiao Qishen. He led the two into the dressing room, and explained the general content as they got their makeup on. There wasn’t enough time for them to fully understand the entire story structure, so he personally explained the plot. He didn’t want to go off and lose his temper on the actress again.

As it turns out, Xiao Qishen will be playing the role of a thirty-year-old young master. This young master will be the love interest of the main female protagonist. While out with his younger brother, he sees a car about to crash into them. He pushes his younger brother safely out of the way, only to die under the wheels.

Shan Yatong will be playing the role of Xiao Qishen’s character’s younger brother. He is also playing as the younger version of the main male protagonist. All along, the male protagonist is in love with his sister-in-law. In a nutshell, it is a narrative about how the country has changed over the decades. It begins with a focus on love, and concludes with the reunion of the two at the end.

After hearing the general content of what the two would be starring in, Xiao Qishen rubbed his chin. “It seems quite interesting.” 5QuVro

Kyou: In chinese, he said “really not burying” which is a pun of sorts? lol coz you know he’s dead and all so: ‘not burying his status (superstar)’ = ‘living up to his name’ = “not burying him (but he’s dead so obv he’s buried)”

Translator's Note

Like he looks too free, with nothing better to do

Translator's Note

Probably referring to plastic surgery

  1. Visiting your own grave is a hard pill to swallow but SY did it effortlessly. He’s cold indeed.

If SY finds out Tang Ruanqing feelings towards him which is genuine, then would his perspective about love/relationship change?

I ship him with Tang Ruanqing , then I know it’s unlikely they end up together.

  2. wait, I dont feel bad for TRQ at all. If we go based on SYT/JAY’s memories, they really didn’t intersect much(besides probably work?).. so where does this “love” come from?

I don’t think he is the ML. Based on the amount of screen time, my guess is that XQS is the ML.

    thanks for the chapter <3

  3. This is just one of those novels I would really like to Not habe any end-game romance. Frankly, the 3 potential MLs are really grating on me. I just find their interaction and with SY so incredible awkward and the “romance” part so forced.
