The white creature was akin to a large jellyfish. The semi-transparent outer skin draped like a veil over its meaty insides. Eight long tentacles hung from the umbrella-shaped body, making the creature look bigger by an inch. The monster silently floated in mid air. Bloody red lines covered its snow white feelers, making the monster appear evil, yet at the same time giving off an ethereal aura. prA6U5

To be honest, this kind of visual was an immense improvement from the meatball. However, Shan Ziwei didn’t have the time to appreciate its new appearance. He closed one eye and used “investigate” with a trembling heart.

Similar to the teddy bear from The City of Toys, even Investigate could only offer a handful of question marks. The bullet was swiped to the side by one of the monster’s tentacles, hitting the wall. The bullet didn’t manage to touch the main body at all. Furthermore, although one of its tentacles broke, the monster clearly didn’t care at all, and soon a new tentacle emerged from under the umbrella-like body.

Shan Ziwei’s pupils suddenly shrank. The source of the bloody veins was actually the broken tentacle the monster had discarded on the ground earlier. The bloody red lines that had been on the monster’s tentacles slithered towards them like they had a mind of their own. It stuck low to the ground like a crimson viper as it sped towards them. qWndul

Shan Ziwei and Sha Po Lang simultaneously backed away, and opened fire at the quickly approaching streaks. Unexpectedly, the red streak’s approach was only a feint. They were unbelievably flexible, and made a 90 degree turn down the stairs.

The pair was dumbfounded, then thought of something and quickly chased it down the stairs. In order to prevent Sha Po Lang’s grandfather from causing confusion during their attack, they had arranged for him to stay in the stairwell so that Sha Po Lang could attack while watching her grandfather at the same time. 

However, they were a step too late. The bloody streaks had already slithered up the old man’s body, and entered his body through his open mouth.

Sha Po Lang’s grandfather grabbed his throat and made a swallowing motion. Seeing this, Shan Ziwei and Sha Po Lang closed their mouths tightly. Goosebumps rose all over their bodies. Shan Ziwei subconsciously turned his head to glance behind him. The old man’s expression nearly made him think that the monster had suddenly appeared behind him and was about to ambush them.

Sha Po Lang let out an incredible, high-pitched scream, while Shan Ziwei confirmed that the monster was still obediently making its lethargic way towards them from a distance. He turned back just in time to see the old man running downstairs quickly like his ass was on fire. That devil-like speed was clearly not something a 70 year old grandpa should have! As a dutiful granddaughter who must personally ensure her grandfather’s safety, Sha Po Lang also rushed downstairs in pursuit of her grandfather.

“Hold on, I’ll go catch him!”

The abandoned Shan Ziwei, retracted his Erkang Hand, and pitifully tightened his grip on his weapon. He weakly fired a shot at the monster who was slowly closing the distance. He watched as it ignored his (pitiful) attack once again and reached towards him with its tentacles. As a light rhythmic sound echoed from behind, Shan Ziwei turned a corner in the stairwell and was unable to restrain himself from glancing up. The sight he saw nearly caused him to slip and roll down the stairs. The monster knew that its current speed was laughable, so it used it’s tentacles to beat at the ground, shaking off all of it’s red streaks.

The monster was left without any red patterns, causing it to appear even more glossy, clear, and translucent. However, Shan Ziwei desperately wished that the red streaks would return to their owner. Those thin red streaks were like blooming fireworks, shooting towards Shan Ziwei’s direction from the floor. Shan Ziwei was terror stricken and straightforwardly jumped down the stairwell. He tumbled as he landed and ran into a nurse helping a patient.

“Aiya, what the heck are you doing?!” KGdmdk

The nurse chided, and quickly squatted down to aid the fallen patient. However, Shan Ziwei watched in terror as the rapidly approaching bloody streaks slithered up to the patient’s body and slipped into their mouth. Suddenly, crimson veins emerged all over the patient’s body. The nurse’s expression froze. Before she could even scream, she was pushed over by the even more frightened patient.

“Help, there’s a monster!!!”

The patient with an appearance similar to the monster yelled at the top of his lungs. This floor should be the IV Drip sector. There is a lot of traffic on this floor, so at the patient’s holler, a crowd quickly gathered to examine the situation.

A series of screams echoed from upstairs. Shan Ziwei ran and scampered, sprinting from the fifth floor to the first floor in under 60 seconds, then rushed haphazardly towards the hospital entrance.

“Hi ~” The bald black man saw Shan Ziwei, who was running for his life, and revealed a set of white teeth, “What’s wrong buddy?”

“The monster evolved!” Shan Zhiwei huffed and puffed as he described the evolved monster. He stared at the bald black man behind the green barrier and stressed, “Two people can’t deal with the monster, either provide us with support or give us a pen and paper. We might as well leave behind a will before it’s too late!”
