the buddhist amulet lgj calls it is something used to honour the dead, display grief, etc. The yin amulet name instead refers to a similar amulet like buddhist amulets that are mixed with witchcraft in order to achieve the holder’s inner desires. They look similar but one is more malicious than the other

  24. Now that Lu Xu’s real indentity has been revealed, and Lan Gaojie has finally made his path to the underworld, i wonder what the media will say about his death. He inhaled dangerous air, and died? Or, he was sick for some time already, but wanted to make his wish come true kind of story?

    Oh, well. I feel relieved that Lu Xu picked up the Yin amulet, or many more innocent people would have to die earlier than expected, though that means more jobs for the Grim Reapers…

    This chapter got me thinking about what some people say, about addictions to something that will, without doubt kill them. They say they’ll quit it before it gets too bad, but in the end, they don’t. Of course, there are some cases where people are strong willed and do it, but i don’t think that would be the case to using a Yin amulet.

  25. Poor guy. Lan Gaojie had such an underwhelming life. In a way, he was tricked into giving up his life by the Yin amulet. I hope he is smarter and happier in the afterlife. How will the program deal with two deaths associated with it? That can’t be good publicity. Tha ks for the udpate!
