  1. This shower scene… was terrible. Terribly boring. Did Xiunian now have the revelation that he needs to directly express his like for Lu Xu, otherwise Lu Xu will remain dense and oblivious? I. don’t. know. Lu Xu teasing him? Whatever. He doesn’t get anything. He doesn’t regard Ji Xiunian as anything more than a good buddy.

    Also, I feel insulted. Lu Xu, what do you mean “we’re not girls why would we be embarrassed”??? You’re not a girl, how would you know!! Why would I be embarrassed showering with other girls?? Never seen a communal shower at the pool before, hm? Or maybe a bathhouse? Like, if two people like each other, showering together gets embarrassing. If they dislike each other, it makes them anxious, scared, disgusted, whatever. If they don’t care for each other, then there’ll be no special feelings. Gender? Doesn’t matter. And if it does, in my opinion at least, then society has sexualized the genders too much.

    Whatever happened in the shower doesn’t matter, I just dislike this comparison in the first few sentences of this chapter. It makes Lu Xu feel so dumb.

    Almost made me feel that there’s gonna be no romance for him in this story and he’ll leave Ji Xiunian with a beautiful illusionary memory before just, idk, moving on and being reborn after doing a lot of ambiguous dudes being guys and guys being bros stuff.

    • agree… I can only take it as author being lazy by picking common scene from old BL manga, which is very boring as I’m tired of this same damn scene which is similar up to the detail (the dense response, the so called teasing, JXN shyness etc etc) with no unique things added at all, boring sigh

    • I just want to point out, he actually said ‘We’re not WITH girls” so he actually meant what you said. Since they’re the same gender, there’s no need to be embarrassed showering together, just like in a locker-room or communal bath! He doesn’t know that JXN has feelings for him, so he wouldn’t really suspect that’s why JXN was hesitant…
