PsychicCh2 - Fearless

Edited by Qiuxue and Noks

The psychotherapist sat under the dim yellow light emitted by a desk lamp, with one of his hands clasped around his jaw, as he stared at the young man lying in front of him with a solemn expression. Deep hypnosis therapy was an extremely dangerous treatment for any patient to undergo, and even a small accident could result in irreparable injuries or sequelae. mf3bO1

He had reluctantly agreed to such a treatment method only because Fan Jialuo had insisted relentlessly on it. The other had repeatedly stated that he would be the one to bear responsibility for any consequences. He had even signed a Release of Liability agreement. This was the first time the psychotherapist had met such a serious and determined patient. According to the youth, even he did not know the number of sub-personalities which resided within him. It could be 30, or 40, or a number even greater than that, all hidden inside that thin body.

In principle, the power wielded by the master should be the strongest. Even so, it was not easy for anyone to devour so many sub-personalities in a single night. A psychotherapist’s role was limited to inducing the state of hypnosis, then giving some guidance and finally helping in awakening the patient’s state of awareness; for the part of the treatment that mattered most, the patient could only rely on himself.

After observing for more than two hours, the psychotherapist was relieved to notice that the patient’s expression had remained very calm. Based on his impression of the patient’s character, he believed that though the other’s means might be ruthless, it only meant that those sub-personalities wouldn’t be his opponents.

Thinking to this point, he shifted into a more relaxed sitting position, took out his journal and started to record the events that had occurred during the day. Unexpectedly, the second his pen touched the page, the young man lying on the sofa began to struggle violently. It seemed as if his limbs were tied with invisible ropes, and he would only claw and twitch within a fixed angle and position. His originally calm face was now completely distorted, displaying a devil-like ferocity, before it finally morphed into an expression of deep fear and panic. g1m3Up

The psychotherapist was frightened by this sudden change, and immediately ran up to appease and guide the young man into awakening. But the few predetermined suggestions were ineffective and the young man remained immersed in a deep sleep, though still struggling violently, unable to escape his inner world.

Through his twisted facial features and broken groans, the psychotherapist could guess what the young man was experiencing in his dream. If it was not for the fear and despair of being devoured, this proud young man would not be showing such an awkward posture, like that of a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

The psychotherapist persisted in attempting to rouse the youth to consciousness, but it was in vain. Suddenly, the youth raised his neck and arched his back upwards, while simultaneously letting out a sharp roar. At that instant, the psychotherapist felt as if the young man would die. However, in the next second, he fell back onto the sofa and continued to sleep peacefully again, making it seem as if the previous struggles, convulsions and roars had never happened.

“Ah! You, when did you wake up?” The psychotherapist, who was about to place his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose, was suddenly startled by the sight of a pair of pure black eyes. These eyes contained neither impurities nor emotions.

“I just woke up.” The young man looked at the psychotherapist, and then licked the lips which, at some unknown point in time, had become stained in a bloody red colour. In a lazy tone, he said, “I need to sleep a little longer. You can head back first. I’ll call your assistant about the payment of the rest of the consultation fee.”

The psychotherapist was acutely aware of the changes that had happened in the youth. His pupils were too pure and profound, quite different from the original Fan Jialuo’s amber pupils. Moreover, the youth’s voice had also changed. It now sounded like distilled spring water, clear and gentle, making it so that people’s eardrums couldn’t help but tingle upon hearing it.

After he spoke, the young man closed his eyes and fell back into slumber, with an expression that was calmer than ever before. But the psychotherapist continued to stare at his beautiful face, his mind in complete confusion. He was sure that the man in front of him was not the same as the one prior to hypnosis. His tone of voice was too calm and his eyebrows and eyes expressed a lot of gentleness. Even his facial lines had softened as an effect of the youth’s gentleness, making his appearance more beautiful. He was entirely different from before, it was almost as if he had experienced a rebirth! LsQCuU

In other words—Fan Jialuo had failed, and his body was now occupied by one of his sub-personalities! The psychotherapist soon realized this truth, but he didn’t dare to say or do anything about it. Fan Jialuo was the main personality, and the sub-personality was also Fan Jialuo. Whoever had won or lost this battle had nothing to do with outsiders. It was simply a matter of their internal struggle.

Thinking in this way, the psychotherapist took a deep breath and quickly left the apartment building. Although the man who woke up seemed to have a calmer nature than that of the original Fan Jialuo, when he looked at this Fan Jialuo, he did not know why, but his heart felt a chill.

During this period of deep sleep, Fan Jialuo’s life and career ended up suffering unprecedented damage.  1NdTDA

In order to get close to his male god, Fan Jialuo had entered the entertainment company set up by that man as a trainee. He had also used his family background and influence to seize the opportunities and resources given to other people, thereby becoming a member of a newly debuted male idol group. In order to obtain the stage he desired and pursue popularity, he didn’t hesitate to use any means possible. However, through these actions, he had managed to offend many people even at the beginning of his career.

However, the Fan Family was rich and powerful, and they shared a close relationship with the Zhao Group, which controlled a substantial part of the entertainment industry. The two sides worked in tandem to help Fan Jialuo clean up the messes created by his reckless actions and they paved the way for him to climb up the ranks uninhibited. In just a short time, the newly-formed idol group, named STARS, was blazing with popularity all over the country, garnering tens of millions of fans.

Even though in private, there would be many people who would gnash their teeth when they heard the name ‘Fan Jialuo’, no one dared to blatantly offend him.

Yet, everything changed quickly. Shortly after the death of the Madam of the Fan Family, who was also Fan Jialuo’s mother, Fan Luoshan, his father, could no longer wait and announced that Fan Jialuo was not his own son. Fan Jialuo was simply an adopted son who held no blood connection to him, and now that this ‘son’ had become an adult, he should leave the family to live independently. pmlXC1

This sentence could only be interpreted in one wayfrom now on, all his future actions would have nothing to do with the Fan Family and the Fan Family would no longer help clean up after him or provide him with any resources.

As soon as this news was released, black material on Fan Jialuo quickly spread across the newspapers and the Internet. Things like getting angry easily and scolding the staff; being brought into the police station for illegal car racing; dancing madly under the colored lights of a nightclub with a confused expression, just like a person under the influence of drugs; and his infamous confession to Zhao Wenyan, the CEO of Xinghui Entertainment Company, along with his distorted expression after being rejected. In one particular scene, he was being restrained on the ground by several medical staff members as he yelled frantically, but in the next moment, his entire demeanor had turned ignorant, after which he had asked the surrounding people where he was…

Videos depicting things like this had been rapidly released one after the other on the Internet, and their collective impact was like a cannonball, demolishing his popularity and reputation.

《Fan Jialuo Playing A Big Name》, 《Fan Jialuo Drunk Driving》, 《Fan Jialuo’s Tainted Life》, 《Fan Jialuo suspected of homosexuality or bisexuality》, 《Fan Jialuo is a neuropath with multiple personalities, is violent and shows antisocial tendenciesthe headlines published by the media became more and more sensational, and the accusations grew more and more serious. They attracted the attention of both the people in the circle and passersby, who gathered like hyenas, looking to scavenge as they tore Fan Jialuo into pieces. VBbhsx

To climb from the 18th tier to the 2nd tier of stardom took him half a year of effort. To drop from the 2nd tier and become the scum of the whole circle took him only three days. No one would have thought that Fan Luoshan would be so merciless, holding his adopted son up to the heavens with one hand and subsequently casting him to hell with the other—it was just like God who ruled allmaking him bathe in fame and then making it perish.

Three days was not long, but neither was it short. It was enough time for his management agency’s broker to come up with some corresponding countermeasures against the mess. However, the leading figure of the incident was still uncontactable, and so there was no way to cooperate with the agency to solve the problem. Public opinion had been fermenting uncontrolled, and had reached to become the worst possible situation.

‘Scum Fan Jialuo, get out of the entertainment world!’ had turned into a politically correct catchphrase that spread all over social media. One couldn’t tell how many fans and countless passerby netizens had turned into anti-fans after constantly hearing this kind of news. It was no exaggeration to say—there was no place left for Fan Jialuo in the entertainment circle anymore.

Three days later, the sleeping young man finally opened his dark eyes and sat up slowly. He brushed away the hair hanging on his forehead to reveal a beautiful face. However, this face was slowly changing. The sharp lines were being softened little by little, and the strong grumpiness the face exuded was disappearing. The pale skin of an ordinary person transformed into a whitish-transparent luster, and the pale lips were now as red as blood.

These were minor changes, almost imperceptible to others, but they bestowed the youth with a hint of enchantment. He walked to the kitchen and leisurely poured himself a glass of water. After drinking a mouthful, he automatically turned to his mobile phone and checked the messages he had received during the past three days. All of his actions mirrored those of the original Fan Jialuo perfectly.

The dense sound of notifications made the empty room noisy. He had received all kinds of private messages, especially those mixed with curses and verbal abuse, the main purpose of which was for their senders to use him as an outlet and vent their stifled emotions. Although he realized that he was in a predicament, the smile that graced his mouth didn’t diminish. He didn’t immediately rush out to seek help. Instead, he patiently read each piece of news one by one to understand the current situation. Finally, he put down the phone, and walked into the bathroom, where he removed his clothes to shower under a stream of cold water.

He didn’t use any toiletries, just simply tilted his head upwards and closed his eyes as if he was in the midst of thinking. The water from the shower rushed across his thin body. It was unknown as to what had triggered it, but his pale skin began to emit a dark light. The light slowly gathered, condensed, and converged, one by one, to form small Sanskrit characters. The words formed the shape of a lotus; many such concentric circular patterns were littered densely around his body, spreading from his cheek to his neck, from his shoulder blades to his lower back, from his hips to his calves, until soon, there was no uncovered skin left. AKz QO

The young man opened his eyes and touched these Sanskrit patterns carelessly. He turned off the shower, dried himself and returned to the living room.

The mobile phone that he had placed on the dining table continued to ring. As no one answered, it automatically hung up. But after a short moment, it once again began to ring erratically, as if conveying a sense of never giving up.

With only a bath towel wrapped around the waist, the young man slowly reached for the phone and said ‘Hello’ in a lazy voice after accepting the call.

The man at the other end noticed that his voice didn’t carry the slightest hint of panic and was immediately angered, to the extent that he loudly shouted, “Fan Jialuo, you had better arrive at the company in 20 minutes, or I’ll make sure you no longer have any way out!” DH7LMc

“You just wait.” With a chuckle, Fan Jialuo hung up.

No way out? This sentence seemed to have constantly appeared in his short but long life, but had he ever been afraid of it?

  1. That psychoterapist is a Scum. He didn’t even care If it was the original Fan Jialuo or not. Even If the sub personalities were not such, he didn’t know that. If he gets paid what’s the difference, right? 😡

I’m really eager to see what’s this Fan Jialuo like.

    Thanks for the chapter!

  2. Ааааааааа. Я уже привыкла к первой личности, но потом личность так быстро поменялась. Теперь я чувствую что он идеальный гонг, хотя до этого я думала о нем как о пассиве. Ах, я была к этому не готова

  3. I almost forgot that they live in a modern world. 🤣

And that scum of a father better not let me see him if I ever transmigrate.
