Kloh walked into the living room to find Dex. And just like the past several weeks there he was sitting on the couch stuck to his laptop. In front of him was an open textbook and several stacks of reports. He had his glasses on and was twirling his pen in hand. He looked so good when he was focused. Kloh hated to interrupt his flow but it had to be done. He took a deep breath before heading over.
“Get up.” Kloh stopped in front of Dex, arms crossed, looking down at him.
“Kloh, I’m busy.” Dex spared him a glance before focusing back on reading the study material.
“No you’re not. Get up. We’re going on a trip.” Kloh took the laptop from him.
Dex tried to grab it back but was held down by Kloh. He tried to reason with the alpha,
“Kloh, I can’t. I need to finish this–”
“Nope. You don’t need to finish anything. Wesley already said that he’d finish everything up for this week. You have no homework to complete. Your thesis is doing great. You are overworking yourself. And frankly neglecting your handsome boyfriend as well. What you need right now is a break.”
“Kloh, I–”
“Baby I haven’t gotten to hug or kiss you properly for days now. Don’t you miss me?” Kloh pouted and blinked lovingly at him.
“Mmm.” He did. He missed being hugged and kissed and cuddled. Who wouldn’t?
“I miss you.” Kloh continued.
He reached forward and cupped Dex’s face. “I miss your lips. Your pretty eyes. Your cute little nose. Baby…” His thumb stroked the soft cheek.
“Come with me okay?” Kloh leaned down and brushed his lips against Dex’s.
“But I haven’t packed.” Dex muttered.
“I already packed your bag.”
“And my parents..”
“Have already been informed.”
“And…”
“Dex.” Kloh looked into his eyes, “You’re the only one holding yourself back right now.”
“Fine. I could use a break.” Dex sighed even as he made a mental note of all reading he would need to catch up on.
“Perfect!” Muah muah, big smacking kisses were placed all over his face.
“You’re crushing me.”
“Love you too. Come on, we have to hit the road.”
Kloh jumped off of him. He easily pulled Dex up. He quickly saved Dex’s work and shut the computer down.
“Your jacket.” He put it in Dex’s arms. “And your shoes.” He pushed Dex to the doorway where two duffel bags sat on the floor.
“Hey, how long have you been planning this?”
“So long, baby. So long.”
He was ushered into the passenger side seat. Before he could, Kloh had already buckled his seatbelt for him. The door was shut behind him. Dex could only laugh in disbelief as he watched Kloh run back to the house. He brought out the bags and locked the door. He threw the packed bags into the truck before coming around to the driver’s seat.
“And where exactly are we going?” Dex asked as he yawned.
“Hush now beautiful. Take a nap. I’ll wake you up when we get there.” Kloh booped his nose then turned to fasten his seatbelt.
“Kloh…”
“The eye mask is in the glove box.” He started the car and set up the GPS, not paying mind to Dex’s small objections.
Dex rolled his eyes and begrudgingly took it out. He was very tired. And from the looks of it, it would be a long drive.
“Fine. I’ll nap. Not because you said so but because long drives make me tired.”
“Yes baby I know. Have a nice nap.” Kloh simply agreed and pulled out.
Dex pouted at the perfunctory answer. Mumbling to himself, he put on the mask and set the chair back to a comfortable angle. It didn’t take long for him to fall asleep. He was actually more tired than he originally thought. Kloh looked over with a smile as they stopped at a red light. He grabbed his jacket, putting it over Dex. He put the heater on and turned the music down.

They arrived at the cabin Kloh booked at night. After checking in, Kloh put all their stuff away as Dex went around. The cabin was a part of a cluster of nine other cabins located in a forest just outside the city limits. Their cabin had one bedroom, one bathroom, a small kitchen and a wide living room area. It was very rustic with lots of wood scents that made it feel comforting. There was a lot of plush carpeting that was soft to step on.

He looked back inside where Kloh was fluttering around. With a grin, he went over to the jacuzzi and turned it on. He stripped down to his boxers and went to the door.
“Kloh?” He called out.
“Yes baby.”
“Can you come to the back?”
“Just a sec.”
Dex smiled and went back over to the jacuzzi. It heated up quickly. He waited a couple of minutes before climbing in. He groaned as he settled in.
“Dex, where are you?”
“Back here.”
“Wh– ah I see you’ve found the jacuzzi.” Kloh said with a laugh as he stepped out the back door.
“Yes I have. Now get in here and join me. We can unpack later.” Dex grinned at him as he enjoyed the hot water loosening his muscles
“Your wish is my command.” Kloh quickly stripped down to his boxers as well and stumbled over.
“This is nice.”
“Mmmm.” Dex hummed an agreement as he maneuvered himself into Kloh’s arms.
He easily straddled Kloh’s waist and relaxed. Kloh rubbed his back, massaging the stiff muscles. Dex decompressed, pressing his face into Kloh’s shoulder with a sigh. Kloh was right. It had been way too long since he had taken some time to himself. He hadn’t felt this relaxed in weeks. The jets of the jacuzzi were doing their thing, getting all those sore spots. He groaned loudly as Kloh worked out a particularly stubborn knot.
“Feels good?” Kloh asked.
Dex nodded happily. He didn’t even mind as Kloh’s fingers moved downward, massaging his hips. His fingers recklessly dipped past the elastic band of Dex’s boxers.
“Perve.” Dex mumbled but didn’t make a move to stop him.
“Only towards you. I mean how could I resist when you are in my lap, basically naked and groaning. Only a saint wouldn’t be moved.” Kloh happily said as he blatantly stuck his hands into Dex’s shorts and grabbed his ass.
“Stop it, you horny devil. At least tell me what you have planned this weekend before bending me over the side.”
“I was leaning more towards a riding situation. But if that’s what you’d prefer. I’m happy to oblige.”
“Kloh.” Dex pinched the offending hands and gave him a look.
Kloh gave him a bare lust filled look. The kind that made Dex remember that this man was every bit alpha and would prove it to him if Dex allowed it. And while he wanted to give into that look his curiosity was still stronger. He gave Kloh a straight face until the man pouted.
“Fine, fine. Tomorrow we’ll be going to the Museum of Science, where a new exhibit just opened. I have tickets to the VR park. I also made reservations at that giant restaurant you wanted to see.”
“The one where they have giant dishes and everything is big so you feel like you’re in a giant’s place.” Dex’s eyes sparkled like a little kid.
“Yes, that place. I’ll cook for us the rest of the weekend. And we can go see the sunset in the morning. I heard it was really pretty.”
“That sounds amazing. This whole weekend sounds amazing. You’re amazing.” Dex excitedly kissed him.
Kloh grinned into the kiss. When Dex began to pull away, he quickly held him still and finally got the kiss he had been wanting for weeks. He didn’t realize how high an alpha’s libido was before. But these few weeks had truly shown him the truth.
He held Dex’s neck and steadily kissed him. His tongue parting the thick lips and slipping inside. Their tongues clashed softly at first but became more erratic. He began stroking the covered gland. Dex groaned and trembled lightly in his hands.

Kloh happily squirmed under the bigger body that was currently half laying on him, half on the actual bed. Dex had his face pushed into the bend of Kloh’s neck. He was happily puffing away in dreamland after a productive day and sex crazed evening. Kloh smiled as he petted his boyfriend’s head. In turn Dex nuzzled deeper. Fuck, the cuteness made him want to squeal. On the nightstand his phone buzzed. Carefully he reached and quickly answered in a low voice.
“Go for Kloh.”
First static filled the phone. Then machine noises and then some ruffling. Kloh squinted at the caller id in confusion when they spoke.
“Your mom is in the hospital.” Kayle’s voice filtered through.
There was a pause.
“Kloh? Hello? Kloh, are you there?” Kayle’s voice pitched higher.
“I’m here.”
“Oh good. Thank God. Kloh, Aida is in the hospital.”
“…okay.” Was the only word that he could get out.
“Okay? Okay! That’s all you have to say!” Kayle sounded a bit panicked and upset.
“Well I’m not really sure how to react here.” Kloh honestly said as he held Dex tighter.
“Ask if she’s okay, Kloh. Jeez I know you don’t have the best feelings towards her but–”
“Hey you’re the one who started the call straight out the gate with such a dramatic statement. Let me digest the news for a minute.” Kloh scoffed.
There was another pause then Kayle sighed heavily.
“Sorry. I just – I…. shit. You’re right. You’re right. I’m sorry Kloh. I didn’t mean to attack you.”
“It’s cool. What happened? Is she okay? Are you okay? Are the kids okay?”
“The twins are fine. I’m good. And she…. The doctor said she’ll be fine. It was a panic attack which I could handle but when she dropped to the floor she hit her head and I couldn’t wake her up.” She let out a shaky breath.
“Shhhh it’s okay. She’s fine now. Where are you guys? Still in the hospital?”
“Yeah, we’re at Sinai. I’m trying to find somewhere to put the kids. I don’t want them staying here overnight. But my father is out of state so I called you but–”
“But I’m also away.” Kloh cursed lightly before rubbing his temple, “You know what I’ll call Lane, Dex’s dad. He can come pick up the kids.”
Kloh switched to the speaker with the volume all the way down to not disturb Dex. He quickly texted Lane. Thankfully he knew that Lane liked to stay up. So chances were that he was awake.
“Would that be okay? I don’t want to bother him.” She hesitated to agree.
“No no it’s fine. He wouldn’t mind. Plus he loves kids. The twins played with him for hours at the barbecue. I already texted him.” Lanes reply came in as he finished speaking.

“and he’s already on his way. I’ll give him your number.” Kloh smiled, relieved.
“Okay. Okay, that’s great. I … thanks Kloh. I know I’m bothering you and I don’t want to be a bother. I just didn’t know who else to call.”
“Hey hey it’s okay. Don’t worry, okay? Me and Dex are leaving in the morning. I’ll drive by to pick up the kids after school and take them to my place. You just worry about Mom.”
“Thank you. I really appreciate it.” Kayle whispered softly.
“No problem. That’s what family is for right.”
“Right.”
They said their goodbyes and hung up. For several minutes Kloh just stared at the ceiling. He waited for the panic to set in. The feeling of worry that he should feel to hear his mother was laid up in the hospital. He waited for the proof that he somehow still cared deeply for her despite their past.
But it never came. Sure there was the stress and concern for the twins. While he cared about her wellbeing, he didn’t care at the same time. It was the way you would care for a teacher or a colleague if you heard they were hurt. It was actually surprising. Despite all the issues they had, he thought that in moments of crisis at the very least the familial bond they had would burst forward. Like what he felt when his grandparents passed.
He could remember when he first learned about their death. It was like his soul had left his body. As though a physical part of his being was ripped and torn away. He felt like he died and that feeling had lingered for months. Even now there was still a missing piece in him, although Dex was doing a great job of filling it in.
“What time is it?” Dex mumbled disgruntledly and pushed away the buzzing phone.
Kloh quickly silenced the phone. He hadn’t even noticed the alarm going off.
“Sorry baby. Go back to sleep.” Kloh whispered and stroked Dex’s hair.
“Mmmmmmmm I will. But first I have to send the birthday text. Pass my phone please.” Dex huffed and patted Kloh’s chest.
“Text?” Kloh asked as he grabbed Dex’s phone.
“Beau’s birthday. It’s always a contest to see who texts him first.” Dex explained as he squinted at his phone.
Kloh chuckled. “And how do you know who wins?”
“We all have to put it in the group chat or it doesn’t count.” Dex yawned then smacked his lips while he clicked through the apps.
“Does this count for y’all too?”
“Nope. Just for Beau.”
“Really? Why?”
“Well Beau is never home around his birthday. He’s always on a mission or on call. Or whatever the fuck he does. There was one year where he was somewhere without a cell signal. And things kind of went badly. Lots of people were hurt and he lost a couple of people.” Dex sighed and turned his head to look at Kloh.
“He said he felt that he didn’t deserve to live, not after he failed to protect everyone. Two days later as the reentered cell service range, he gets a shit ton of birthday messages from us and everyone. All expressing how grateful and happy they are he made it through another year. How wonderful it is that he was alive and able. And how much they loved him. It helped him a lot to see that after those dark days. At least that’s what Weston told us.” Dex smiled softly, “It was something we always did but suddenly it had a deeper meaning. Plus it’s fun. We try our best to write cringey messages that will make him gag.”
Kloh laughed as Dex grinned wider. Dex kissed his chin before laying his head back down.
“Having an older brother sounds fun. Wish I had one.” Kloh muttered, more to himself than aloud.
“Some days it is. And sometimes I want to tie him up and beat him like a pinata.” Dex replied.
Kloh laughed. Dex smirked and turned to give him a wink.
“That doesn’t sound scary at all.”
“He’s scarier. Plus he loves me. And I love him.” Dex poked him and threatened him, “Tell him I said that and you’ll get to be the first pinata.”
Kloh laughed harder and held his hands up in surrender.
“Sir, yes sir.”
“And you do.”
“Mmm?”
“Have a big brother. Beau officially adopted you the minute he bailed you out of jail. Plus you also got stuck with Weston. They’re a two for one deal.”
“First of all, it was mall jail.”
“Whatever.”
Dex rolled his eyes as he finished typing his message. Seconds before midnight, he pressed send so that it would be exactly 12 once it had finished sending. Seconds after 12, a flurry of messages filled the group chat. The usual cornball messages made him grin. There was one message that made him pause then smile.
Beau’sBeauWest: Love you. Thx for another year by my side.
“Holy shit they’ve finally made it public.”
“Who?”
“Weston and Beau. Look at his username. Look at Beau’s, West’sBeauBeau. Ugh how cheesy. I bet Beau made him change it to that.” Dex fake gagged and passed the phone to Kloh.
“Awww how sweet. Wait, did you already know about the two of them.” Kloh questioned.
“Of course.” Dex moved over, folding his arms on Kloh’s chest then rested his head on top.
“I caught them making out several times. Actually everyone knows. There’s been way too many instances of Beau coming over smothered in Weston’s scent. Those idiots are really oblivious to how obvious they are.” Dex rolled his eyes.
“Really, I never noticed until I caught them in the trailer.”
“Ah yes the trusty trailer. I never could sleep in there after I nearly walked in on unspeakable things.” Dex shook his head in disgust.
“Well I’m happy for them.” Kloh laughed.
“Me too. They deserve happiness.”
Kloh hummed in agreement. He contentedly ran his hand across Dex’s messy bed head. Dex grinned and puckered his lips.
“Gimme a kiss.”
Kloh laughed softly and complied.
Dex smacked his lips then puckered up again, “One more.”
“Baby don’t start something you can’t finish.” Kloh warned and gave him another kiss.
Dex just grinned and licked his lips.
“Oh I plan to finish it.”
