“Care to tell me why you are here?” Beau stood in the door, arms crossed over his chest.
He leaned against the door frame, looking cool as fuck. He had on a dark leather jacket and faded blue jeans with Docs on. It made Kloh hate him a little, out of principle. His anger had cooled down some though. Seeing Beau reinforced his self scolding at his lack of control. He looked back down at his hands. He picked off some dirt from under his nails.
“Thanks for coming.” Kloh lowly mumbled
“Like I would leave you here. Not only would Dex kill me, there would be a long list of scary omegas waiting after him.” Beau chuckled and stood properly.
“Still.”
Beau waved him off.
“Come on, I still gotta bust the rest of your friends outta jail too.”

2 hours earlier
“Liv, open the door!” Kloh banged on the dorm room.
“For fucksake, Olive, open the goddamn door!” Ares kicked the door.
“Shut up! People are sleeping!” Someone popped out of their room to yell at them.
“Sorry. We’ll be quieter. Sorry.” Noe hurriedly replied.
He apologized a couple more times as the person closed the door. Noe turned around and slapped Ares’s shoulder.
“Yelling is not gonna open the door.” Noe whisper yelled.
“Well, asking nicely clearly isn’t helping.” Ares sucked his teeth.
He pushed back his bangs in frustration and cursed under his breath. Kloh bit his lip and looked at the closed door. He took a step closer and lightly knocked on the door.
“Olive, you in there? Let us in, please.” He softly said against the door.
“She’s not here. Let’s just wait for Simon to get out of his test. Then we can go to their house to look for her. Or better yet, he can open the door for us if he has a spare.” Noe looked at the both of them, waiting for an agreement.
Ares and Kloh stared at the still shut door and nodded. The three reluctantly walked away from the door. Even as they got further down the hall, Kloh couldn’t help but look back.
“I can’t believe this. Fucking bullshit.” Ares sucked his teeth again.
“I’m sure she’s fine.” Noe replied even as his fingers twitched nervously.
“Is she though?” Kloh mumbled to himself.
A headache was setting in. He, like the rest of them, was frustrated, annoyed and worried. Two weeks ago, Simon and Olive had both gone into estrus. While Simon checked himself into a room at the hospital, Olive had stood by her decision and spent it with her girlfriend Ariane. They had all anxiously waited to see what would happen. But contrary to their worries, Olive had met with them a couple of days later, smiling, giggling and very much love struck. The stress everyone had carried for her disappeared. Even Simon started to warm up to Ariane.
Until this morning, when Olive dropped a message in the group chat before going AWOL.

Kloh and Ares had been meeting up for lunch when they got the message. They hurriedly got in the car and went over to Olive’s dormitory where they met Noe. Simon was still in classes and Lee had checked himself into the hospital for his estrus the night before. So the three of them went to find her.
“Maybe she’s in class?” Noe offered.
“She only has morning classes today.” Ares said as they all got into the car.
They sighed and quietly sat, lost in their own thoughts. There was still about an hour left before Simon’s class ended. And other than home or one of their places, they couldn’t think of a place she would be at.
“Wait, her location! She shared her location with us!” Ares excitedly pulled out his phone.
“Location?! What? When?!” Kloh turned to the back seat.
“When she went to that weird restaurant two days ago with her classmates that she thought was sketchy. She shared it in case shit went down.”
“Oh fuck! Why didn’t we think of that earlier.” Kloh groaned and rubbed his face.

“Why would she be at the mall?”
“I don’t know but we’re going to find out.”

The three of them had geared up for a long search when they had arrived. But they spotted Olive the minute they entered the mall. She was sitting outside of the pet store tearfully watching the puppies climbing on each other.
“Olive!” The three of them ran over to her.
She only glanced back listlessly. Noe hugged her. Ares sat beside her and held her hand.
“You guys are here?” She greeted them.
“Of course we are. Did you think we’d just go about our day after you told us that you broke up with that witch? The only course of action was to find you, eat a shit ton of ice cream and bash her until we were satisfied.” Ares announced and wiped away a lone tear from her face.
“I have rocky road, cookies and cream and chocolate in the fridge. We’ll grab some more plus a shit ton of alcohol. Let’s get wasted and cry all night, yeah?” Noe hugged her tighter.
“Yeah. Let’s.” Olive gave them a small smile.
“Come on. Dex restocked the hot chocolate yesterday. Plus all of my winter blankets are out. We can get extra toasty.” Kloh smiled and helped her up.
“Have you eaten today?” Noe asked.
As the question fell, several stomachs rumbled in response. They were all still for a minute before they fell into laughter.
“Let’s go to the food court first then.” Kloh laughed.
They laughed and nodded. As they walked over Olive gave them a quick rundown of what happened.
“So that bitch took your virginity, ghosted you and finally broke up with you.” Ares summarized.
“That fucker!” Noe cursed.
“You guys were right about her. I should’ve listened to you all.” Olive whispered.
“Oh honey we didn’t want to be right.” Ares squeezed her hand.
Olive sniffled some more and wiped her face. Ares and Noe hugged her on both sides. Kloh walked behind them as they entered the food court. It was fairly busy, the lunch rush just ending. He looked out for an empty table and instead spotted Ariane. She was laughing and smiling, looking relaxed and at ease. An irrational anger spiked in his chest. What right did she have to make Olive feel this way only then to move on so easily afterwards?
Before he could register what he was doing, Kloh had marched over stopped in front of the table.
“Apologize.” Kloh spat out.
“Excuse me?” Ariane stopped talking and looked up at Kloh.
The group of alphas at the table also turned to him. It was quite an intimidating sight. But Kloh wasn’t bothered by intimidation at the moment.
“I said apologize, you fucking asshole.” He repeated with gritted teeth.
His hands were balled into fists. The anger radiating off of him had the people at the closer tables moving out of the way. The three omegas had caught up and were now standing behind him.
Ariane raised a brow and replied, “Now why would I do that?”
“Kloh just leave it.” Olive whispered and tugged on his sleeves.
Ariane looked over at her as she stepped forward. A wolfish look flashed in her eyes. A smile spread across her face and she licked her bottom lip, almost as though she was reminiscing on how Olive tasted. Olive stepped closer to Kloh, a wave of disgust filling her body. She couldn’t believe she fell for her bullshit. Noticing the little interaction, Kloh blatantly took a step in front of Olive.
“No. We’re not leaving till we get a fucking apology.” Kloh doubled down on his stance.
Ariane looked him over. Then at the group of omegas behind him. She laughed. She turned back to the group of alphas and winked at them. They snickered to themselves, clearly not taking the little group seriously. Ariane turned back to Kloh and gave him a mock stern look.
“Look kid, don’t waste your time. Why don’t you just walk away before you embarrass yourself.”
The group bursted out into laughter. Ariane gave him a cocky look and grinned. Rage swelled in Kloh’s chest. That same blinding kind of rage that appeared in high school and when someone was talking bad about Dex. He thought he had it under control. But this chick was clearly testing the limits of his patience.
“Apologize.”
“Listen kid, it’s not my fault Olive regrets her time with me. She knew exactly who I was before we got together. It’s too bad she got sticky afterwards.” Ariane brushed her hair back and titled to the side to look at Olive, “but we did have a good time. Didn’t we Oli? I’m always dtf babe.”
She winked and the table broke out into hollers and catcalls. She turned back to high five her friends and accepted compliments on her ‘skill’. The pulse in Kloh’s forehead jumped and his eye twitched.
“While I’m still asking nicely, apologize.”
Ariane sighed loudly and stood up. She stepped forward until she was toe to toe with Kloh. It was at this point Kloh realized that she was a bit taller than him. Not that it mattered. The feeling of being looked down on, however, stoked the rage in his chest. And he slipped.
“Or else?” A flare of annoyance filled her voice and she let out a trickle of pressure to intimidate him.
“Remember I gave you a choice.” Kloh whispered.
Ariane scoffed. She nodded to her friends and they stood up. As if she would be afraid of a little alpha and a group of omegas. Even at the worst odds, she was at the advantage here. She crossed her arms over her chest and raised a brow at the little alpha.
In the next minute the sound of chairs and tables clattering filled the tense air. Followed by hurried footsteps moving away from the commotion. Several bodies hit the floor with a loud slapping sound. A thousand pound weight pressed down on Ariane’s back. She, along with her friends, fell to the floor. She couldn’t breathe.
Why couldn’t she breathe? She clutched her chest and struggled to look up at Kloh. The alpha was staring down with a blank look but his eyes were filled with a thick hatred. As they made eye contact, the pressure increased and she sunk deeper, her face nearly touching the floor. Around her, people had grabbed their friends and lovers and cleared the space in order to not be affected. Thankfully Kloh had already learned to narrow this to a certain range. Otherwise he wouldn’t easily do it, especially with his friends there.
The suffocating feeling of being suppressed wasn’t something she was unfamiliar with. As alphas, sometimes when fighting shit like this happened. But never had she felt so terrible because of it. A trickle of a clove scented fragrance brushed her nostrils as she struggled to hold herself together. Her body worked on overdrive to fight back. But she quickly realized that it wasn’t a match for the little freak of an alpha.
“This is illegal. Stop before you get in trouble.” Ariane gasped at him.
“I’ll stop when you apologize.” Kloh calmly replied.
“Kloh, you don’t have to do this.” Olive sniffled, not even noticing when she started crying again.
“She’s an asshole. And she needs to apologize to you.”
“But people have called security, you’ll get in trouble.” She held his arm and wiped her face.
“I’ll apologize! Just stop it!” Ariane shouted, interrupting their conversation.
The pressure had kept increasing as they spoke. Ariane was now lying on the dirty food court floor, gasping. Her friends weren’t doing any better. Of all of them, she could be acknowledged as the strongest. So one could only imagine how the rest of them were holding up.
“Kloh.” Noe and Ares nudged him along with Olive.
They had hid behind Kloh the minute they saw the situation going sideways. They knew how scary Kloh could be when he was angry and also knew that he wouldn’t hurt them. But they were worried about what would happen when security came. Before they arrived, they wanted to wind down the situation to something that wouldn’t end up in an arrest.
“Fine.” Kloh could also recognize that he went too far.
He took a deep breath and withdrew the suppression. Immediately the group of alphas gasped for air. Greedily sucking in oxygen as they tried to gather themselves. He sneered down at them.
“Get up and apologize.” Kloh nudged the gasping alpha with his foot.
Ariane gave him a dark look even as she struggled to get up. She held onto the chair and used it to stand up. Her legs trembled lightly as she stood. Gone was the bravado and cockiness from earlier. It was now replaced with humiliation, anger and a bit of fear.
“Sorry.” She practically spat out.
“Do it properly.” Kloh scowled.
“I apologize for hurting your feelings and for being an asshole who only wanted you for sex.” Each word was covered in hatred with a single bit of sympathy.
Not that Kloh or Olive expected anything less. But hearing the words did relieve a tiny hit of the heartache Olive was carrying around. She wiped her face and before anyone could stop her, her fist flew out and she nailed Ariane right on the cheek. Already weak from the suppression, the punch hurt a whole lot more than it would’ve. Plus Olive had thrown a pretty solid punch just like her younger brother Nathaniel had shown her.
Ariane stumbled back into the overturned table, nearly falling back down.
“Asshole. I wish lifelong impotence on you.” Olive angrily said.
“Olive!” Ares and Noe grabbed her, pulling her behind them.
Ariane had lunged forward. Kloh easily stepped between them and went down as Ariane latched onto his throat. She squeezed tightly. He started to release pressure but noticed that his friends were now in his line of suppression. Instead he swung, catching Ariane at the same spot from earlier. She reflexively let go as she went rolling in one direction. Kloh grabbed his throat and coughed harshly as he caught his breath. Ariane rolled back over ready to fight when a loud siren caught them all off guard.
The siren penetrated into their brains. All the alphas groaned and covered their ears. But the echo of the siren persisted. Although the effects didn’t last for too long, it was enough for the security guards to take control of the situation.
“Get off of me! I wanna file charges! You’re going to jail you little prick! You hear me! Jail!” Ariane started yelling as a security officer cuffed her with special alpha cuffs.
Another officer came up to Kloh cautiously. Kloh willingly held up his arms. The officer let out a breath and nodded at the compliance. Clearly it wasn’t easy with the others. He helped Kloh up. On the other side Ariane and her friends were throwing hissy fits.
“Alright, you’re all coming with us. That includes you all as well.” The head officer rounded up the three omegas.
“Wait, Kloh!” Olive turned back to him.
“Go with him. I’ll be fine.”

“Wow. I must say I’m impressed by your sheer stupidity and complete loyalty.”
“I know it was stupid.”
“Do you, Kloh? You could’ve been taken to jail. Like actual jail. Not mall jail. Ariane could press charges against you.”
“She started it.”
“She start— Kloh! Are you fucking kidding me right now?!” Dex yelled as he stopped in front of Kloh.
Beau stood to the side, not willing to get into this. Dex was a scary fucker when he was pissed. He had the same energy that their dad had when he was pissed and that shit terrified Beau. He could only silently send his condolences to Kloh with his thoughts.
“I’m sorry but–
“But what?!”
“But I don’t regret it. In fact I wish Olive was able to get another hit in. That asshole deserved it.”
“Kloh! What are you— You are a motherfucking ECE major. You can’t teach kids with a fucking record. Listen, I appreciate what you were doing for Olive. Hell I wish I could’ve punched Ariane too. But Kloh this kind of thing cannot happen. Are you aware of how shit like this will affect you? The momentary satisfaction is nothing compared to severe consequences afterwards. What if no one was there to witness that Ariane used her suppression first? Then what, huh? Your reaction was much more noticeable than her provocation. Anyone who came afterward would think you started attacking people unprovoked.” Dex lectured him angrily.
“I know I was wrong. I’m sorry.”
“I don’t want your apology, Kloh. I want you to not be reckless with your future. Our future.”
“Dex…” Kloh shrunk inward as each word fell onto him.
“Do you know how worried I was when Olive called me?” Dex whispered.
“Baby,…” Kloh looked up but Dex took a step back.
“Get cleaned up. Beau has some medication for that bruise. I’m staying at my parent’s house tonight.” Dex mumbled and turned to leave.
He stopped in the doorway then turned back and went back to Kloh. He leaned down and kissed his alpha’s forehead. He paused there for a moment. Kloh moved to hug him but Dex pulled away before he could.
“I’ll call you in the morning.” He said without looking back.
Dex grabbed his jacket and went out the front door. Kloh heard the car start and drive away. He touched his forehead where the lingering kiss was still warm to the touch. He didn’t expect to be praised for his course of action but he also didn’t expect this reaction. Dex was pissed. And he didn’t know what to do.
Fuck.

I really can’t wait to find out what’s behind Kloh’s power. I just wish they’d been somewhere more private when he released the kraken lol because she totally deserved it but Dex is a sweetie who doesn’t deserve to always wonder if his alpha will lose it whenever something happens. I can’t quite say he shouldn’t have taken her down though, it was sooo satisfying 😌
