Translator's Note

鸡肋 : jī lèi – chicken ribs / sth of little value or interest / sth of dubious worth that one is reluctant to give up / to be physically weak

Translator's Note

洗衣台 – it actually translated to a laundry stand, but it looked more like a large sink…

Translator's Note

大恶人系统 – can be translated to big evil/wicked system, but ‘Big Bad System’ kind of reminded me of the Big Bad Wolf

  1. ghad so exciting! Those kid are definitely gonna get a beating 🤣.

    Thank you for the chapter🤩

  2. Ahh I really love the way this story talks about acting, microexpressions, fooling oneself before one can fool the audience, it’s just incredibly cool to me. It’s something I often think about myself but most stories that involve acting don’t really get into it to that level so it’s awesome that right from the start we’re going to see a battle of microexpressions and believability, a brilliant actor scrutinized by a highly perceptive audience in demanding circumstances. This is especially hard when it comes to acting out a blind person because so many of the eye’s reactions to stimuli are involuntary, and he doesn’t even get the benefit of glasses. Not to mention that “looking at something,” even moving one’s eyes to take in a scene properly, is completely visible to anyone paying attention. Love how the narration follows this by making the people entering the gate indistinct (peripheral vision is harder to see clearly even if you’re paying particular attention to it) and not immediately describing Ren Yifei’s savior, because Ren Yifei isn’t letting his eyes catch on anything. It actually might be helpful that he just hit his head too, he’s still warming up to this role and it was a particularly hard “scene” straight into a closeup from someone who may be abnormally good at reading expressions, better if his eyes naturally can’t focus in self-defense. If this is the ML, though, this would give him an excellent reason to categorize Ren Yifei as an NPC from the start. In any case, I’m having a lot of fun

Thank you so much for translating! <3

  3. Ok but why is no one talking about these dimshit kids with their sorry ass marbles. I hope they choke to death swallowing each and every one of those …… it’s not child abuse when the child is in fact an abuser so someone better do their job and give those rats a lil teaching
