Translator's Note

“那个,您大概、可能、也许已经死了。”引导精灵以为他没听清。- basically a bunch of ways to say ‘probably’.

Translator's Note

东星区 : dōng xīng qū – Eastern star district

Translator's Note

智能 : zhì néng – intelligent / able / smart (phone, system, bomb etc)

Translator's Note

“你是怎么运行的?高纬度文明?也是二进制编程?” – um, very confused.

Translator's Note

白贝 – lit: white shell/cowrie/shellfish/currency. In ancient China, people would make cowrie shells out of bronze, silver and gold and use them as currency.

Translator's Note

酣畅淋漓 : hān chàng lín lí – to one’s heart’s content (idiom)

Translator's Note

强迫症 : qiǎngpòzhèng – obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

Translator's Note

This is the code name mentioned in the synopsis.
Side note: the more I read this story, the more I think that his code name should be ‘Mysterious Ninth Person’.

Translator's Note

the original text: “我有系统PTSD。” zkP8ZK

As someone has commented, Ren Yifei is probably referring to PTSD caused by the other system and not referring to trauma that affects the whole body.

Translator's Note

东峰 : dōng fēng – East peak

Translator's Note

东风 : dōng fēng – East wind – yes, it sounds exactly like his name (a bit of a narcissist, no?), so it will be written as Dongfeng to reduce confusion

Translator's Note

木知 : Mù zhī – wood/tree know/aware of

Translator's Note

Mu Zhi is probably the lamp trimmer. Their gender now is kind of a mystery as the author had used both 他 and 她, however, I think the former was just a typo.

Translator's Note

it only had 喜丧, each translate to Happy funeral, the name of the instance. However, I found it weird to just have it like that so I added the ‘damn’ to make it sound like Mu Zhi is cursing the instance.

Translator's Note

A little note at the end: the guide elf is the white screen itself- I felt stupid after reading it again, I thought the guide elf was a fairy or a floating gnome……

  1. By ‘Systemic PTSD’ I think MC meant he had PTSD related to Systems, probably from the one he had before that was briefly mentioned (Evil System).

  2. thank you for the chapter! interested to see of more of this players community wld be spoken of… cant wait for the next instance!

  3. I love how Ren Yifei genuinely just enjoys acting out his parts, both a challenge and recreation, such a cool take on this kind of system story

Thank you so much for translating! <3

  4. Everyone else goes to find safety and information. Our boy goes to be a mountain man. What a mood.

  5. Hello……can someone tell me how Ren Yifei died…did he died because of stress?…..it was not mentioned…..because as far as i remembered he only got in the instance after falling asleep????😅

    • Sorry for the late reply, but to whoever is reading later…… we don’t know hahaha. For now, it is a mystery. I assume that he died during his sleep, and after looking at the first chapter again, that assistant looks quite suspicious.

    • I believe he was killed while he’s asleep. Human nature in the entertainment circle have their own darkest desire like greed, envy, and so on. Therefore, as he is alone sleeping in the van, he became vulnerable to all prying eye and malicious people

  6. Sorry I am very late to the party here. TY for the translation! I’ve not read past this chapter yet, but something caught my attention about the use of the word fairy or elf. Could it actually be sprite? In some contexts it means a fey creature, but in others it’s a term for an object (including characters) in a game. Stolen from google: A sprite is a two-dimensional (2D) graphical object used in computer graphics, particularly in video games. But I might be completely wrong here since I don’t know what word they were using in Chinese or how playful the author was being.

    • Oops– Yup, you’re completely right!

The OG term is 精灵, which could translate to spirit/fairy/elf/sprite/genie, so technically, Fish should have used the term ‘sprite’ as you’ve suggested. However, due to Fish’s misinterpretation, Fish used the term ‘elf’. And since the novel is already half-translated, Fish will continue to use ‘elf’ (please don’t be too mad ><). However, once Fish finish translating the whole novel, Fish will go back and correct some terms/names to make the story more consistent.

Anyways, Fish hopes you’re enjoying the story so far (despite any mistakes hehe)!

  7. I thought ‘elf’ as in a super large white-platinum colored Mecha…. because recently I was reading a novel with a Mecha named ‘elf’ so like it was the first thing that came to mind… XD
