“It seems like the demon had first emerged near the lake you like you live by. You should be able to live there again after repairing it, but your house seems to be half-destroyed.”

“Eh? My house, really?”

“That’s right. According to Seth’s report, it has been laid waste by the demon and isn’t in a condition for people to live in. In fact, last night I actually tried to move you to your house instead of here….”

Listening to the explanation, I sighed. Without any room for the surprise to even settle, things came one after another. No other day could be more hectic than this. mNexF4

Then again, that house was a ramshackle structure anyway.

Even the slightest impact could make it shake, and none of the windows or doors even fit properly, so I guess there was no helping it.

“Until your house is rebuilt…. no, even if it’s only until your injury is completely healed, why don’t you come stay at my residence?”

“That….”

“Yesterday, you weren’t quite conscious, so you might not remember it, but I like you. I know it doesn’t seem very trustworthy considering I’m the kind of man that falls in love with you, who already have a lover. But I will return to work, so usually I will be back at the capital. Only the children will be at the mansion, so you don’t need to worry—”

“No, but,” YjF61D

‘But’, ‘but’ — it was bullshit. Eyes widened, Jill was staring at me. I really wanted to doodle on that ridiculous, uselessly beautiful face.

I had heard about it from Bel.

The kid had apologised many times, but in any case, it wasn’t on Bel to get it right.

Jill didn’t even ask me, so I wasn’t able to clear up the misunderstanding, either with Bel or Jill. s5Hy9C

If something grew complicated and we continued to miss each other, then that would just be lack of communication.

“…..Why do I feel like you’re going to talk about giving up on me.”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

“……”

“For you, that’s fine, huh.” s6eBdb

When I expressed my pent-up feelings, Jill panicked.

As expected.

Even when I had been attending the academy, I hadn’t done stuff like socialising. And now, except for a miniscule number of people, I never conversed with anyone either. I just wasn’t any good at mixing around with a lot of people.

Because of that, my world is narrow. I knew that, and I also understood that I was naive about how the world worked. gLh3RJ

Romantic or not, love was the most disconnected thing to me, so I didn’t feel at ease. My understanding couldn’t keep up.

However, as if I could somehow perceive something from Jill’s aura, I could sort of judge that he had a resigned atmosphere.

I didn’t understand that well, but right now, I was probably about to receive words along the lines of “I don’t like you anymore,” or “I’ve already given up on you.”

The thought was extremely uncomfortable. VDi9Ad

Was that really necessary to say to the other person?

When falling in love or when giving up on it, after you become a nuisance to the other person, do you have to throw everything away?

Was it a sin to just continue to dwell on it quietly in your heart, nurturing it without telling anyone? Was it a sin to have someone occupy your mind….?

It was strange. FrNlYU

Yet, Jill was going to give up on me cleanly. He, who should have far more experience than me, was sending out these words as if doing such a thing was really a sin.

Seeing that, somehow it felt very, very sad.

  1. Why is Lilius such a pessimist? Jill just got his misunderstanding cleared, so give him a minute to adjust. He won’t give up on you, no way, no how!

    Thank you for the chapter!!!

    • For someone who had been betrayed a lot of times, it would be a miracle if he kept being a sunny and bright person. As he said, he didn’t know what love was nor had he have anyone to give him some advice about life and love. He has only relied on himself growing up. And after all those traumatic events that happened, you can’t blame him for being a pessimist.

  2. okay so Lilius is upset that Jill didn’t check with him about being in a relationship (which I get, he should be upset), but then goes and says “by your aura, I can tell you’re giving up on me” without clearing things up either… hypocrite much?

    thanks for the chapter! <3

    • Why hypocrite? It was obvious too that if Lillius wasn’t able to clear up about him having a lover, Jill would’ve had given up on him. Didn’t Jill thought of giving up on Lillius saying “If I see him less, I would forget about him”? Honestly, Lillius’ character doesn’t trust people that easily. He lacks security and love. Jill might give Lillius the love and security he deserves but they’re still far from that stage.
