Memories of the PalaceCh44 - The Autumn Hunt Part 4

“Oi!”

Li Changyu turned away from the servant he was speaking with to look at the familiar voice that called him. Li Guangzhu trotted up to him in a light jog and Li Changyu dismissed the servant. He nodded to his Brother when he caught up and the pair silently walked to find a spot between the tents outside of prying eyes. Going into a tent wouldn’t allow them to monitor their surroundings, and really, would the Emperor be alone in a tent with his Wife’s Brother? While it wasn’t ideal, it was the least suspicious move. DswT5d

“We sent a runner to bring a bit of the poison back to Mother,” Li Guangzhu said in a hushed tone.

Knowing it was a long shot, Li Changyu still felt compelled to ask, “Did it look like a powder?”

Please visit chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

“Mmm…” Li Guangzhu frowned, “I am not sure. There was plenty of normal dust from the hay, so it is hard to tell if it was powder, but there were definitely some strange stems mixed in with the hay. There wasn’t any mold that I could see which could affect a horse.”

That doesn’t exactly rule it out. Li Changyu crossed his arms and rubbed his chin with a hand. He mused out loud, “Two of my main suspects are here. Either this was purely an accident on a stupid stablehand’s part, or either of them had a hand in it.” qr4Gs

Jin Ai and the Third Prince Uncle were present. While Jin Ai was an unexpected and annoying tag-a-long, it wasn’t that weird for Zhang Wenru to be present at the Autumn Hunt. He was an alpha, a member of the Royal Family, and a decent warrior and likely hunter in his own right. In fact, Li Changyu would perhaps be even more suspicious of him if he weren’t present and this happened.

“What exactly have you told our relatives, if anything?” For now, Li Changyu and his Eldest Brother were treating this the same as managing war campaigns. He trusted Li Guangzhu the most, and he was going to have to rely heavily on him going forward.

“What Papa and I told them was that you – the “Emperor” – are suspicious of things and would like to utilize our sources to help figure out what is going on. I kept it as vague as possible, but they know they should have specific tasks. They are keeping an eye out, currently.”

“Have them watch Zhang Wenru.” He knew he didn’t add the fact to be discrete. “Do you think any of them would be willing to come back to the Palace if I gave them enough money?”

Dschxk

“I can ask. What exactly are you thinking?”

“I will run this by His Majesty, but…I suspect there is a disruption of the Guards. They also never respected or helped me, either.” Li Changyu saw his Brother’s eyes flash, so he quickly added, “This way, if I can sneak in our people, I know that they will be loyal to me. Well, “me” me, that is.”

“Well–”

Li Changyu lifted a hand to stop his Brother when he heard the hurried steps of soft shoes and swaying of robes. He paused, anticipating a guard, but Song Rushen was the one that rushed past the tents they were between on one side. His head was down, hands tightly clutching something. Concerned, Li Changyu motioned Li Guangzhu along with a jerk of his chin and quickly followed. eMPkah

“Song Rushen?”

The Concubine stopped in his tracks, his back to them. He froze, his shoulders so stiff that they were up by his ears. The young omega turned around as they approached. Haphazardly folded up in his arms was Jin Xiyan’s cloak that Li Changyu lent to him. Song Rushen clutched the piece close to his chest in a trembling hold. His skin looked paler than usual, and his bright eyes searched around them before they dropped down to the ground. He gave an awkward curtsy while managing the bulky cloak.

“Your Majesty,” he murmured lightly.

Li Changyu frowned. It was obvious Song Rushen was scared of something, but remembering the recent events, it made sense. He reached out a hand to grab one of Song Rushen’s shoulders, but he flinched before Li Changyu’s fingers even touched him. Li Changyu’s worry ratcheted up a bit more. He moved to stand closer to Song Rushen and tried to sound comforting. HtiIQv

“Are you alright? I-Zhen-understand if you are scared. The horses running wild would cause quite a scare.”

“A-ah..um, no Your Majesty. This servant was still in the carriage when that happened.” After shaking his head, he looked at the cloak in his hand. He jumped slightly and then held out the cloak to him. “I wanted to return this to Your Majesty.”

Li Changyu was curious now and more worried than before. He gave a small, imperceptible nod to his Brother and lightly pushed Song Rushen’s hands away. “Keep it.”

He slid his hand behind Song Rushen’s neck and huddled down enough that they were eye to eye. Song Rushen didn’t jerk away from his touch this time, but he stiffened once more. This was most peculiar, because Li Changyu knew that Song Rushen and Jin Xiyan were on good terms. BO25uG

He’s never shied away from Jin Xiyan before… The way Song Rushen’s lip trembled and how he avoided eye contact looked more like guilt than the normal deferential respect of a Concubine. An idea popped into Li Changyu’s head and he dared to test it.

“Did my Royal Brother say something to you?” Li Changyu knew Jin Ai was around, which carried a risk. He didn’t have any concrete proof of anything, but for a lowly, idle Prince like Jin Ai to dare even proposition him, he had to have built up a certain amount of confidence. Li Guangzhu’s own posture grew defensive, watching the exchange with a fierce gaze.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Song Rushen’s eyes widened and he finally met his gaze. While this was all the answer Li Changyu needed, Song Rushen avoided an answer altogether. He shook his head, “This servant would not dare speak to His High–”

“Zhen would not blame anything on this servant,” then, for added reassurance, he motioned towards Li Guangzhu. “He can bear witness to Zhen’s promise. Whatever you say does not go past us three.” bU1nul

Song Rushen sucked in his lower lip and began to chew on it lightly. Li Changyu wasn’t too sure how Jin Xiyan was with other members of the Harem in private, but he tried to be as intimate as he felt comfortable with pretending. He lightly nudged Song Rushen’s lips with the back of a knuckle.

“Do not do that, and be honest with Zhen.”

Song Rushen cast his eyes downward, his thumbs rubbing against the cloak, but he did mumble out. “His Highness…did speak to this servant. He told me about the incident with His Majesty and the horse, and..well..he…” Li Changyu remained patient until Song Rushen finally finished. “This servant would not presume His Highness’ motives, but his words implied that His Majesty favored His Highness the Empress. His Highness asked what this one thought about that, but I did not answer.”

Sowing discord in your Brother’s Harem? Li Changyu arched a brow at that. Song Rushen was the one that was least likely to do any of the normal antics between those in the Harem. His meek, mild nature made him more a target than a perpetrator. But…he is still a Concubine to His Majesty…Having feelings of jealousy was possibly normal. afgT1S

Is the reason he’s dodgy because he is jealous? Li Changyu wasn’t sure he could physically comfort Song Rushen, because the thought made him nauseous, but he could try to pacify him with words.

“You need not listen to Royal Brother. Should he bother you again, seek this Brother-in-law.” He motioned towards Li Guangzhu again. “He will notify Zhen, and Zhen will make sure that it is taken care of.”

Song Rushen’s eyes shifted between them, looking to one and then the other. He settled his gaze onto Li Changyu and lightly nodded his head. He slid out of Li Changyu’s hold and stepped back.

“This servant thanks Your Majesty for His grace,” Song Rushen curtsied. “I will go put this cloak with my other things and tend to His Highness the Empress.” 1XtyLG

“You need not do that,” he said, a bit more rushed than he wanted. He did not need Song Rushen to figure out something was “wrong” with “Li Changyu.” He put on a smile. “Zhen did not intend for you to wait on anyone. You may enjoy this time as well, so you do not need to tend to His Highness.”

The timid Concubine bowed with a hushed yes, Your Majesty and left. They watched his retreat for a moment before Li Guangzhu moved to stand in front of him. Both brows were high, giving a knowing look to him. Li Changyu clucked his tongue.

“Do you think you could make an accident happen for that idiot?”

“I think His Majesty would have an issue with losing a Brother.” 5Vb34I

“Hmph. He has ten other siblings, he’s fine.” Li Changyu waved the concern away, but turned serious. “If anything, watch him too.”

Li Guangzhu’s expression darkened, his brows lowered in a scowl. “Speaking of him. Answer me, did he ever—”

“Ah, ah, ah!” His Brother was nearing dangerous territory, because it was harder to lie to Li Guangzhu. If he said no, Li Guangzhu would not let this go, so he went to his next best tactic. Li Changyu shoved at his Brother, shushing him. “It’s none of your concern!”

That got the reaction Li Changyu wanted. Growling, Li Gaungzhu grabbed one of Li Changyu’s wrists and yanked him closer. Before his Brother could get the upper hand, Li Changyu slung his arm around Li Guangzhu’s neck and squeezed. Li Guangzhu choked, but he twisted himself around enough that he did the same to Li Changyu. They stood in an awkward embrace that was like a dance with their shifting feet, each trying to try to gain ground. HCl0MI

Out of the corner of his eye, Li Changyu could see guards and servants beginning to take notice. With the hold on his throat, he could only hiss out, “Let go!”

Li Guangzhu’s face was reddening, but through clenched teeth he stubbornly replied, “You first!”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

A small crowd milled around, some cheering and jaunts coming from it. Li Changyu thought he could hear some people placing bets, while others were confused as to why the Emperor and his Brother-in-law were fighting.

Li Changyu tried to shove Li Gaungzhu back, but they danced around again and Li Changyu couldn’t get the necessary leverage. Even with this alpha body, he found Li Guangzhu evenly matched. This was strange, since Li Changyu could definitely feel that he was putting way more force than what he could do as an omega – even a stronger, trained one as he. lLCO72

It was then he realized that his Brother had always been fighting him not at full strength. The bastard! Li Changyu knew that there were plenty of alphas that were stronger than him, which is why he had to adjust his fighting style, but he always assumed he was at least equal to his Brother! He tightened his hold, really putting up a fight now.

“Halt!” said a gruff voice, followed by the shink sound of swords unsheathing. Li Changyu quickly raised his other hand.

“Sparring!” he wheezed. He dropped his hand to give a punch to Li Guangzhu’s side. The man groaned, but he didn’t ease up. “Isn’t…that…right…Brother-in-law?!”

“Yesh!” Spittle flew from Li Guangzhu’s clenched teeth. “His…Majesty…is curious how Li’s are trained!” FISdif

Li Changyu managed a laugh despite the choke hold. This was going to end with either one of them blacking out, or getting a few more bruises. Thankfully, someone’s voice distracted Li Changyu enough that he let go.

“It appears His Majesty can hold his own against one of our best soldiers.”

He dropped his hold in an instant and pushed away from Li Guangzhu. His Brother thankfully let go as soon as he resisted, so Li Changyu could turn to look at who spoke. It was Li Yunmeng, a man he hadn’t seen in quite some time.

Li Yunmeng did not change much over the years. His dark hair was plaited at the top and pulled back into a ponytail. His pale eyes were like jade, both in color and warmth. His skin was tanned from long times in the desert, and there was no flaw on his face. Now at equal height with him, Li Changyu could appreciate that his Cousin was pretty handsome. pmbBEc

They were close in age, just a year apart, so it was natural they would train together when Li Changyu joined the military. Li Changyu spent a good chunk of his teenage years with Li Yunmeng and a few other distant relatives. When it was time for Li Changyu to go on campaigns and gain merits, they separated, and Li Changyu hadn’t seen Li Yunmeng for three or four years now.

“Long live Your Majesty,” Li Yunmeng cupped his hands and bowed forward, “Your Majesty excels in fighting and governing His subjects. He is clearly all-knowing.”

If that came from others, it would be sarcastic, but from Li Yunmeng, it was a hundred percent genuine. One of his faults, in Li Changyu’s eyes, was how nice he was all the time. He was, for a lack of a better word, boring. Li Yunmeng was the type of guy to rescue cats out of a tree and be overly polite. No matter what Li Changyu would do, Li Yunmeng would never lose his cool or get upset. He was just…flat.

The crowd, now realizing that their little sport was finished, slowly dispersed. Li Changyu cleared his throat and adjusted his cloak before answering. “There is no need for formalities.” xraYkH

Still, as the ever polite guy, Li Yunmeng kept to formalities. “This subject would like to thank Your Majesty for the hospitality shown to the Li Family.”

Could this man have any more of a golden aura? Li Changyu suppressed the eyeroll and smiled instead. “Of course. Our Family’s Empress comes from a distinguished family, and deserves every bit of consideration.”

Li Guangzhu arched a brow in his direction, which he purposefully ignored. A voice interrupted Li Changyu’s response.

“What about my Family, Your Majesty?” Jd bfY

Li Changyu had to hide his flinch as his body appeared seemingly out of nowhere at his side. Jin Xiyan looked a lot better after a good bath and change of clothes. The outfit wasn’t one he was familiar with, and it made him tilt his head. It was a simple dark blue round collar shirt that had a subtle bamboo brocade of a slightly lighter shade of blue. It wasn’t that he disliked the look, but rather it suited his tastes rather too well. Jin Xiyan even put his hair up in a fashion similar to Li Guangzhu’s, with two braids on the side of his head into a top knot. He hadn’t expected Jin Xiyan to take such consideration into how he liked to dress, given the fiasco last time.

Li Guangzhu coughed into his fist. “Ah, Your – er… – Your Highness, His Majesty was just meeting our Cousin.”

That reminded Li Changyu that Jin Xiyan did not know much about the Main Branch of his Family. Hurrying to explain, he covered up his nerves with a laugh.

“Ah, yes! Brother-in-law was introducing me to your Cousin named Li Yunmeng. I understand you two have not seen one another in quite some time. Is that right?” Li Changyu looked between Jin Xiyan and Li Yunmeng. pdSrwA

Jin Xiyan’s expression turned…odd. His brows lowered into something of a bored stare and his features smoothed to a blank expression. He dipped his head to Li Yunmeng, “Greetings, Cousin,” there was an odd emphasis on the word that confused Li Changyu, “it has been some time. You will have to pardon me, I experienced some trauma and some memories are fuzzy.”

Li Yunmeng frowned and took a step forward, his hand outstretched, “Are you alright, A-Chang? I–”

“There is no need to worry!” Jin Xiyan hastily cut off Li Yunmeng, then clung to Li Changyu’s arm, holding onto it tightly. He rested his head on Li Changyu’s bicep, his cheek just nuzzling lightly. “His Majesty is taking the best care of me.”

What is this! Li Changyu’s eyes bulged and he stared down at Jin Xiyan. StXTI9

Jin Xiyan wasn’t finished with this coquettish display. He tilted his head back to look up at Li Changyu, a soft, gentle smile was on his face. Li Changyu was absolutely sure he’d never given when he was in his own body! Li Changyu was on the verge of swallowing his own tongue, and Li Guangzhu had a matching expression, but more of horror. For the Eldest Brother, he was confused about how to act. It was disturbing seeing his Brother’s body being puppeted like a lovestruck spouse, blatantly throwing their intimacy around.

Li Changyu tried to pry his arm out from Jin Xiyan’s hold, but he held fast. Li Yunmeng’s concern turned into a gentle smile. Clearly oblivious to the absurdity of the situation, he praised them instead.

“It is good to see that our Youngest Cousin is cared for. We have brought plenty of helpful herbs and medicines as offerings, so I am sure–”

“Are you implying that His Majesty does not have the best physicians?” Jin Xiyan huffed, “What better care can I receive other than from my Husband?” TVK2xq

The two Brothers exchanged bewildered expressions. What is this? Li Guangzhu mouthed to the other. Li Changyu could not even shrug in response because of how Jin Xiyan cuddled up to him. Li Yunmeng blinked, looked between the two of them, then laughed a little nervously. He looked at Li Changyu, his hands held up in a slight surrender.

“Your Majesty, I would never imply such a thing. Please, do not take it to heart, but simply an invitation to help–”

“Well–mmphf!”

Li Changyu promptly covered Jin Xiyan’s mouth before he could interrupt Li Yunmeng further. “Heh, ah, do not worry! Zhen knows how much His Highness’ Family cares for him. He is used to being doted on, aren’t you?” RorgHc

“Yes, well!” Li Guangzhu came to the rescue by stepping forward and clapping his hands. “Cousin, it has been a long time since I have seen you last. Would you like to help me organize the hunting gear so we can be prepared to set out at first light?”

Li Yunmeng’s personable smile returned, undisturbed by the interaction. He clapped a hand onto Li Guangzhu’s shoulder and nodded.

“Yes, let us catch up. Pardon us, Your Majesty,” he nodded to Jin Xiyan, “A-Chang.” The pair walked away after another set of farewells.

Jin Xiyan visibly bristled, his eyes narrowed at Li Yunmeng’s retreating form before glaring up at Li Changyu. He pulled Li Changyu’s hand off his mouth, his hushed whisper like a hiss. xmQeuf

A-Chang?”

“What?!” He hissed in return. Where is all this hostility coming from?!

Please support our translators at chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

“I will be asking the questions,” Jin Xiyan pulled away from Li Changyu and crossed his arms over his chest. “What were you two even talking about?”

“What are you…we were saying hello!” ZzQtGB

“Was that really all? You were smiling.”

Did His Majesty hit his head?! Li Changyu touched one hand to Jin Xiyan’s forehead and compared it to the temperature of his own with the other. “Are you running a fever?”

Jin Xiyan growled and smacked his hand away. Li Changyu tsk’d in response, and Jin Xiyan twisted his lips around into a scowl, his refusal to answer obvious. There was a pause, then he stepped forward, going toe to toe with Li Changyu.

“Why can I not call you A-Chang?” Jin Xiyan asked, rapidly turning the conversation. His voice trembled, coupled with a furious glare. gMZC6i

Li Changyu’s breath caught in his throat, his heartbeat a little louder now. He pushed a hand through his hair to pull it away from the sweat that beaded along his forehead now. Jin Xiyan was clearly having a fit of some sorts. Call me A-Chang? As if! Li Changyu looked around, hoping that no one was there to witness this. He grabbed Jin Xiyan by the ear and dragged him to a nearby tent. Jin Xiyan cried out and resisted, but Li Changyu only had to pick Jin Xiyan up by the back of his shirt to bring him the rest of the way. He unceremoniously dropped Jin Xiyan. Jin Xiyan recovered quickly, having landed easily on both feet. He furiously rubbed his ear, his glare ever present.

Li Changyu cut to the chase. “What in the Heavens is wrong with you?”

“That is how you respond? Yes or no, Li Changyu.”

“Yes or no what?!p8y4Ul

“I want to call you A-Chang!”

Li Changyu’s voice pitched higher, “Absolutely not!”

“Why not?!” Jin Xiyan all but yelled, looking more like a petulant child than someone who carried himself with the air of a gentleman and a ruler.

Li Changyu was growing more and more exasperated by the second. It was strange hearing him say the affectionate name, mostly because it did weird things to his heart. He carded his fingers through his hair once more and let out a heavy sigh. OXNo3

“What does that even matter? We have way more important things to be worried about right now!”

“How come the man you were betrothed to can call you A-Chang but your rightful Husband cannot?!”

“Oh!” he shouted.

It all became clear now. Somehow Jin Xiyan found out that he was once set up to be married to Li Yunmeng – a fact that he himself had forgotten until Jin Xiyan just reminded him. Li Changyu stumbled towards one of the supports in the center of the tent and rested his forehead against it. fWwFSE

Alphas. If I had an ego as half as big as an alpha’s I would be eight feet tall. It was foolish of him to think that this was anything but a tantrum by some possessive, grubby handed alpha bullshit. For reasons unknown to Li Changyu, his chest began to burn. The pain was dull enough that he could shove it aside, which is exactly what he did. He thunked his forehead once against the post and groaned. Moving away from it, he scrubbed a hand over his face and collected himself.

“He is my Cousin and yes my Family wanted us to marry but we didn’t!”

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

“Clearly he still shows affection to you.”

“I don’t know if you have realized this, Your Majesty, but my Family has a lot of affection for me!” ZbTirR

Jin Xiyan’s bravado faltered for a second at Li Changyu’s logic, but he swiftly regained it and raised his voice. “You expect me, your Husband, to allow him to be around?!”

Li Changyu began to lose his patience, matching Jin Xiyan’s tone. “There is absolutely nothing to be concerned about!”

“I have every right to be concerned! Another alpha with interest in you is–”

“Ugh!” Li Changyu’s teeth clenched. “You foolish alpha! He has no interest in me! He has no interest in sex! That is why we did not marry!” 1aJfzB

All the wound up tension in Jin Xiyan deflated, his shoulders dropping along with his scowl. His eyes widened, blinking like a dumbfounded owl.

“…What?”

“Li Yunmeng does not want to get married.” Li Changyu closed his eyes and pressed his fingers against them, rubbing them lightly. He was unsure how to explain it, and he hoped that his Cousin would forgive him for revealing something he swore not to say to the rest of his Family. “He does not find attraction to people. It wasn’t even a full engagement! We had one tiny little chat, and he explained why he did not want to marry, and I said no to my Family.”

A blush sprang up on Jin Xiyan’s cheeks. With the wind taken out of his sails, he looked sheepish and he didn’t meet Li Changyu’s gaze when he opened his eyes. Licking his lips, Jin Xiyan asked, “…You did not want to marry him?” RX21em

“No!” he yelled, adamant. “I would have rather met King Yama himself than get married! I wanted to go out and earn merits, not get shackled to some man and–”

And have babies…Li Changyu left the rest of his thought unsaid and glared at Jin Xiyan.

“Are you done with this? If so, we have a bonfire to attend to.”

He did not give Jin Xiyan any leeway to respond and simply walked to the tent flap and held it open. Jin Xiyan twiddled his thumbs together, his mouth opening and closing. The apprehension was clear on his face, with his pinched frown and downcast eyes. Li Changyu motioned for him, and Jin Xiyan finally relented. He exited the tent first, only sparing a quick glance at Li Changyu. byVled

Li Changyu took a long, deep breath. His gaze went skyward, staring at the clouds. Slowly, he let out the breath, and left the tent while grumbling to himself.

Fucking alphas.

  1. Somehow I missed the previous chapter, but I’m here on time for this one! Welcome back, Dom.

His subconscious us reminding him of all the pain he went through at JXY’s hands when he thought there was actual love between them. Rip my poor dude LCY.

Also, Song Rushen is still suspicious to me. I say he’s just acting like a meek little mouse but is actually in on a few of the plots against

      • What I’m thinking is that he was approached by Jin Ai to help get rid of LCY. I don’t think he would want to end LCY’s pregnancy via poisoning. Killing an heir is worse than killing LCY, who wasn’t particularly favored or powerful enough to matter, but I do think he was a part of what happened after. Maybe he left the vial of poison the Cold Manor. (Forgot the real name of the area tbh.) Or he helped hang LCY after.

As for motivation? He wanted to be the top wife. He couldn’t surpass whatshisnuts-tea-drugging-rapist Q guy, then LCY showed up and quickly became pregnant. Jin Ai offered some sort of power that Song Rushen never had before, maybe even offering him a spot as the empress if Jin Ai became emperor. Assuming the wives can get remarried if JXY dies, idek.

Or it’s something completely different and I’m just grasping at straws. Might even missed a hundred clues in the prev chapters, too. But he does seem suspicious.

        • I will not say if your theories are correct or not, but I will say that yes there are multiple villains doing bad things but there is one that is the puppet master and uses the other villain’s plots to their advantage .

          • My theories are probably way off base. If I’m excited about a novel then I tend to blaze right through all the small details. I’m cool like that. 😎

One puppet master? So he or she is dropping their finger into a lot of pies in order to get what they want.

SO, I will just say my far out theory is that it is JXY’s omega brother. His husband being murdered by his empower father was awful and I bet the bro is looking for revenge. He may like JCY, but he wants his own kid on the throne…if I’m not mistaken in the boy being an alpha. Dude, I need to refresh like crazy. Do you have a character sheet you’re willing to upload?

          • Just a correction, but First Prince/Zhao Lanhu’s husband is said to have died by illness (this was mentioned when we first meet grandmother in chapter 3.) This might not alter your theory, but I will say that the Emperor has killed people…you may have already suspected someone who was.

  2. He was well on his way to becoming A-Chang when he had to leave the palace. A quick re-read oh Dog Day Afternoon highlights what they lost even if Jin Xiyan doesn’t remember it yet. Their passion is at such a painful stage right now, but it’s obviously still there.

  3. JXY being jealous is a sight to behold! It was hilarious to see LCY’s body acting coquettish . . .

    Thanks for the chapter!

  4. JXY was like a daytime drama with that over the top coquettish act. Lol

Song Rushen acting sus. Hopefully he wasn’t coerced into doing something

    Thank you for chapter

  5. @Dom, I can’t reply to the OG comment thread so I’ll just take a new one.

Lanhu’s husband died of illness, yes, but I automatically assumed it was murder. Lanhu already has one alpha son, he could have another, and that’s a direct threat to JXY’s legacy. Or rather the former emperor’s legacy. Given the crap we’ve seen done to just LCY, it’s totally fair to say that dying of an illness = murder!!

And I know you’ve got all the answers since you’re the one literally writing the book, but! I’ll stick by that until the end chapter. Bc I’m stubborn. 👍

  7. ….i cringed and i hope to never see him act that way in my baby’s body again or I’ll make sure he can’t have kids 😁

    Also love the update!!❤❤❤❤

  8. Lol…..it was cute to see JXY trying to prove his propreity 😄 n I liked that LCY is not letting his weakness for JXY show so easily… n I want to see those more… now n after the switch back too..!!

P.S. I smelled a rat in SR (almost literally 😆) right from the start somehow… cant forget that he was the one who interacted with JXY right b4 his final collapse…n also the fact that he was the 1st 1 to know abt LCYs pregnancy among the concubines…n he was the one who was chummy with LCY than anyone else from harem .

His presents are fishy too.. could be carrier material of the poison …might be working for someone else or for himself .
