With regards to their discussion about QY and LZC’s relationship, I used ‘her’ when it was YT and XH because they assumed that QY was a female, and used ‘he’ when LZC was talking about QY. In Chinese, male and female pronouns (him and her) actually have the same pronunciation, but the characters are written differently. Since it was a verbal conversation, YT and XH did not realize that LZC was using the male pronouns instead.
