  10. well, I also feel the same about the similiarities with svss. Same trope blackbellied-easy to cry disciple gong x straight shou master, immeadiately running from the hero after ressurected, and even the characters reminded me so much of that novel. Like, Xie Zhiwei to SQQ, Mu He to Binghe, Author Gallant to Airplane bro, The perseverance close colleague from the same sect who always fight the hero-Cheese to Liu Qing Ge, Demon saintest Aunt Yun to Sha Hualing, The elegant beauty Tantai Meng to Liu Mingyan, The all rounder-Leader sect master Yan Zhifei to Yue Qingyuan, The only female master Xia Zhiqi to Qi Qingqi, The unreasonable princess Yin to little palace mistress, etc.
    • I think you’re right. I also feel like I’m reading a Scum Villain fanfic… The story beats and characters are uncanny at this point.

      The ML has mixed demonic sect/righteous fraction heritage, is a prince, united the “realms” in the OG novel, is indifferent to his original harem, tries for years to revive his fake dead Shizun who died for him, has dream powers and is prone to qi deviations that needs Shizun-care to heal… Did I just describe Mu He or Binghe?

      —I like Binghe better tho. He has good reason to be messed up about his Shizun with the way his Shizun treated him. With first Shen Jiu brutalizing him, Shen Yuan then coddling him and making him dependant, only to turn on a dime and throw him into literal Hell on earth. Like… That’ll mess up a guy. Honestly it’s amazing that he didn’t tear Shen Qingqiu apart when he came back. He just wanted some answers to why he was treated like that. But Shen Qingqiu would literally rather die than communicate, and everyone else hates Binghe due to fantasy racism, so it’s no wonder he has few fucks left to give… And yet, he doesn’t harm his and his Shizun’s original sect. Not even the martial uncle who comes to beat him up and wreck his house on a daily basis.

      Mu He tho… Yeah, he was mistreated in his first life by the Bai father/son duo, so taking revenge on them makes sense, but why the Hell is he so damn vicious towards everyone else? Including his Shizun, who literally never hurt him in either lifetime; not before Mu He snapped and raped him??? He even saw, when young, why imprisonment and force don’t lead to love, so his actions just make even less sense.

      To be honest, at this point I’m mostly reading to see how similar it to Scum Villain it ends up being, and because the translation quality is good.
