Jianghu Name DaCh3 - Pretentious and Far From Pure

The setting sun dyed the clouds, a golden-red spreading across the entire sky.

Therefore, it makes sense that since ancient times, literati and poets have yearned for the frontier beyond the heart. Who can look at this sky, this earth, this flying sand and the setting sun and not want to recite a few lines of poetry? TXvtqK

Zhu Yanyin was also captivated by this vast, lofty, yet bustling and worldly city. Standing by the roadside, he planned to mold the sudden surge of grand emotions in his chest into a timeless masterpiece, a poem for the ages.

Meanwhile, three streets away, the martial artists who were originally about to leave for dinner suddenly vanished like they had seen a ghost. Only a few daring ones, from a distance, managed a hesitant smile and said, “Li Li Li Li… Palace Master Li.”

Li Sui walked alone on the long street, his sword and expression as cold as frost. The black robe draped with sand and the fierce wind created a pair of giant crow wings behind him. At a glance, he looked no different from a demonic executioner ready to claim lives.

So, even the courageous ones lost their courage. After all, nobody wanted to be idle and give the Master Wanren Palace a reason to look at them more than once. E1W3zV

Li Sui had always looked down on these fools, and seeing them fleeing only intensified his irritation. Changing his plans, he opted to casually “pass by” the residence of the martial arts alliance leader without entering. His initial intention was to circle around to the western part of the city and return to Wanren Palace. Surprisingly, as he was passing through Xiangsi Street, a clear voice called out from behind him: “Brother, please wait!”

Palace Master Li didn’t think he was the one one being addressed.

As a result, the other party elaborated, “The tall brother in front wearing black clothes and carrying a long sword, please wait!”

“…”

Zhu Yanyin trotted all the way to catch up. His snow-like pure white gauze resembled a blooming white lotus, appearing pretentious and far from pure.

Zhu Xiaosui followed behind him, wanting to cry. How could there be another one with a sword? Just now, when he saw the young master brewing for so long, he thought he was about to recite a masterpiece that could rival ‘Visiting the Frontier.’ Who knew it was just a ‘brother, please wait.’

Li Sui looked at the face in front of him covered with a veil… not a fool, but seemed more foolish than a fool.

Zhu Yanyin’s gaze was fixed on his sword, and he asked sincerely and excitedly, “Excuse me, brother, where did you buy this sword?” xPet0I

“From a grave.”

“…”

Zhu Yanyin’s outstretched hand froze in mid-air. Surprised, he thought, turns out it’s an ancient heirloom weapon?

Li Sui, since entering the jianghu, had never encountered someone so unafraid of him. Immediately, he felt that the other person was exceptionally bold and unique, not like those other seductive women. No, it’s impossible. Why didn’t Palace Master Li Sui draw his sword on the spot? It’s entirely because the he didn’t know what the other party was wearing. Running around with a massive snow-white robe, the veil covering the face, it really looked unbelievably foolish.

Zhu Xiaosui dragged Zhu Yanyin and walked out three streets in one breath before letting go.

At this rare moment of calm, Zhu Yanyin took off the thin veil on his face, took a few deep breaths with relief, and said, “Why did you run so fast?”

“It’s better for the young master not to talk to people from the Jianghu in the future.” Zhu Xiaosui helped him tidy up his hair. “To avoid trouble.” WyTlGN

“Just wanted to ask about his sword, what trouble could there be?” Zhu Yan Yin looked at a restaurant in the distance. “Come on, I’ll treat you to a good meal.”

Palace Master Li was already out of the city by now, and the atmosphere in the restaurant had returned to its usual lively state. Everyone gathered together, whispering something, but when they saw Zhu Yanyin, they collectively fell silent.

The waiter, with a smiling face, led this master-servant pair to the best seat. “Young hero, what would you like to eat?”

Being addressed as “young hero” made Zhu Yanyin ecstatic, thinking, now that I’m a “young hero,” should I order some fiery liquor? Fortunately, Zhu Xiaosui still had some sanity left, knowing that his young master had many problems with food, so he carefully instructed, “A plate of pepper vinegar fish, not too sour. A plate of five-flavor steamed chicken, choose a tender one. A plate of lamb crystal dumplings, no green onions in the filling. A plate of seasonal tender spring vegetables, the soup should be three fresh. For rice, use cooked lotus seeds. For dessert, bring green bean chessboard cakes, not too sweet, not too dry.” SG PnZ

“Certainly, certainly.” The waiter was sweating profusely. The customers at the surrounding tables were also thinking, truly worthy of being on good terms with the master of Wanren Palace. Even the way they order food is so extravagant.

As for how this rumor of being ‘on good terms’ started, it naturally stemmed from the fact that, just a short while ago, this unknown young man in white unexpectedly stood in the center of the long street, chatting intimately with the Master of Wanren Palace. He even attempted to pull out the Xiangjun Sword. Since he didn’t die, it must be considered on good terms, right?

So everyone’s gaze became even more cautious, stealing little glances while eating.

Zhu Yanyin turned to the side and whispered to Zhu Xiaosui, “Have you noticed that everyone is looking at me?” tvdF7b

“I noticed,” Zhu Xiaosui replied, “but it’s natural for them to want to see Young Master.”

“Why?”

“Because they haven’t seen the world.”

Zhu Xiaosui confidently explained, feeling that it was indeed the case. These martial artists only knew about wielding weapons and killing people every day. Where could they have seen a truly noble and refined young master, especially from our Zhu family in Jiangnan? Our ancestral house, soaked in scholarly elegance for a hundred years, even the koi fish in the pond could compose poems. It’s just that our Second Young Master has had some bad luck, bumped his head, and had to come to this chaotic martial arts assembly. Otherwise, how could these people get to see him for free? fdVWU4

Zhu Yanyin: Is that so?

There are many people in the world who seek favor, and with Li Sui’s prominent position in the martial arts world, many sects were eager to make connections. However, they didn’t dare to approach directly. Therefore, some of them came up with the idea of getting close to this seemingly approachable young man in white. They wanted to subtly build relationships.

Zhu Yanyin was carefully picking fish bones.

“In today’s martial arts world, the most righteous and virtuous is undoubtedly Lord Li of Wanren Palace!” Suddenly, someone in the hall shouted loudly, startling the unprepared Zhu Yanyin, who instinctively turned to look. Ekqn8L

Seeing this, other guests at different tables also seized the opportunity to sing praises. Lacking specific words, they concocted flattering phrases, turning a feared demon king into a gentle and righteous hero. If it weren’t for Zhu Xiaosui finding it too noisy and dragging his young master away, the story might have escalated to “Lord Li, in order to save the world, braved the cold winter alone to built the Great Wall with his bare hands,” regardless of its feasibility, as long as it sounded moving.

Zhu Yanyin walked on the street, puzzled. “Why does that Lord Li seem different from what Brother Ming said?”

“Who knows?” Zhu Xiaosui muttered softly. “Anyway, people in the jianghu have dull minds.”

Wanren Palace.

As soon as Li Sui returned to the main hall, a subordinate reported, “The person who stopped Lord at Xiangsi Street has been identified. He is the young master of the Zhu family in Jiangnan. A scholarly family with no connection to the demonic cult or even the jianghu. This time, he came with the Sword Sect’s young master to invite Sir Jiang for a consultation. It is said that he accidentally broke his head a while ago.”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Li Sui listened with a furrowed brow. He originally thought the other party was pretending to be a pig to eat a tiger, but unexpectedly, it was indeed a real pig.

Breaking off a stem of the black lotus, he casually tossed it aside, impatiently waving his hand. “You may leave.” zlhEj7

Later, Jiang Shenglin also heard about this. Knowing Li Sui’s temper, he was curious about the scholar who had reached out to pull the Xiangjun sword so he sent an apprentice to go inform Zhao Mingchuan. Come for the medical examination tomorrow.

The northwest sky darkens late, and Zhu Yanyin stayed at the inn for quite a while. A hint of dawn was still visible on the horizon.

“Good Brother!” Zhao Mingchuan pushed the door open with a thud, unable to hide his joy in his words. “Doctor Jiang has arrived in Jincheng and invited both of us to meet him tomorrow.”

Before Zhu Yanyin could speak, he went forward, tightly holding his hand, and continued with great enthusiasm, “Many people who want the doctor’s consultation have already lined up, but he specifically chose you, and even I am benefited by it.” gIvd9S

Zhu Yanyin quickly declined, “But I have no acquaintance with the doctor. It’s probably due to Brother Ming’s influence.”

“I don’t have that much influence.” Zhao Mingchuan shook his hands repeatedly. “Even the alliance leader is scheduled for the day after tomorrow.”

Is that so? Zhu Yanyin listened with confusion until he saw off Zhao Mingchuan. He still couldn’t understand why he could be at the top. However, Zhu Xiaosui felt that it was natural, just as he mentioned in the restaurant. Those rough martial men had never seen such a celestial beauty like their Young Master. Any casual movement or lowering of the eyes looked like a painting. How could they not stretch their necks to get a glimpse?

Zhu Yanyin pinched his baby-faced servant. “Did you praise me like this before I lost my memory?” Nwzbe

“I didn’t praise you.” Zhu Xiaosui, full of backbone, mumbled vaguely. “It’s the truth.”

At this moment, outside, the news had already spread wildly. When the divine doctor Jiang Shenglin arrived in Jincheng, martial arts leaders and sect heads were nowhere to be found. Instead, he specifically named Zhu Yanyin for a meeting.

“Why?”

“Most likely because of Lord Li.” Yq0ao1

The afternoon encounter between the two was brought up again and spread widely. It went from “Second Master Zhu and Lord Li had a pleasant conversation on Xiangsi Street” to “Lord Li drew the Xiangjun sword on the spot and performed eighteen moves for Second Master Zhu.”

As for why he danced for him, it was undoubtedly due to their deep friendship.

Where did this deep friendship come from? The story dates back to a rainy night eighteen years ago.

Amidst the sound of the wind outside the window, Zhu Yanyin slept soundly and peacefully. Therefore, for the time being, he was unaware that under the dim light of those yellow candles, among the discussions at the surrounded tables by the guests of jianghu, he was no longer the biological son of his father but had transformed into someone picked up by the riverside. Oh, the power struggles and intrigues of the wealthy families in Jiangnan! “In your Zhu Mansion, besides those two stone lions, it’s likely that not even the cats and dogs are clean,” they said. Old Master Zhu, reputation tarnished: Furious.

As for Master Li’s story, it’s even more peculiar because, aside from a bitter and vengeful past, he can also transform into a young girl on the night of the full moon. Here’s how it happened: Master Li drew the Xiangjun sword and performed eighteen moves for Young Master Zhu. Master Li danced eighteen moves, Master Li eighteen, Master Li danced, the eighteen-year-old Master Li danced, dancing with the grace of a startled swan, spinning like a whirlwind, a green sash around the waist, wearing a rainbow-colored feathered dress.

Wearing the rainbow-colored feathered dress, isn’t that a bit hard for many women to accept? So occasionally, a change is necessary.

It’s quite amazing. If you don’t accept it, too bad. n6Opma

Phork: Fun fact— it took me an hour to attach those pictures for all the food that Zhu Xiaosui ordered. I don’t know why, but I always waste at least 20 minutes per picture to attach them in the pop-up box (┳◡┳) It’s quite a cumbersome process…Anyways, Exams ended! I am going back home! So, you can expect a more stable update cycle in the future. Also, are there problems in the indentation of the chapter? Please, please, please let me know. 1. Thank you for the translation! I’m on mobile and haven’t noticed any problems with identation. The only thing I’d like to mention is that you sometimes jump from using ” to using ‘ when marking dialogue which can be quite confusing at times (for some reason I’m used to ‘ to be marked as internal dialogue, as in thoughts of the protagonist, but that just might be on my end only.)

  2. Zhu Xiaosui is like having a filter when it comes to Zhu Yanyin. And those stories… 🤣 just from talking a little in the middle of the street…😂

  3. I love their logic and reasoning these people must me smartest out there~

    Kudos for the chapter (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤

  4. I laughed at the start of the rumors but had to cover my face in second hand embarrassment at the end lol
