Jianghu Name DaCh19 - It’s not impossible to rebuild a Wanren Palace!

The people of the Zhu Family all felt that Fengming Mountain is quite appropriate, tranquil and elegant, suitable for recuperation. However, since the divine doctor was leaving, everyone else could only follow. The day before departure, Zhu Zhang approached Jiang Shenglin and inquired, beating around the bush: would Palace Master Li also be coming with us? Is he still busy with his tasks at hand?  Ayā, it’s really tough on him; staying in inns all the time isn’t ideal. How about this: we can buy Palace Master Li a grand residence so he can sleep more comfortably and be satisfied.

Jiang Shenglin sympathized with this loyal old steward but said with some reluctance: “No need. The Palace Master probably doesn’t need a grand residence.” Ll0yBu

Zhu Zhang hurriedly added: “Or we can rebuild the Wanren Palace at the mountain peak!” Anyway, as long as we can keep him far away and away from our young master, it’s open to negotiation.

Jiang Shenglin felt a ringing in his ears. Wait a moment, did you just say you want to rebuild what?

Zhu Zhang continued to gaze at him earnestly, looking kind and benevolent, radiating the dazzling splendor of wealthy people in Jiangnan.

It was truly blinding. esMLug

In the evening, Li Sui also learned about the matter of “being able to obtain a rebuilt Wanren Palace if he was willing to stay in Fengming Mountain.” His expression visibly stiffened. He knew that many people in the Jianghu were afraid of him, but he never thought there was anything wrong with this “fear”. However, the Zhu Family was different. In addition to sharing the same fear and apprehension as others, the Zhu family also exhibited a very evident, perhaps not apparent to others but quite noticeable to Palace Master Li, a sense of disdain.

And, Jiang Shenglin was still jabbering on and on: “Do you really think Master Zhu has no chance of purchasing the Demon Cult?”

Li Sui snorted coldly, swept his sleeves, and left the guest room, the black hem of his clothes stirring a cold wind.

In the courtyard, the attendants were collecting the neatly air-dried quilts. When they saw this formidable ‘can’t-afford-to-offend’ master, they hurriedly held their breath, stood aside with lowered hands, and dared not make even the slightest movement, prepared to resume their work after he left.

Li Sui walked through the small courtyard, and with the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of the snow-white fluffy quilts hanging in the moonlight, stopping in his tracks.

The attendants were so frightened that their hearts were suspended in their throats.

Li Sui reached out, grasped the soft bundle of cotton, and forcefully pinched it into uneven wrinkles, then walked away. 6oqdZN

The attendant’s eyes were filled with confusion. People of Jianghu are truly hard to fathom.

Early the next morning, the Zhu Family’s convoy departed from Fengming Mountain in a grandiose procession. Not long before, the procession from the Wanren Palace also followed the same road, heading northeast towards the Xuecheng together.

Pan Shihou and Pan Jinhua stood at the city gate, watching the figures of the crowd disappear at the end of the mountain path.

Pan Jinhua, who had been injured by Li Sui’s sword energy at the neck, still had a thick white cotton yarn wrapped around him, and his speech was unclear: “As for the Weeping Willow Villa, do we need to personally keep an eye on it?” SUVoFM

“Not only do we have to watch, but we also need to ask the people from Wanren Palace who stayed in the city to keep an eye on it together,” Pan Shihou said. “Zhang Shen soaking in the poisonous decoction must be practicing some sort of sinister martial art. If you can eliminate him, it would help you earn some good reputation in the Wulin circles.”

Pan Jinhua disapproved: “An old, sickly man tied up in a vat, barely hanging on–how hard can it be to kill him?”

“You fool!” Pan Shihou scolded. “If you kill him now, who will know?”

Pan Jinhua hesitated: “Then…” x9fdpd

Pan Shihou thought about Li Sui’s effortless and unparalleled innate talent that could easily make him invincible in the world, and then looked at his son, who had average aptitude and had to rely on his own hard work. He sighed heavily in his heart.

On the mountain road, the Zhu Family’s convoy shimmered as it advanced. Initially, Zhu Zhang was worried that the people from the Wanren Palace, being so close to his young master, might cause trouble. However, after a peaceful journey for five or six consecutive days, he gradually felt reassured. On the afternoon of the seventh day, dark clouds covered the distant mountain peak. Zhu Zhang found an empty house near the town, planning to take shelter from the storm and set off again the next day. sdiy7L

Before long, the people from Wanren Palace also arrived.

Zhu Zhang: “…”

Zhu Zhang looked at the ruthless and insane expression of Palace Master Li of “It’s going to rain in the mountains today, so I plan to eat someone.” The words, ‘We’ve already rented this courtyard’, rolled in his mouth, but he decided not to speak them out.

Jiang Shenglin promptly intervened to smooth things over. Anyway, this place is very big. Everyone, squeeze, squeeze, squeeze. Come, come, come. You people in this half; we in that half. Hurry up and tether the horses. dgCVmJ

Li Sui said: “In the future, if you can’t practice medicine anymore, you can help with organizing red and white banquets in the village.” Specifically responsible for shuttling around in the crowd, with a smiling face, saying, “Enjoy your food and drink, enjoy your food and drink.”

Jiang Shenglin: To be honest, Who am I trying to keep out of the rain? Your mother, the bright moonlight illuminates the ditch.

Zhu Zhang had no choice but to arrange his young master in the innermost room, adding two or three layers of guards outside the courtyard to guard against fire, thieves, and the Jianghu. kpC5Me

Zhu Xiaosui asked: “Does the young master want to drink red bean and jujube kernel water?”

“Later,” Zhu Yanyin stood by the window and listened for a while. “It seems there are quite a few people from Wanren Palace.”

“Not many, not as many as us,” Zhu Xiaosui tidied up stuff. “It’s just that their voices are loud, so it seems noisy. If the young master finds it too noisy, I can close the windows.”

“Leave it open, it’s airy and cool.” Although Zhu Yanyin had dealt with Li Sui a few times, he had never seen disciples of Wanren Palace, and he couldn’t help but be curious. However, curiosity aside, he couldn’t just run out. In the story, Cui Yingying needed the help of a matchmaker to meet Zhang Sheng. Similarly, surrounded by servants, Young Master Zhu, who wanted to meet the demonic lord, could only regret it and continue reading and drinking tea alone. RF8NzH

Outside the window, thunder rumbled for a long time, but not a drop of rain fell.

Jiang Shenglin carefully pulled the silver needle out of Li Sui’s acupuncture point, concerned: “Your complexion doesn’t look good. Are you alright?”

“It’s nothing.” Li Sui sat up from the bed, grabbed his outer robe casually, and said, “I’m going to the mountains.”

“Are you going to soak in the deep pool again?” Jiang Shenglin had a headache, “Can’t you restrain yourself?” tjyJim

“If you’re not afraid of me going astray—”

“Of course, I’m afraid.” Jiang Shenglin interrupted him, “If it’s still not possible to restrain yourself, just take a cold bath behind and see if it helps.”

Li Sui shook his head: “I’ll still go into the mountains.”

Jiang Shenglin glanced out of the window. Although the continuous mountains seemed close, it would take some time to walk there. It might be better to come up with another solution. q8GQW9

After a while, Zhu Zhang hurried over: “The Divine Doctor is looking for me at this time. Is the condition of my family’s young master problematic?”

Jiang Shenglin quickly explained: “Uncle Zhang need not be worried. It has nothing to do with Young Master Zhu. I need some ice, the kind that was in the carriage earlier for relieving summer heat. I wonder if there is still some available?”

“We have plenty.” Zhu Zhang sent a servant to bring a small basket. Not knowing what the Divine Doctor needed the ice for, and fearing that the large ice blocks might not melt easily, he also sent a few delicate small hammers, sparkling with gold, giving an impression that stealing them back to him could make one rich for three years.

The shadow guards from Wanren Palace brought a large barrel of cold water and added the ice block into it, wondering why it somehow emitted a floral fragrance. dkHmg3

Li Sui also frowned upon entering the room. Jiang Shenglin promptly explained that the ice blocks used by the Zhu family to keep cool had flower juice added to them, and when they were brought in, they had a pinkish tint.

“… “

“What’s wrong with it being fragrant? It’s better than you going deep into the mountains and soaking in wild ponds!”

Li Sui’s anger grew stronger, so he gritted his teeth, stepped barefoot into the bucket of water, causing it to splash everywhere. RTksHQ

Jiang Shenglin hurriedly dodged, but ended up soaking in the water with floating petals.  Can’t you be a bit more careful and refined?

The black robe, soaked in the icy water, clung to his body, taking away some of the heat and pain. The fragrance of the flowers spread throughout the room, and after a while, it became unnoticeable.

Li Sui took a slight breath. He was someone unaccustomed to showing his emotions, so even though his body had relaxed extremely, it was only reflected in the subtle release of his fingers that had been tightly gripping the edge of the bath barrel, barely loosening for a moment.

The candle on the table flickered in the wind, making it difficult to concentrate on reading. The room felt stuffy, and it was unclear whether the rain would fall. Zhu Yanyin said: “I want to go out for a walk.” JfnyeZ

Zhu Xiaosui was surprised: “Now? It’s already dark.”

“Just in the courtyard.” Zhu Yanyin opened the door, and a cool breeze poured in, making it much more comfortable.

The servants throughout the courtyard were only responsible for protection, not restriction. Therefore, the Second Young Master Zhu leisurely strolled all around east and west, exploring every corner. Unfortunately, the disciples of Wanren Palace had retired early, and the entire row of rooms was in darkness, making it impossible to see anything.

Li Sui sat quietly on the rooftop, watching Zhu Yanyin walk around, come and go, and continuously stretch his neck to sneak peeks. This silliness was extraordinarily straightforward and exposed.  KkHt c

Zhu Xiaosui reminded in a low voice: “Young Master, let’s go back. It’s time for you to sleep.”

“Just a little longer,” Zhu Yanyin said. “What are you afraid of? It isn’t like Palace Master Li is around anyway.”

At this moment, a Zhu Manor servant hurriedly approached and whispered a few words in Zhu Yanyin’s ear.

Second Young Master Zhu: “…” PVyvE7

His gaze slowly drifted upward.

Li Sui was in a staring contest with him, an ancient longsword slanted at his side, his expression as cold as frost. Although there was no black robe billowing in the fierce wind, the aura of a bloodthirsty killer remained undiminished. All that was lacking was a blood-red crescent moon hanging behind him, and he would be the standard illustration for the Jianghu horror stories, capable of stopping infants from crying at night.

It could also stop Zhu Yanyin from crying at night – no, from wandering around at night.

Li Sui asked: “Do you need something from me?” u6R3im

Zhu Yanyin: “No!”

Zhu Xiaosui was very brave. Although his legs were a bit weak, it didn’t hinder him from pulling his own Young Master to run. As a result, he was backhanded by Li Sui’s and ended up on his buttocks on the ground.

Zhu Yanyin was also lifted onto the rooftop. Against the backdrop of the pitch-black night and the torches in the courtyard, his snowy white robe fluttered in mid-air, adding a touch of elegance and beauty.

“Ah!” O4E7wv

Sensing the situation turning unfavorable, the Zhu Manor servants wanted to follow, but Li Sui brushed them off the roof with a single stroke. A chilling aura penetrated their acupoints, leaving them unable to recover for a while. Each of them was shocked, unable to fathom the profound internal strength in the world. Zhu Xiaosui was also frightened, his voice breaking: “Palace Master Li, please release my Young Master!”

Zhu Yanyin, standing on the rooftop, had to comfort the young servant. Don’t cry first; I think I’m fine.

Li Sui ignored the people in the courtyard, gazing into the distance, and said: “Sit down.”

Zhu Yanyin calmly took a step back, feigned evading, “It’s getting late; I should go back to sleep.” FdTpvg

Li Sui rubbed his temples with his thumb: “I’ll tell you about the Demon Cult.”

Zhu Yanyin: Sure, I’ll sit down right away!

Another six hours of continuous giggling and smiling till my cheeks hurts came to an end while translating it. hyBotY

I am so damn coveting that little golden hammer. Where I can find it? No, I just want to find Young Master Zhu with Steward Zhang. And, then get myself everything. 😉

Seriously though Steward Zhang offering Palace Master Li a rebuilt Wanren Palace and a grand residence is the same as those rich moms in modern dramas giving dollars for the female lead to stay away from their sons. I didn’t know that I would like this trope one day. Time surely changes.

Translator's Note

I am unable to understand whether it is a typo from the author’s side or if it was intentional. In the previous chapters, we have been using “垂柳书院” (pinyin: chuíliǔ shūyuàn) which translates to Weeping Willow Academy. And, here, Pan Jinhua used “垂柳山庄” (pinyin: chuíliǔshūyuàn) which translates to Weeping Willow Villa (or Manor House).

It is a part of a sentence from the chapter 31 of “Tale of the Pipa” (琵琶记), a novel by Gao Ming.

“I originally directed my heart towards the bright moon, but the bright moon illuminates the ditch.”

  1. Hmmm, was Li Sui taking a cold bath because of his illness or because he was feeling a little bit “hot” when thinking of a certain someone? Cause Li Sui’s really seems to have a lot of trouble this chapter keeping Zhu Yanyin out of his head.

  2. It’s true Palace Master Li is so petty. And what if he enjoy secretly of the comfort of the family Zhu?
