  3. Haha the only time my son has gotten angry at me was when he told me who he was going to be with, and I said it – “Are you sure?? She’s so strict!” 😂 They’re going on 10 years so it’s a good thing I gave in and trusted his judgment. It’s funny that the most enthusiasm Mother Wei has shown her sons was over their partners.

    • I think Mother Wei likes the easy parts of being a parent and is probably better at big events than longterm support, you know? Raising a child is hard. Showing up and showing out for their graduation or engagement is much easier. She’s kind of like the ‘divorced fun weekend dad’ but without the divorce. Or seeing her kids every weekend. Still, I think Wei Qing and Wei Qiwan have learned to be happy with what she (and to a lesser extent their dad) can offer.

  4. Xaldnqoxnshdla so cuteeeeeeeee, I was holding in since the last chapter to write half a roman about how cute they are, but now my brain is empty. Just Yf (maybe Wei Fei soon? 👀 (lmao, that sounds like Weifu)) and WQ. So adorable.

    I have two questions:

    Does LS (WS???? Idk how that works in the chinese culture) already know? Did she try to stop Qiqi from hia stupid yet adorable phonecall?
    What is Yue Fei’s go-to for when you’re sick? I caught a cold and I would do anything for some good advices rn qwq

    • Normally, names don’t change on marriage in China, so Long Shouning is still Long Shouning. I don’t think she already knew, but I’m sure the minute she saw the photo, she would have known it was engagement and not marriage. Unfortunately, she was asleep, so Wei Qiwan was left to his own silly brain holes. Poor guy.

      For sickness: Sleep, lots of liquids, and (as a reader here told me when I had covid) hot and sour soup. A+, would recommend. If you can, avoid using a fever reducer for mild fevers, because the fever is your body trying to burn the illness out. But if you’re really uncomfortable, don’t torture yourself. Sitting (not standing) in a shower can be really nice too– warm if you need to steam your sinuses, room temp if you’re feeling uncomfortably heavy.
