Yeah, Wei Qing’s drinking tolerance probably isn’t as bad anymore as it was at the start of his calm down, but there’s a psychosomatic component to it– ‘when I’m drunk I get hugs, must be drunk and huggy asap!’ And yeah, Long Shouning has seen a lot of Wei Qiwan’s pampering of a little Wei Qing, so she might be surprised by Wei Qing’s friendliness, but she wouldn’t be surprised by Wei Qiwan giving in to it.
Overall, Long Shouning is happily getting along and probably imagining little kids riding Wei Qiwan like a horse. With Wei Qing as a blueprint.

I should do a file with all my favorite sentences from that story. Like “He is doomed. It is surprisingly pleasant.” Or “What a weird family this is shaping up to be. How nice to have a place in it.” and my fav fav “Sure he looks like an overgrown little fop, but Wei Qiwan looks like the world’s least interesting time-traveller.” (And I do also like the fact that Wei Qiwan is “armed” with the flowers and such. It is such a nice touch)

And yeah, they both revert a bit when it comes to their parents (and in Wei Qiwan’s case, when it comes to Long Shouning), which is a little bittersweet at times but suuuuuper fun to write.

Ngl, if Huang Luchuan was the mc in this story, I wouldn’t read it. I don’t have any particular issues with him, but I cannot stand manipulation, especially when it’s with bad intentions. The last time he appeared, and gave a little more insight into his life, all I could feel was dread. Poor guy. Yang Wusheng needs to keel off that helicopter, alone, and leave Huang Luchuan to heal.
Big Same! Manipulation is so hard for me emotionally/empathetically that even when I’m reading a ‘good’ ML/MC, if they start intentionally manipulating their partner, I have to drop the story because it just kills my interest and makes me not want them to succeed.
Luckily, although Huang Luchuan is slated to be his own MC eventually, it’s in a new world, (mostly) free from Yang Wushe~
