The Ghost King's KeeperCh93 - Mozen’s Inner Monologue

“Help us, please, our location is south-east of Saruli, we cannot win against the four Gods, we need help.”

That was the first time Mozen heard someone in his conscience. A timid voice desperate enough to catch his attention.  j0iaet

And the presence was that of a male cursed one, whose soul seemed to be tampered with, but was stronger than the others. His memories were a jumble of words and incidences, but not hard to read.

“Help will arrive shortly, what is your name, cursed one.”

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Mozen didn’t recall ever sending his people to Saruli, but if someone went there, it was not a bad cause. The more his people travelled, the more benefit and information they would bring. But it was certain for now, that they were in trouble and something had happened. This young man was not his own, who was he?

“Thank you, I, Ruzen, won’t forget your generosity, how do you want me to pay my debt?”  oxAt6e

Debt… a word he wasn’t unfamiliar with. It was strange though, how he didn’t want to let go of this cursed one. Someone who could enter his inner world, must be a strong individual. And moreover, Mozen had yet to find a cursed one for himself… he wondered if this new person could help his cause. His soul wasn’t pure, but did that matter, he just wanted a catalyst to do his bidding.

“Seek Us, and We shall meet again.” Mozen didn’t mind planning ahead. If not the present, in future he could utilize Ruzen. But Cursed Ones were difficult to handle, their emotional turbulence too significant and immature just like humans… yet it was not such a bad move to grab someone of Ruzen’s caliber. His internal strength was mesmerizing.

When he sent help, Mozen asked them to convey his personal message. A message in ancient text, one that Ruzen may even forget, but maybe, one day he would know. Because it wasn’t just a bunch of words, but had much fancier heritage. It was a spell, a verbal spell that could strengthen a being’s defenses.

Mozen hadn’t wanted to get attached, however, he thought it was a good decision to show concern and kindness to Ruzen. Mozen himself never understood what kindness really was, but being in existence for so long, he had caught on to the meaning of kindness. It was just another meaningless statement of superiority, termed in softer term to show magnanimity. One had many options when dealing with a problem, and if one encountered someone in a difficult situation, they had this option of helping the helpless. It was loosely termed as ‘Kindness’, just another means of distinguishing and exploring new options.

The strange thing was, that ‘Kindness’ could win over human hearts. It could save life and also influence the cycle of fate. By showing kindness one could also influence the mentality of a being. But it only applied to those who had intricate emotions. Ghosts certainly couldn’t understand ‘Kindness’.

Mozen didn’t know if his act of ‘Kindness’ would bear fruit, but it was a good choice to always be ‘gentle’ and ‘caring’ towards these new Cursed Ones. It was easier to influence this way.

Mozen also didn’t understand why he wanted this Ruzen, but if this being was powerful, it was never too late to show ‘consideration’. And with his failing health, it was always a good choice to keep such talent on his side.

The next few days, Mozen was ‘Kind’ and distributed a few extra pieces of Contact Stones to his followers that were going to go after Ruzen. He had an inkling that his followers would be able to keep this Ruzen in his grasp. Ruzen seemed to be lonely and in a dangerous situation, he would certainly seek Mozen if he had a chance.  m9nP5M

“The gift We are going to give you, do not let others know about it, until and unless We give you permission.”

It was ‘fun’, watching Ruzen take his gift under his own conditions. Ruzen’s thinking was very simple, a hard way of preserving his core and goals… but Mozen knew Ruzen didn’t have many choices. It was either him [Mozen], or the fate. And Mozen decided he was willing to be ‘considerate’ again. It was not that difficult to influence Ruzen’s thinking. Ruzen was stubborn, but not foolish.

Mozen was strangely delighted in being chosen over other options. His actions bore fruit faster than his predictions.

The next thing Mozen knew, he was already aiming for making Ruzen his Keeper. It wasn’t a difficult decision, for Ruzen was somehow very well matched as his partner.   BhOEmC

Days passed but Mozen couldn’t wait to have Ruzen by his side. Ghosts didn’t have many attachments with other species, but when it came to Ruzen, Mozen found him intriguing, interesting even. Ruzen was immature, and a lot more simple minded than Mozen, yet, it wasn’t very hard to digest. It was a new experience, to care for this tough minded cursed one, someone who grunted and huffed at his prewritten fate, but also accepted it.

Over time, Mozen started to wish for Ruzen to want him as well. It wasn’t ‘love’ that Ruzen described, but it was something more special.

When Mozen watched Ruzen being ‘embarrassed’ around him, he felt much better. The first transfer itself was very special to him. Having found someone who could deal with him, Mozen wanted to explore their bond some more.

But he resisted. He didn’t want Ruzen to fear him.  UAZ PR

Mozen had heard of it before, the term ‘possessiveness’. But he never thought he would feel it, until he found Ruzen.

Seeing Ruzen panting beneath him, asking for him, Mozen understood very well that he was beginning to grow possessive over his Keeper. It was something new, a shared experience that Mozen wouldn’t forget.

Mozen didn’t believe he was in ‘love’, he couldn’t understand that. But he did seem to know that Ruzen was not someone he could share with others anymore. He had wanted Ruzen to be his equal, be someone who wouldn’t ‘fuss’ and ‘cry’ when things got difficult. Someone who could support Mozen’s dreams and flourish along his side.

Now, after mating with Ruzen, Mozen suddenly felt that it was very difficult to let Ruzen grow to be his equal. What if one day, Ruzen would have too much freedom and he would run away?   Wr2M7j

Frowning, Mozen looked at the current Ruzen, who was sleeping beneath him, tired and lost, marks of red and purple dotting his skin…

Why was it that Mozen thought such absurd thing… run away? Where would he even run to? The entire world was unlike his castle. There was danger everywhere… where would he even go? And how would he be able to leave.

Spreading his hand over the sleeping cursed one, Mozen looked at his Keeper in deep thought. Since when had he become so possessive? It was a strange feeling. But he was well aware that his species was ‘possessive’ in nature, it was the only emotion they could feel.

Some scholar had long ago suggested to him that Mozen was not a typical ghost, he was stronger, more powerful, so it was inevitable that his presence was more attuned towards keeping his possessions around him. It could be one reason why he became a King, to acquire possessions over other races and beings. Maybe his actions against fate were also to hoard over his own possessions.  UQRYO1

Racing thoughts kept him from thinking anything else. His fingers glided over the sweaty smooth skin of Ruzen’s back, making the body shiver subconsciously.

Mozen felt himself smile, an action that was too humane, but also came naturally to him.

These past few days, Mozen did his best to cater to his keeper. To show him ‘kindness’, ‘care’ and ‘considerations’. He watched Ruzen the whole time as he mated him, so that there was no action that hurt his Keeper.

He was doing everything he could to make Ruzen see how ‘good’ a King he was. In this manner, he would show Ruzen that Ruzen didn’t need to leave him, ever. Ruzen could depend on him, he could do everything he wanted, if he stayed by Mozen’s side.  JaO4vz

Mozen believed it was a good choice he made, with Ruzen by his side, all of his possessions would be well cared for. Ruzen would listen to him, if he as well listened to Ruzen.

Such a fragile Cursed One, but his importance was not small at all.

Mozen would do what Ruzen wanted him to. It was also fortunate, that Mozen found their mating very interesting. To plunder his possession, it felt stimulating. Mozen decided, that he ‘liked’ Ruzen, and he would try his best to be ‘liked’ in return. They would both profit, and that was good.

If one day Ruzen wanted to leave, Mozen would let go, but until then, Mozen would show him what he would be missing if he ever left Mozen.   AReQcO

Mozen never wished for anything, wishing was just giving the Fate more chances at getting stronger. No. Mozen would never wish. He would twist the Fate if Ruzen so wanted him to. It would be ‘fun’.

Making a soft noise, Mozen laid his head over Ruzen’s beating heart. He now possessed Ruzen, how wonderous.

  1. Wow his highness’ pov was immense. This felt different from love stories it feels deeper.

    Thabkies for the chapterrr

  2. Thank you for your story!!

Mmm I love seeing the side and mind thats not ‘human’ how they think and tick. The contrast between the views of the word is always so amazing.. and frightening. =)

  3. It’s interesting how different he thinks, but is at the same time so careful around Ruzen even thought he doesn’t understand why humans want to get spoiled and pampered. ☺️

  4. Alguien me recuerda como se llamaba el rey completamente. Es que es tanto “mi rey, mi rey” que casi me olvido. Tuve que ir a los comentario antes de empezar el capítulo para saber quién era Mozen

  5. I don’t if it’s because I read the announcement before chapter 90 but I noticed that starting from 90, your writing somehow changed. It no longer has that adhering to rules feel to it, but rather an unrestrained one, like you were freed of a heavy writing burden.

  6. Interesting to see the kings pov, he is definitely not as emotionless as he lets on I think

    Thanks for the chapter

  7. This chapter is very interesting. It was always mentioned that the King as a ghost doesnt have human emotions, so it is actually nice to get a glimpse of his thought. I find it sweet that though he dont understand love, Ruzen is important to him. Im very excited to see how their relationship would progress.

Thank you so much for the update!

  8. Its fun to see the mind of the King. Very neutral and showing his kingly attitude/mindset. ❣️ 😍 Thank you for the chapter.

  9. At the point “Someone who grunted and huffed at his pre-written fate,” I could see a pouting chibi Ruzen with crossed arms and a little smoke puff and a straight faced chibi Mozen patting him on the head. Wow it was cute. I’m so glad you wrote this chapter because I was looking forward to getting a view into the king’s inner workings.

  10. it’s really refreshing to have an ML of another species thinking how to phone and not like a human when he’s not human
