The Ghost King's KeeperCh64 - What Herbal Tea can lead To

Regular Wednesday Update

~ PnavO4

When Ruzen opened the door, he met with a little child ghost who was too familiar, had the same choppy hairstyle and the hazy bright eyes.

Ruzen smiled, “Ah’Hen is here to meet me? Did someone send you to me?” Ruzen did not know if the child ghost understood him, but he was glad to see him. The last few days when they were together, Ah’Hen had been too distant, but now that he was here, in front of Ruzen, Ruzen felt relieved.

The ghost was not chubby, or even little anymore, fortunately the time of separation did not seem to have much impact on the him.

Opening the door, Ruzen let the child in, watching as the mum ghost scuttered inside the room with a familiar insight, not really looking around with excitement or even a buzz of curiosity. The ghost child was a little dull… almost dumb to certain extent.  hB30yN

With pity, Ruzen patted the ghost child’s head, closing the door and shivering under the remanent of cold that seeped in from the ghost. It was a familiar coldness that made Ruzen nostalgic.

“How come you are here, did you come here by yourself?” Ruzen made sure to accentuate every word, making his speech clear in case the child misunderstood or did not get the wordings. The ghost was a bit slow so Ruzen was patient.

“Waited for master, master did not come, did not come. I… came, came.” The scratchy words were repeated, as the Ah’Hen hopped on the bed and looked at Ruzen, then came down the bed and sat on the floor.

Ruzen did not know whether to laugh or cry, “You can sit of the bed Ah’Hen, I won’t get angry. Next time no need to ask for permission.”

The ghost child stared blankly, the pupil-less eyes piercing Ruzen’s heart with a certain unsettling feeling, until the child shifted towards the bed again and stood by it, as if in wait for Ruzen to sit there first.

Sighing, Ruzen decided to sit and treat his wounds, but alas the door was knocked on again, and Ruzen had to turn back to ask about the visitor, “Who is it?”

There was no reply, but Ruzen felt that he needed to open the door, like an instinct telling him to do so.

A little pensive, Ruzen did not tarry and came face to face with… air. There was nothing.  YlvXRd

He called out once or twice, but still felt nothing. So who knocked on the door?

Deciding to go out and explore, Ruzen had just stepped one foot out of the door, when he heard a deep voice from inside the room, “We came to meet you.”

Startled, and beyond befuddled, Ruzen quickly shut the door with a slam, glancing back to see the Ghost King standing in front of him, dressed in his peculiar blue hooded robes, hair shadowing his ears and eyes brightly flashing in interest.

But he noticed that the robes were a bit more common this time, a little slippery and silky and lighter. There was more threading at the end, and the fabric was particularly ‘softer’ in appearance. It did not seem to be the elegant official robes that the King often wore when he came to meet Ruzen. Those robes looked more impressive and dominating, but this one was not as brilliant in comparison.  MpHq4A

Of course, Ruzen felt that even the worst of robes from the King’s wardrobe would be 1000 times better than what he had seen so far.

“I did not expect your majesty to visit me today, you even brought Ah’Hen.” Despite the questioning apprehension, Ruzen felt happy. Even if the King appeared so mighty, he still came to see Ruzen, and that was enough.

His back still tingled with the residual heat from previous stunt in the forest, which made him decide to express his gratitude, because in the moment where he feared for life, the King’s precaution saved him from certain death. “I was very happy that your majesty gave me the gift of protection, I was saved just in time. I truly did not think that there would be such strong beast in the forest.”

The Ghost King nodded, his presence too high profile in the little room that had nothing but bare necessities. “We did not come here to receive your gratitude, but We wanted to express our delight in regards to your progress. You were impressive.”  GsDhmH

Ruzen felt his ears heat at the compliment, “T-That is nothing, if given time I would have progressed much further. Thank you for coming.” It meant a lot to him, he did his best and the result was appreciated, what else could he ask for?

“We could not sit still, We wanted to personally compliment you.”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Ruzen smiled brightly, “It was a bit difficult at the start, had to run my mind a lot, but I think I could have done better.” He was just being modest on the surface, but in his heart he felt pleased.

“Certainly, We were impressed.”  de2ZoD

“And I was hasty in many places, but it was-”

“Ruzen,” The King interrupted politely, “We cannot stay here for long,” the King seemed hesitant at his own abruptness, “We will see you after this competition is sorted, We visited in a rush, because We wanted to bring Ah’Hen, in these difficult times you need his presence.”

“Oh…” Ruzen couldn’t understand his own disappointment that was mixed in with gratitude, but well… he was still happy. Ah’Hen was back and the King’s purpose was clear. He knew that something was wrong with the day’s progress and the King might have come for another purpose, but he did not want to question the King’s honesty. For someone so high profile, coming to visit him was already considered enough. And maybe the King did not have time on his hand, so being hasty was a given.

With big eyes, Ruzen glanced at the King’s face, it was frosty and stern but still made him feel safe. Even if the King had other purposes in mind, in regards to him that is, Ruzen wouldn’t mind going with the flow. He had come a long way from when he had just arrived in this world, and after all the adventures, he felt it was good to adopt according to the environment.  knoUz

Shifting a bit back, Ruzen gave way for the King, who had not even stood for a few seconds and was already about to leave again. It was rather underwhelming.

At the last moment, Ruzen hastened to speak, “Your majesty, at least sit and have some… tea? I w-will find some herbs and boil some water, I learned it from master, it is a soothing combination.”

The King’s hand was about to open the door when he abruptly stopped, turning back to look at Ruzen, “You want Us to stay?”

The question sounded so dubious, Ruzen felt his heart beat faster, “Your majesty came so abruptly, I wouldn’t feel at ease knowing I did not even give you tea. B-But, if you are busy, I won’t pester.”  UACjY9

The King seem to understand his thoughts, “Then We will stay a bit longer, tasting your tea sounds delightful.”

Ruzen ignored his jittery heart, as he made space on the bed, asking Ah’Hen to move to the couch, the little ghost was generally a bit slow but this time he was rather understanding.

So, the King was invited to lay on the bed as Ruzen prepared the herbs he had seen on the desk previously, there was water as well, considering Ruzen hadn’t eaten yet and his meal provided complimentary warm water as an added afterthought.

Immersed in sorting herbs, Ruzen overlooked the sharp stare of the King who was lying on the side propped up on one elbow with the hand supporting his head. Such a lazy pose would have almost made the council members cough up blood. The King rarely relaxed in their presence.  KXLPOo

“Does your majesty need sweetened water or normal water?”

Ruzen did not have any sweetener in the room, if the majesty was picky, he would have to go down and ask for some from the kitchen, or wherever the food was supplied from. That would surely take some time.

“What does Ruzen deem fit?”

Ruzen was puzzled, but he said ‘normal’ by instinct.  LIvMk6

“Normal then.” Came the King’s natural forbearance.

Ruzen nodded, setting the cup on a tray to give it to the King, he even made sure to keep some extra herbs on the side as decoration. It was something he learned from this world. The people who would serve, would often place the ingredients on the side as presentation, it was meant to display what they had put into the dish and also a way of pleasing the eater. His master often did it when he made special dishes for Ruzen in his free time, so Ruzen copied his master’s technique.

When the King saw the tray placed in front of him, he sat up and slid the hood back. Then he picked up the cup, sipped a little and waited.

Ruzen had keener eyes after a month of tough training, so he knew the King hadn’t gulped it down yet, what exactly was he waiting for?  8KPjO1

The King then looked at Ruzen, motioned for him to come closer.

Ruzen thought that the tea wasn’t good and the King wanted to complain…? But he still leaned forward, only for the King to grab his chin, forcefully part it, and attach his own lips to his. Ruzen was still stunned when his mouth felt warm tea gushing in, it was naturally sweet and flooded his mouth until he gulped it down.

Satisfied, the King leaned back, but Ruzen was still stiff, his mouth tasted the herbs but his taste buds weren’t sending in proper feedback to his mind, because the heart was restless and Ruzen’s brain was certainly mushy.

“We like the taste.”  dwg516

Ruzen blinked, turning his eyes away from the sharp stare, the King’s face without the shadow of the hood made him look even more prominent, almost making Ruzen fear his handsomeness.

He had forgotten, he realized. Ghosts did not eat actual food, or even drank teas, so Ruzen’s blunder was handled in a very… intimate manner. He thought the King was very sly.

There was a very pregnant pause, when Ruzen’s soft voice lingered in the air, “Won’t you drink more? The tea is about to cool down.”

Maybe a dog had bitten him, but Ruzen’s messy head came up with a very strategic plan, which left Ruzen’s heart feeling tight. He wasn’t really like this, he wasn’t, it was just a cheeky question. But whenever he felt the King sharing closeness with him, his urge to prolong it always made itself known.  FgOxS4

Previously he had ignored it, was even skeptical about it, but this time he was feeling a little happier and so his mind came up with a plan.

It was embarrassing, but he had already spoken, the suggestion was not going to disappear until the King acknowledged it.

When the King finally made a move, Ruzen’s breath got stuck in his throat, he flushed bright red as his cheeks heated up, his body responding before he could, as a very warm tongue thrust its way inside his mouth, tasting him and tangling up with his own tongue.

He leaned into it, not knowing what to do as the tea cup and tray were displaced by the King to make way for Ruzen to sit.  bxk67j

Ruzen was certain his breathing turned unstable the moment he got closer to the King, his mouth opening wider for the King to explore, to plunder.

He had been waiting for this, Ruzen thought, his eyes already closed and his body angling towards the King. He felt a strong arm wrap around his waist as his body was pulled closer, his lips tingling with messy little bites and sucking.

Ruzen wanted to wrap his arms around the King in return, but he was unsure if he was allowed to do so, so he ignored his thoughts and focused more on the Kiss. It was a bit forceful but at this time Ruzen couldn’t bare the little feeling of something still lacking.

Parting away, Ruzen breathed in gulps of air, he was not a good kisser and didn’t know when to breath and when not to, even his techniques were sloppy at best, but he wanted something else. The King’s presence always bore a certain pressure, it was subtle but always present, yet this time it was like kissing thin air, and it made Ruzen feel neglected.  1rGIjM

But he understood that the King might not want his presence to be known, so he hid it.

Ruzen was about to lean in again, but his eyes suddenly fell on the robes his little ghost had been wearing. It suddenly made his dizzy mind sharp again, as he stiffened.

He had been behaving so shamelessly in front of Ah’Hen?

So embarrassing!  RsBSgA

Flustered, Ruzen felt the heat in his body go cold, “I am sorry, I held back his majesty.”

The King seemed to sense his discomfort and immediately turned to look at the little Ghost who had been sitting on the couch since long back. “Go back to your temporary den, your master will visit you later. Make sure to not linger anywhere else.”

Ruzen felt his heart beat faster, a little reluctant to send away the little ghost, but the King had already made his judgement, and Ruzen did not want to interrupt, a corner of his little mind still wanted to feel the warm kiss, it made him feel safer, knowing the King was around and catering to him.

Ah’Hen seemed to understand the command, so he quickly got up on his little feet and rushed out the room, but before the door closed, Ruzen was sure he felt a silhouette tagging right behind.  1CLyv

Before Ruzen could ask, the King explained it himself, “Our presence can be distributed in multiple ways, We will make sure to send your ghost back safely.”

Relieved, Ruzen smiled, but his smile soon vanished as the King captured his lips again and forced Ruzen down on the bed, overpowering his body with his own weight.

“We won’t leave until you are satiated.” The King made sure to speak directly in Ruzen’s ear. His long strands of hair brushing and tingling Ruzen’s neck.

“But what about Majesty’s work, I am already taking your time…” by the end of his thoughtfulness, Ruzen’s voice held no weight, he was already immersed in the King’s actions, as a deep kiss parted his mouth for more.  gu1viH

Really, Ruzen wasn’t complaining, it felt… really nice.

  1. Once again I read the chapter without pause. Usually I don’t like to comment,.but this is my second one. I want to really thank you for taking me elsewhere when reading. Thanks for all your efforts, I really find your writing exceptional! Keep it up for me please

  2. I love Ruzen’s subtleness and the King’s straightforward nature. It’s a personality trait that blended well between them, unlike other characters that I know who possess the same characteristic yet at most times didn’t easily end up with something like this.

There are a lot of contradictions with your writing, and even Ruzen himself is a bit hypocritical. But that’s what made him more realistic, and more likeable to me. He had his own view at a certain point but his actions sometimes didn’t match his own words, coming off as someone both aware and unaware at the same time. Aware in a sense that he wasn’t a single-minded character and is actually more intuned with his environment, circumstances and fate; unaware in a sense where he himself, due to ignorance his new world, would integrate and how his modern values and his new world’s values weren’t the same, but he’s unconsciously still tethering between both. He’s a growing, well developed character. I am really in love with this story. Thank you for the chapter!

  3. “There was a very pregnant pause, when Ruzen’s soft voice lingered in the air, “Won’t you drink more? The tea is about to cool down.””

My reaction to reading this: 😳😏

“He wasn’t really like this, he wasn’t, it was just a cheeky question.”

    Mhmm sure Ruzen, sure…

I love Ruzen and this story so much. Thank you for the chapter!!

  4. I have a bad feeling this King may not be the the real King, but the ghost that the King is looking for. The King wasn’t with Ah’hen, so did he just lie(I don’t feel like the real King would lie), or did he find Ah’hen roaming around in the building looking for Ruzen? Why didn’t they walk in together? Why can’t Ruzen feel the familiar presence he gets from the King? Would the real King put aside looking for a dangerous enemy lurking within to spend time chillin’ and pleasuring Ruzen? It’s not like ghost’s have feelings, Something doesn’t feel right…can’t wait for the next chapter

  5. i am loving the new dynamic. i think in the future ruzen would get more confident and outspoken of his desires like an equal, even if his shyness and embarrassment would never go away.

  6. I somehow get the feeling the King was pretending to visit Ruzen in order to not alert Ah’Hen and then kicked him out for Ruzens safety. Or maybe he really got sucked in by Ruzens clumsy seduction and kicked Ah’Hen out to not get disturbed by Ruzens discomfort that he was still there.🤔🤭 I guess it’s a mixture of both, since he has the ability to still follow Ah’Hen why stop in the middle of making out with Ruzen. 😊😘

  7. I canthelp but grin when Ruzen ask the King for more tea lol.

You really are an amazing writer

    Thank you for the update
