——This was a section of a mountain’s fault zone, where the displaced rocks created a vast space. It resembled a naturally formed suspended platform, surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs, while the remaining side opened up to the sea through a waterfall. Rushing water sprayed down from several cracks, creating a vertical silver cascade embedded in the turbulent ocean, a sight that sent shivers down the spine with just a single glance downward.

However, what surprised me was not the rugged terrain, but rather what was inside this fault zone. Astonishingly, there were densely packed hundreds, even thousands of pale blue, translucent, fish-egg-like spheres. Each sphere contained a comatose male figure. They were undoubtedly the naval soldiers captured by the merfolk. It seemed that Agares took their spouses to fight, and these men were placed in these ‘eggs’ to prevent them from escaping. In a way, isn’t this situation no different from □□ captivity? Trapped here without dignity or freedom, deviating from the life they had aspired to, their ideals and struggles seem meaningless. H43VpE

I questioned in my heart and took a deep breath. The only difference is that the merfolk are better at deceiving people. Agares’s attempt to expand the population through this method was an incredibly absurd mistake.

“Before the implementation of this war plan, I had disagreements with the king. However, he was unwilling to listen to my advice. In his eyes, humans were seen as a species that needed to evolve through merfolk infection…” He looked around with a sense of compassion, then turned his gaze back to me, his eyes carrying a heavy weight. “And, I greatly appreciate human culture, technology, and the world they have created. I wanted to establish peaceful diplomatic relations with them, but the king wanted to wage war and eradicate those who are different, and I was one of them. In resisting, I inadvertently harmed some of his warriors. That’s why I am referred to as a ‘traitor’, Desharow. I will help you rescue your friends. I stand with humans and with you. Do you believe me?”

A warm feeling filled my chest as I looked at him. After a brief hesitation, I nodded firmly. I never anticipated that Levjet would take the initiative to help me rescue humans. And indeed, controlling Asura was necessary to ensure a smooth operation. There was no reason to doubt it.

“Good boy.” Levjet patted the back of my head, his expression growing serious. He glanced around cautiously and then said, “Go find your friend. Remember, you can only take one with you. The more humans you rescue, the more pursuers you’ll attract. Go alone, they will be frightened if they see me.”

I hesitated for a moment, then nodded and cautiously walked into the midst of those spheres, searching for Davis’ whereabouts. However, I soon realised how difficult it was to find him among the hundreds of spheres. The people inside the spheres were in various positions – some had their heads lowered, some showed only half their faces, and some even buried their faces in their arms, making it impossible to distinguish their appearances. Fortunately, Davis’ hair was a relatively uncommon light brown colour. After inspecting dozens of spheres, I finally spotted someone with a similar build and hair colour to Davis’.

With a ‘pu’ sound, the sphere immediately burst open, splashing water all over my face and head, while Davis fell softly to the ground. As I helped him up, he also opened his eyes at the same time. However, in an instant, he went wild and screamed as if he had gone insane, ‘Go away! Go away!’ I was at a loss and covered his mouth, only to get a hard bite on the back of my hand. I endured the pain and used my knee to restrain his kicking and thrashing legs. Davis’s size was similar to mine, and he seemed quite weak. I managed to press him down onto the ground, controlling his struggles, and lowered my voice, “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, I’m here to rescue you, Davis!” gxYvnA

I tried my best to calmly call his name, but my throat couldn’t help but turn hoarse due to the rising sourness.

Davis and my fates had changed; in this time and space, we hadn’t met yet. We were no longer childhood playmates or fellow students in St. Petersburg. He didn’t recognize me.

But calling his name had an evidently soothing effect. Davis’s struggle gradually subsided. His scattered gaze focused on my face, and then he looked down in alarm, seemingly recognizing me as a human, which instantly relaxed his tensed body. Immediately after, he sat up, hands covering his head, not uttering a word, but his hands began to claw and scratch into his arms as if self-harming himself.

“Don’t do this, Davis! I’m taking you, taking you out of here, we’re leaving right now!” M5GER3

I quickly grabbed his wrist, feeling extremely distressed. However, he stood up as if shocked and forcefully pushed me away. I couldn’t maintain my balance and slipped on the wet ground, accidentally breaking several of the egg-like spheres. Davis stumbled and headed straight for the waterfall. I saw his slender figure standing in the rushing water, which was divided by the crevices. He walked unsteadily towards the edge of the waterfall, and then, I heard him break down into painful sobs.

“No! Davis! Davis! I beg you, don’t do anything stupid!”

Ignoring the few awakened individuals around, I climbed to my feet and hurried after Davis. However, I was worried that my pursuit might drive him to jump off directly, so I stood at a distance and gradually moved closer to him. Davis’s agony was no less than what I felt when I was violated by Agares. The shame, the shattered self-esteem, and the humiliation of being forced to submit to the dominance of a more powerful non-human male. It’s something no man could easily accept. Despite having truly fallen in love with Agares and not succumbing to Stockholm syndrome, those memories still haunted me. Even now, just recalling them sends shivers down my spine.

And what Davis experienced was an even more intense shock than mine – he went from being a naval officer tasked with driving away the merfolk to becoming their captive, subjected to sexual assault. If it were me, it was no surprise that I would also have the urge to commit suicide immediately. AdqXp1

My nerves were tense to the extreme, fists clenched, fingers digging into my flesh as I said tremblingly, “Hey, Davis… calm down. I’ll get you out of here, take you back home, okay?”

“I can’t go back, I can’t go back…” Davis’s shoulders trembled slightly as he shook his head desperately, gasping for breath. “I feel my body… changing. I saw scales growing on my legs, my ears…” His voice seemed to grind between his teeth. “That merman, he said, he said I’ll also become a merman… I can’t be saved.”

As he spoke, he leaned forward, spreading his arms wide, like a bird set free——

“No!!” ijqrHe

I let out a deafening roar, charging forward to grab his arm, but it was too late. All that remained in my line of sight was the disappearing figure of Davis being swallowed by the sea, along with a circle of instantly vanishing waves. Beneath the waterfall, the speckled rocks that jutted out from the surface could be seen, resembling the teeth of a devouring monster. Yet, I was painfully aware that it wasn’t the ocean that swallowed Davis, but the whirlpool like love and desire of the merfolks.

Suddenly, I felt my legs go weak, and I knelt at the edge of the waterfall powerlessly, staring blankly at the sea surface, my mind buzzing with noise.

“It’s truly a pity…” Levjet’s voice suddenly sounded behind me, and then I felt myself being lifted up by a pair of supple and strong arms. In a daze, I allowed myself to be held, and as I turned around, I saw the awakened humans within those broken spheres. Some looked puzzled, some were crying bitterly, and others curled up and trembled, as if a group of prisoners whose bodies and minds had been completely destroyed by torture. I had no doubt that in the next moment, they would choose the same path as Davis.

“What should we do, damn it? I can’t just leave them here.” I muttered to myself, yet at the same time I knew how impractical it was to try and take them away from here. My headache almost seemed to explode, and my heart felt like it was being tortured by being fried in a pan. 9QrSHN

“But we have to leave, I don’t have the ability to take so many humans with us. Little Desharow, perhaps your friend still has a chance to be saved. Do you want to go find him? Do you want to stay here and continue turning a blind eye to the plight of your own kind? Do you now realise how ruthless your Agares is?”

The soft whispers in my ears pulled at my consciousness like a magical spell. I shook my head, then nodded again, not knowing what to answer, my thoughts in chaos. But before I could make a decision, I felt my body being hugged and pulled backwards, a sudden sensation of weightlessness washing over me, and the thunderous roar of the waterfall filled my ears. My line of sight was cast to the sky, soaring into the deep blue sky. This scene overlapped with the memory of embracing Agares and jumping off the depths of the cliff, and my heart was suddenly twisted in pain within the howling winds.

The next moment, with a plop, seawater soaked my entire body. As I entered the water, the pressure from all sides squeezed my chest and back, almost suffocating me, but Levjet immediately pulled me out of the water. I gasped for breath, wiping the water from my face, and saw that we had landed behind the waterfall. The rushing water poured into the sea with a deafening roar, and the splashing water formed a hazy white mist. Looking around, what astonished me was that Levjet had placed us precisely between the gaps of several rocks, not a fraction off. Any slight deviation would have resulted in a torn body and crushed bones, showing an accuracy comparable to firearm shooting.

I wondered if Davis had managed to land between the rocks in the seawater as well, surviving by luck. QJnTIY

With these thoughts in mind, I immediately pushed away from Levjet and climbed onto a higher rock. Standing up, I searched near the waterfall for any trace of Davis.

And at this moment, I faintly caught another sound through the water flow, coming from outside the waterfall.

“Don’t go out, Desharow.” Levjet warned softly. He swayed his tail and swiftly swam to an area with slower water currents. I followed him and leaped onto another reef. As I looked outside, I couldn’t help but widen my eyes.

On the sea surface that blended with the night sky, strings of blue light clusters were flickering atop the rolling waves. They followed the tall crests of the waves, getting closer and closer. At first glance, it looked like a fleet of spaceships sailing the universe. As they drew nearer, I realised those light clusters were actually much larger devilfish, each carrying a merperson on its back. These merpeople rode the devilfish as if they were riding huge birds in the sky. The scene was truly spectacular and awe-inspiring. FxWHpc

The largest and most dazzling one led the group, moving at an incredible speed. Without a doubt, it was the leader. As they approached even closer, I indeed saw Agares supporting himself on its broad, undulating back. His robust upper body stood tall and proud. His pale skin was adorned with a layer of icy, stern blue, that emitted a glow in the night sky. He looked like a radiant ice sculpture, the epitome of a triumphant and returning king.

I held my breath, every cell in my body was screaming. I almost felt like flying forward to greet my leader. However, I quickly noticed something else; the humans brought by the group of merfolk behind him and the beams of light coming from the ships in the distance, moving towards them.

The author has something to say: l3tG5W

But don’t be fooled by Lev’s good appearance… He intends to manipulate and control Desar to seize the throne. Compared to the infatuated Zhuang boy, he’s a bad scheming old fish.

Zhuang Zhuang seems to be going wild upon discovering the fire in his backyard… Also, Xiao De’s estrus is approaching.

Translator's Note

Again Agares and literally translate to Strong Strong. And Chinese people think that repeating names twice makes them cuter so Author is saying it in a cute way

    • I don’t think that’s how it works… Levjet will use Desharow to sit on the throne. After all silver tails can challenge the throne and he has seen agares infatuated with Xiao De so its easy to manipulate the smaller person before taking down the king. Levjet is smart and understands both worlds but Agares… rn he is an emotional fool.

      • That part about Desharow will be revealed later…as for Agares… This tight lipped fool was causing misunderstanding so much that i really want this lord Sashimi to become a sushi instead..

        But it won’t prolong 😅😅

        • Oh I hope the sashimi really stops hiding things. It’s not that hard but he’s a mermaid monarch… idk this guy(merman) is frustrating me. So much that I think I want Asura and Yukimura side stories to deal with the headache lol

  1. I actually knew that Levyet is evil but at the same time Agares is no better. I pity those humans, Davis but especially Desharow. Little boy was created for one thing only and as he said he has nothing. He was robbed from everything it is truly terrifying and sad. I hope that there’s going to be some justice for him

  2. Thank you again for your hard work! I

I kind of figured there was something weird about Levjet, rutting on Desharow, and then trying to play a gentle caring father. He really understands humans well since he thinks that tricking someone like this is good, despite knowing the attachment. I do wonder though, since Merfolk breeding with humans causes an infatuation, what would happen to Desharow if Levjet had gotten away with something untoward?Once again thank you for all of your hard work! ♪٩(✿′ᗜ‵✿)۶♪

  3. I finally caught up… dang it… Levjet has a clear motto and Desharow uses the humanity he has for all the wrong reasons. No logical thoughts just agreeing with whoever consoles him… sighs. Xiao De I hope we can see an intelligent you soon
