A World AssimilationChapter 37

Shen Yue clutched her skirt extremely tight when she saw the big deletion sign. It could be seen at a glance that her post was deleted by her own clan’s PR.

With a wobbly smile, she sighed and sank back on her bed, wondering when the clan would summon her for sending out that wild post.   oVQhG

It wasn’t as if she didn’t understand, she was old enough to know the right from wrong and what rules had to be followed, but how can she just keep watching on and do nothing when her own brother was expelled from the clan.

Not that she was alone, her mother was not in good spirits since the day the clan made that announcement, and her sister, she had been busy with certain things which Shen Yue considered was for their brother. By chance she had heard her sister consoling their mother, talking about keeping a separate house and some savings for Shen Yu when he returned.

Shen Yue wasn’t sure about her brothers though, but she hoped they would at least do something for Shen Yu considering their blood relation. Although always cold and in their own world, there was still hope for some empathy from them.

The live session was still flickering in her room, and she watched her brother being taken care of by someone else.   AgwvPT

Someone who wasn’t her, or even their family.

Someone whom they had a feud with.

Hunter.

A mysterious demonic cultivator, who was the only Black ticket holder of their generation.

How ironic.

Her brother found support from an outsider instead of them.

[Lookout: I saw what she posted, she posted about her brother, I will quote her here, “I hope my brother succeeds in his path, whatever choice he makes for himself, I will always support him. I just hope he lives a happy life.”]

[Kinu88_White: Aww, I saw it as well, I was happy to note that at least his closest family members are still supporting him.]

[Diera_Black: I just want to see the clan when Shen Yu achieves glory. It would be a pleasant slap to their faces.]  31WAQ8

[JimRight: I just think Shen Yue and everyone in the family is a Green Tea B*tch, what ‘I support him’? She sounds so fake.]

[JiangLi: The clan deleted the post, meaning they were against it, which I find interesting, considering how high sounding they were about not ‘educating Shen Yu well’. I mean, now that Shen Yu is doing his best, in the very least, they should support him.]

We’re sorry for MTLers or people who like using reading mode, but our translations keep getting stolen by aggregators so we’re going to bring back the copy protection. If you need to MTL please retype the gibberish parts.

[Brianomera_black: The clan won’t support him, upstairs, it is common knowledge in business world that you don’t hype your dark history. Shen Yu did something bad, the clan was scolded for that. If they need their business to keep running, they will untie every knot that ever connected them with Shen Yu. No wonder they deleted Shen Yue’s post.]

[Ku’fu: I am wondering how Shen Yu would react to his clan’s disownment news. But I think, with MSA in the picture, and now an added Hunter, the direction would change entirely to a new situation.]  VZ4D 1

[enthusiastSashi: I think Hunter is training Shen Yu to keep him as his own person, you know how demonic cultivators are, they kind of mold people for their own use.]

While the live session was mixed with all kinds of feedback and commentaries, Shen Yu woke up not long after.

It was already bright outside, not the afternoon hue, but the awfully pale light of early morning. Yawning and stretching his limbs from the blankets, he crawled out of bed with a delicious healthy soreness to his muscles and joints.   j QhiL

The pain held a sense of achievement he never had before.

Since the impurities in his body had been nullified, he had felt the change, even the everlasting dull pain of his dantian had lessened, and he was able to work and breathe like a normal person.

It would take him some time to really work things out and get into the crux of medius cultivation, but with Kai noting down his progress personally, Shen Yu believed Kai would also help him grasp the medius art, at least the basics of it.

“Awake?” Kai said, entering through the door and closing it shut with his foot. In his hand, he had a food tray and a small wooden box.  qbNfZa

Perking up, Shen Yu pointed at the wooden box, “Is it something delicious?”

In response, Kai directly handed it over, “Take a look and see.”

A little interested and in a much better mood than yesterday, Shen Yu opened the wooden box, “…wah, a dagger?”

And the dagger was not old and dull. The edges were shiny and sharp, the body was beautifully carved with vines. It was a white dagger, really delicate, and especially lightweight. Holding it up felt like holding paper.   eWK4N2

“This is so beautiful!” with bright eyes, Shen Yu mumbled out a few more praises, making amateurish swinging movements with it.

The dagger was no longer than the size of his palm, the handle just reaching his wrist, it was at most 30-40 centimeters (about 1.31 ft) long.

“This is for you,” Kai said with a laugh, reaching out to pinch his cheek, “handle it with care, it is an elven weapon.”

Shen Yu was surprised, “…for me?” he looked back at the carefully carved vines and the light metal body, no it seemed to be something else, almost felt like plastic but had more shine and luster to it. “Where did you get this?”  tMZsIy

“Found it in a black market, south street.”

Shen Yu wanted to ask how he was so quick to find such a resource, but considering Kai’s reputation in their original world, he may have his own way of finding such places. Naturally, it would feel intrusive to ask more.

“Starting today, you will practice with this weapon and hone your skills,” Kai kept the food tray in front of Shen Yu and walked back, “I am going to take a bath, eat up before we leave.”

[NamSeok_WhiteBlack: The dagger is really beautiful, I am amused by how thoughtful hunter is. Collecting a bow for Shen Yu, then a dagger. The whole set.]

[Augustus_White: Is it only me, but I find Hunter servicing Shen Yu very pleasing.]  XFf5hQ

[KukuiceBlack: That dagger has spiritual energy in it, a lot of it. My energy reader was blinding to look at. I wish Shen Yu would use it from now on, it will good for attack and defense.]

[Rupa: Considering Shen Yu’s elven status, I hope he uses his arrows and bow as well, else it would be a waste for a weapon.]

Since Kai was taking his time in the bath, Shen Yu made sure to close off his session, what if some people tried to peek at Kai from his session? He hadn’t been careful yesterday but considering that Kai never asked him to shut down his sessions, Shen Yu hadn’t thought much of it.  Ne u9j

But now that he recalled, he would be careful to leave a sense of privacy for the other. Because they were so close to each other, it was not difficult for viewers to spy from another’s session.

Of course, Shen Yu wasn’t worried that people would spy on him from Kai’s session, everyone knew that Kai kept his sessions turned off every waking hour. Only when he slept did he switch it on.

For a while, Shen Yu just sat there, looking at the white dagger, and eating his fruit salad at a slow pace. It was unknown whether elves could eat anything else, or if they lived by absorbing natural energy, his diet, until now, was just fruit and some sort of flour base which went well with fruits, and he didn’t want to take any risk.

Chewing the last of his breakfast, Shen Yu found that he barely missed those spicy dishes, “I will have that after leaving this place…” he wasn’t heavy on experimenting with his own diet intake.  spAwob

When Kai came out, Shen Yu hurriedly asked, “Do you want me to turn off my live sessions for you?”

Kai was a little surprised, as if he hadn’t thought about it, his hair dripped with water as he rubbed off the access wetness with a hand towel. “Not really, I always block off the view by using a shadow shield, so it’s okay. As for you, I also enclose the space around you with my shadow shield, so nobody can really see anything when you shower or shit.”

Blinking, Shen Yu nodded, his straight face not showing any complicated feelings, “When did you buy your clothes?”

Kai was wearing a solid black shirt with black pants and a black high heeled boot; Shen Yu wouldn’t know how someone could wear boots inside the bathing space, but Kai did so anyway.   86A4Nd

Shen Yu noted that Kai looked extremely handsome in a black overall, very smart, a bit like modern man, only, his shirt material was much coarser and there were some rough stitches of white on the collar.

“Bought just earlier, with your dagger.”

He must have kept it in his space… Shen Yu got up to wear his own boots, carefully lacing it up into snug fit. He didn’t have any luggage on him, so he kept the dagger and the wooden box inside his space ring. As for when they would leave, Kai simply opened the door, and the two of them walked out of the room, meeting up with the gremlin by the counter.

“This is your map to central city, have a safe journey.” The gremlin very dutifully handed over the map, and bid them farewell, he was certainly not very talkative.  UNgs4j

Shen Yu nodded towards the gremlin, his cold temperament melting a little upon remembering last night. Kai gave a small nod as well, leaving another silver piece as tip, making the gremlin extremely happy.

Shen Yu didn’t ask where they were heading to as Kai reverted back to his lazy self, uncaring and unbridled, gesturing for Shen Yu to follow along.

Leaving town was very easy, the people who saw them gave them directions rather frankly when asked, it seemed to be the result of all the rumors floating about a tyrant master and his intelligent elven slave. Not that Shen Yu minded what they thought, rumors had a way of changing and getting spicier with time.

Picking up the deposited silver card, Kai and Shen Yu journeyed through a wide passage of muddy road, natural forest and small hills running along the edges. On their way they seldom saw carriages and horses, or any living being for that matter.  tClKHW

“Isn’t it very desolate here?” Shen Yu asked in his usual monotone, and Kai answered back with his usual careless hum.

“I feel that there is a reason behind this. Do you think it is related to our mission?”

Kai yawned, “Ai, kitten, everything can be related to our mission. The faster we end this the better.”

Shen Yu wanted to ask ‘why?’ but he also felt it was reasonable to end a mission sooner. Living in another world for a long time would affect their mentality, and who can say if the mission would fail if left rotting for a longer period?   LF crQ

Over time, many things change, and even the transmigrators would get exhausted after a certain period. This was not a leisure private travel, there was danger hidden everywhere and even the strong needed to be on guard all the time.

The two silently walked for a long period, just like before, crossing the forest with huge trees and shady shrubs. It was only natural that everything lost its appeal after seeing it for a long time.

Dusk was almost around, and Shen Yu was quite hungry after only having some fruits in the morning and some pink peaches in the evening. Kai took care of the feeding time, strangely similar to raising a pet.

But Shen Yu as always, didn’t mind, his tolerance threshold for Kai was unfathomable, even he himself did not know what would make him angry when facing Kai.  qBhIxG

Of course, the man was not teasing him with his food, he was very obedient when giving fruits, and took care of everything, teasing the little one here and there to pass time.

They reached the other town fairly faster, the route being much more clearer than before.

This time the town was shaped like a fortress and the architecture was much more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.

This town’s guard room was inside the gateway, and the guard only came out after they entered through the gate. The gateway was not big, but just the perfect size for a human to enter. Shen Yu guessed the town may have other gateways for incoming wagons and caravans.  uKUzDl

“Name, identity, age, purpose,” the Guard asked very simply, and after eyeing the elf, he added coldly, “And no elves allowed inside.”
