A World AssimilationChapter 21

Time ticked slowly and Shen Yu wasn’t aware of how long he stood there receiving a gentle massage from Kai.

For him the time had more or less stopped and Shen Yu chose to stay the way he was as long as he could. It would be better to think of it as some sort of nightmare rather than a disaster. But after waking up, the hell of suffering won’t disappear, it was like a trap of horror which couldn’t be broken no matter what   y9NB6h

So much suffering, receiving contempt throughout his life, Shen Yu felt tired, he wanted to give up, his heart was full of unrest and sadness. He wanted to just lay down and stare at nothingness.

“I gather you got trapped in there right after waking up.” Kai’s deep voice sounded over Shen Yu’s thoughts.

It was a statement, not a question, and Shen Yu nodded to that. That was what happened. It was horrible. He trembled just thinking about it.

His doom would forever haunt him, he was back to being the useless specimen. Maybe that Kite had been right-  CTR6hO

“What did you eat before coming to the mission, did you take some pill?”

Listening to the calm question, Shen Yu didn’t respond very quickly, he first looked up at Kai, who was silent and present right there, close enough to touch, and then he wondered why Kai was asking this.

“…my Clan gave me energizing pills, but they are allowed,” he spoke hoarsely, there were certain pills which couldn’t be eaten after selecting a mission or while fulfilling a mission. It could be seen as rigging a mission and Universal Law punished those who didn’t follow the rule.

“My Clan…” Shen Yu just wanted to sleep, but he had to answer Kai, it looked to be important, “My clan knows what can and cannot be eaten.” Although he hated his clan, he wouldn’t smear them in dirt in front of so many other clans, he belatedly realized that his MWBS session might be still transmitting. His family was a part of that clan, even if he hated his clan members, he won’t harm his loved ones.

And…

Was his family watching him right now?

Would they be disappointed in him? Would his clan hate him for standing so close to Kai, for taking his help… for being so weak?

Kai looked at Shen Yu’s appearance, and thoughtfully said, “Your clan may not be troubling you, but there must be someone who gave you something which shouldn’t be given. Either that pill was disguised as something else, or you are carrying something on you which couldn’t be taken to mission world.”  k7Jale

“It can be a reason for your difficult mode of operation. There would be no penalty, but the Universal Law would still make things difficult for you seeing how you started unfairly. It gave you a position of the most difficult character one could have gotten.”

Shen Yu was lost of words, it was a possibility, because he was really trapped inside, his mission also looked simple but wasn’t, to be recognized by a tribe of manic elves, he had to either go against that dooming tree or would have to play friends with them despite their atrocious rituals.

“…now what?” he asked numbly, would his core stay this way for the rest of his life? The thought was frightening. He felt himself shaking again.

“You can’t cultivate your core now that it is destroyed, would take several years to form one again,” Kai spoke facts, and Shen Yu bit his lips to keep from crying and screaming in hate, his greatest hope was smashed to pieces right after coming to a place that could give him wings. He wanted to be spiting mad, absolutely angry at whoever was behind his failure, but he couldn’t muster up any hate inside him, he felt empty, literally.  57D0i

What would hate do? It wouldn’t bring back his dantian.

“…but you have options,” Kai said slowly, his hand caressing Shen Yu’s hair in order to calm him, and Shen Yu stood motionless, not making any move to stop the sensation. His face was pale, an unhealthy color as it glowed under the reflection, he even closed his eyes and leaned into the touch, finding solace in the fleeting warmth.

“You can either start afresh, lay your foundation and take your time with cultivating a Dantian, not knowing when it would be formed again, or…” Kai paused, and Shen Yu already knew what he was going to say, “you can practice the Medius Cultivation.”

[Sheesh456: Hunter seriously, Medius cultivation? That’s just sending Shen Yu to his death early.]

[Medusa_latino: Hunter is actually helping that kid? No wonder he let him bite so freely all over…]  TPl 2q

[Worgert_Black: I get Hunter, Shen Yu doesn’t have much of an option here]

[LightMassacre: I can tolerate demonic cultivators, but this is just disgusting]

[I_am_no_1: You all have something against a Medius cultivators? Come and talk to me.]

[Bibitch69: Tell me I am hallucinating, these two… are they close, because Shen Clan rarely extends a friendly welcome for us demonic cultivators]  FSaoWm

[I_like_fcking: Shen Yu’s crying face is quiet a delicacy, want to console him and see if he cries the same on my bed… hehhe]

[Porsian_AugustaClan: As someone from an older clan, I personally don’t see Medius as a joke, but Shen Yu shouldn’t forget his heritage, a righteous cultivator needs to be more diligent.]

[BurnedOut_Black: This is really absurd, Medius Cultivation?? Are you kidding me, Hunter is trying to poach a righteous member right?]

[kuku: …erm, this is really a good question, for someone who has a broken Dantian, what would they choose?]  P1Co6Y

[Laiga_RiggardClan: Hunter and Shen Yu together are a perfect match, one is a rogue the other is a fool, our world was just lacking this pair.]

[Balastic_BhaduagClan: You all are squirming as if he already chose Medius Cultivation, there’s still time, I don’t think someone from a righteous clan would go for such dark arts.]

[KateM90_black: I am glad I can see hunter this mission, but I don’t feel like I can digest such an explosive news]

[PwermaBlack: Hunter is giving shen shen such a good neck message, I feel bad for shen shen but I want them to throw me more food, I feel low on fuel]  FnQopa

[Badambadam: Will Shen Yu be okay? This is a big hit to him.]

[2746395: What a tragedy]

[jigglign_234: Medius cultivation is not a good option, they need to think of something else]

The air was heavy around them with unspoken thoughts. It wasn’t that cultivators weren’t able to form back their Dantian again, but it took a very long amount of time and patience to reestablish a core, and their foundation from before certainly mattered. Someone like Shen Yu had less than 10% chance of forming a core again in his entire lifetime. If this had been something easy, his clan members would have already broken his weak Dantian and forced him to form another one.

Medius cultivation on the other hand was very rare, a form of cultivation which did not differentiate between the Demonic and the Righteous paths. There were no stages to cross, there was no requirement of a Dantian.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Medius was a practice which focused on cultivating the meridians, the apparatus needed was just one network, there was no need for the entire circuit. One couldn’t store energy anywhere, but they could always ‘grab’ energy from around them, and use it for themselves as they went on grabbing more, it was usually a take and use method, there was no storage or generator in between.

Due to several restrictions faced when without Dantian, there was no inedia, no contractual relationship with any beast. Even weapons used by Medius Cultivators were special, they couldn’t hold on to the normally used and rewarded spiritual weapon.  1Fw7e4

Medius practitioners’ efficiency depended on the amount of spiritual energy they could gather from their surroundings, it was not very convenient all the time, but was certainly not distasteful. Now what ticked people the most, was the system of parasitism that came with practicing Medius Cultivation.

It simply meant that the cultivator of Medius art would have to depend on a power house to provide a constant supply of energy in case the surrounding environment lacked spiritual Qi. This restriction was the reason for loss of immortality in Milky Way Galaxy. Because if energy wasn’t in abundance, how were you supposed to live for infinity?

Everyone wanted to live forever, it was a craze that wouldn’t stop. Simply the reason for high favoritism towards Mission Worlds.

Medius practitioners could live for infinity, only if they could find a generous donor of Spiritual Qi and Life essence. Those who were cultivating to achieve immortality, they were not kind enough to part with their life essence, nor their spiritual Qi, it was not only difficult to manage, it was also extremely taxing.  K3F1ZS

By parting with the essence and the Qi, it was conclusive that the donor’s own cultivation level would fall or regress if they weren’t strong enough to cope with the loss, even immortality won’t stay effective if the dantian wasn’t capable of strong regeneration.

Majority of Medius cultivators would either die of old age or would forcefully keep human cauldrons for building up symbiotic parasitism. This led to major revolt from the society, such attitude was simply going against both cultivation paths.

Universal Laws didn’t forbid this form of cultivation, it was a matter of finding the right donor and also, having the strength to manipulate both light and dark matter. Medius cultivators could be horrifyingly strong, albeit they needed the right source and environment to work with.

If Shen Yu decided to follow this path, he would face a lot of trouble.

  1. … I’m gonna be honest, at the beginning of this book, I never thought it would turn out like that! I’m very glad I was wrong, this is so exiting! 😍

    Thank you for the update!

  2. In this situation I don’t see a easy path, if he choose build a datian in the old way he’s gonna died ☠️☠️☠️ (from oldness) but if he choose the Medius how he’s go keep in real life – out of the world – because is no way Hunter be with him in his parents house easyly. The only path I see is with Shen go with one 3° path (lmao) 🗿🗿🗿

In addiction, I want punch out this guys in the chat being like “Oh mY hOw DuMb hE’s RuNnInG iN tHe fLoReSt, No In ThE CleARiNg” like bruh ☠️ HOW is he supposed to leave HE IS IN THE MIDDLE OF FLOREST (IS FUCKING TREES AROUND YOU) or when “He’s need to be diligent” BITCH WHAT?!? THIS GOLDNE BOY IS DOING HIS BEST YOU AKAOIAJAJSJWJW

thank you for the update 🗿🌹

    • +1 to your entire comment. He really doesn’t have an easy decision to make and those people in the chat are so easily swayed one way or another. I bet that ONE person who was like, “what’s wrong with medius cultivators,” is actually one of the few. Or just an unimaginably intelligent, reasonable viewer.

  3. The story is really interesting. I want to read . Wondering should I pile up more chapters or at least wait for the finishing of this arc? Well I am getting impatient. Great chapter as always

  4. Medius? As in a parasitic dual cultivation isn’t it?

But Dual cultivation did not need a constant supply of Qi from the donor while medius… was like a mantis who ate their mate during mating…
