After Marrying The Villain, I Became PopularCh70 - “Except for Xia Wan”

Xia Wan’s night was full of dreams that were filled with his worries.

In the dream, Xia Chengzhang pleaded with Xia Wan not to return to Xue’s house, and the sorrow in his eyes was so intense that Xia Wan couldn’t bear to meet his gaze directly. ZxaQpj

Luckily, whenever Xia Wan began to sink into the depths of his dream, a powerful arm would always rescue him, pulling him out in time and holding him in a tight embrace.

The hug felt warm and big. Being close to it made Xia Wan feel really safe and relaxed in his dream.

Despite feeling uneasy, Xia Wan managed to sleep until dawn.

As Xia Wan opened his eyes in the morning, the room remained dimly lit. The thick blackout curtains effectively blocked any hint of sunlight, creating an environment where it was hard to discern the exact time. 2NC3Me

He found himself comfortably nestled in Huo Yu’s warm embrace. His lips rested against his strong chest, and the familiar arm that had rescued him countless times in dreams was securely wrapped around his waist. Their bodies were together very closely and tightly entwined.

The scent he breathed in was pleasant, fresh, and clean, with a gentle and comforting mildness.

Xia Wan unconsciously licked his lips, momentarily forgetting that they were pressed against Huo Yu’s skin. In the next instant, his tongue gently swept across Huo Yu’s chest.

Huo Yu’s silk pajamas quickly developed uneven watermarks.

Xia Wan was surprised for a moment, then he bit his lip and quietly giggled.

“Why are you laughing?” Arms around his waist tightened, and Huo Yu’s lazy voice suddenly came from above his head.

With a smile, Xia Wan raised his eyes, locking gazes with Huo Yu’s partially open, not-yet-awake eyes.

“I’m very happy to wake up in your arms” Xia Wan expressed. q4wJ0f

Huo Yu smiled lightly and shook his hand, “Didn’t you do something bad?”

Xia Wan raised his upper body and positioned himself on top of Huo Yu’s body as he asked, “Isn’t it acceptable Eldest Master?”

Huo Yu has strong muscles, and his skin is a bit warm. When Xia Wan lies down, he feels the muscles on Huo Yu’s body tightening and relaxing. Without hesitation, Xia Wan raises his hand to hold Huo Yu’s lower back.

“Not now.” Huo Yu said, his voice slightly hoarse, with a very light nasal tone. 7nmILX

“When will it happen?” Xia Wan asked, snuggling his face into Huo Yu’s chest. The warmth of Huo Yu’s body enveloped him, and the broad embrace provided a strong sense of security, making him feel protected and comforted.

If only he could hug Huo Yu and sleep like this every day.

“Is it okay to do it tonight?” Xia Wan asked.”I want to do something exciting and relaxing.”

Huo Yu lifted his hand, gently smoothing Xia Wan’s hair ends, and then rubbed the back of his neck, “We’ll talk about it tonight.” bJRxo9

“Humph!” Xia Wan exclaimed, irritated. “I grew up a long time ago,” he added angrily.

“Um,” Huo Yu responded softly, and after a moment, his voice deepened as he said, “Okay.”

“Ah?” Xia Wan was taken aback for a moment, then hastily scrambled up onto Huo Yu’s shoulders.

As the realization of Huo Yu’s intention sank in, a tinge of shyness colored Xia Wan’s expression. He nervously bit his lip. mL20NQ

Xia Wan’s subtle nervousness lingered as Huo Yu’s hand gently cradled his cheek. With a tender touch, Huo Yu encouraged him to raise his face. As their eyes locked, Huo Yu looked at Xia Wan’s gaze with a careful and thoughtful expression.

Xia Wan has thin eyelids and really thick eyelashes. Even though he cried last night, you can’t see it now. His eyelashes make pretty lines on his eyes. He looks different and special when he smiles—all gentle, not like Huo Yu at all.

“Yeah,” Huo Yu said, looking at Xia Wan for a bit. He seemed pleased. “There are no dark circles under your eyes. You must have slept well.”

“Do you sleep well, Eldest Master?” Xia Wan asked, “Is it nicer to sleep by yourself or, um, with two people?” 0ednrs

“It’s better to sleep with you as two people,” Huo Yu said with a warm smile.

Xia Wan’s face lit up with a smile, and he gently lowered his head to place a kiss on Huo Yu. In that moment, worries and troubles seemed to fade away, replaced by the simple joy of being close to Huo Yu.

“I was thinking,” Huo Yu murmured, pressing the back of Xia Wan’s head between kisses. “Others only need to meet their parents-in-law once, but I have to meet them twice.”

“Afraid?” Xia Wan asked while tracing Huo Yu’s thick eyebrows with his fingertips. 3flbXZ

“Yeah.” Huo Yu said.

Xia Wan, not fully convinced, questioned, “Is there anything else the eldest master is afraid of?”

“No, I wasn’t afraid of anything in the beginning,” Huo Yu explained, “but for your parents, I am a bit afraid.”

Xia Wan’s fingertips delicately touched the corners of Huo Yu’s lips, tracing the shape of Huo Yu’s lips to the top. whk Zm

In response, Huo Yu opened his mouth and gently bit down on Xia Wan’s fingertips.

A tingling and warm sensation wrapped around his fingertips, making Xia Wan laugh. He asked, “What are you scared of?”

Huo Yu stayed silent, his gaze fixed on Xia Wan’s hand.

“They’ll like you, just like my dad does,” Xia Wan said softly, feeling warmth spreading through his body. ayVYGo

“What if they don’t like me?” Huo Yu asked, his voice sounding a bit uncertain.

“No,” Xia Wan stated firmly, a resolute expression on his face. “Who wouldn’t like the eldest young master?”

Please visit chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

Huo Yu tilted his head when he heard that, and then his chest shook a bit.

“What are you laughing at?” Xia Wan wasn’t pleased with Huo Yu’s behavior. His fingertips were once again free, and he started to walk away. Soon, Huo Yu caught his wrist. hFtdSV

“Huo Yu,” Xia Wan approached, putting his forehead against Huo Yu’s and gently rubbing their noses together. “It’s enough that I like you. What others say is just their thoughts. My choice is the important one. Once I decide, that’s it. It won’t change.”

Huo Yu stayed quiet, but his eyes sparkled brightly.

“Before, you asked me to only look at you,” Xia Wan said, “Now it’s your turn to only look at me.”

He repeated, “Just look at me, Huo Yu.” ElhZsI

There was a faint sound of the door opening and closing outside, accompanied by two hushed conversations.

Huo Yu gently lifted his chin and gave Xia Wan a sweet kiss on the lips, tenderly showing his affection.

“Um,” Xia Wan responded with a touch of anxiety. He continued, “Do you think my dad will be able to accept it?”

The worry in his eyes reflected the uncertainty about his father’s reaction to his decision.

“Yes,” Huo Yu said. He lifted his fingers to smooth out Xia Wan’s frown. “Don’t worry, just go ahead.”

He smiled again, “Everything will go well.” U819a

Upon hearing these reassuring words, the tension in Xia Wan’s eyes gradually melted away. Huo Yu gently pulled him up, and the two of them changed their clothes together.

After a quick wash, they walked out together.

In the kitchen, there was the sound of water running, and Aunt Zhang was busy.

Xia Chengzhang, wearing glasses, was sitting by the window, holding his phone and watching the news, just like he usually does. 1TY3qe

However, even though he acts like always, his eyes seem a bit empty and lost.

Hearing the sound, Xia Chengzhang turned his head. The hand holding the phone shook a little, and then slowly dropped down.

He was scared to see “disappointment” in Xia Wan’s eyes, so he didn’t dare to look up the entire time.

He was like someone carrying a heavy load. It’s like the camel that’s scared of the last bit of straw that might make its back break. iETY2

But Xia Wan stayed close to him as usual.

“Dad.” He came over and sat down beside Xia Chengzhang. “Did you sleep well last night?”

Xia Chengzhang lowered his head and nodded without much expression.

Over the years, life’s challenges had made him seem much older than people his age, and after last night, he appeared even older and more tired than usual. MFeb1u

Xia Wan gazed at Xia Chengzhang silently, a sense of sadness filling his heart.

“Dad.” He pressed his lips together and then took Xia Chengzhang’s rough, calloused hand. “You know that I love you a lot right”

“Yes,” Xia Chengzhang nodded, his eyes quickly welling up with tears.

Xia Wan glanced at him sideways, attempting to make him (XC) smile. However, when he tried, his lips moved but no smile appeared. Wy67OA

“Drink some water.” Huo Yu poured two cups of hot water and placed them in front of both of them. He looked at Xia Wan and gave a subtle nod of encouragement.

“Xiao Yu.” Xia Chengzhang slowly raised his head and pointed to the single sofa next to him. “Sit down too.”

Huo Yu nodded and pressed his lips together before he took a seat beside Xia Chengzhnag.

“Xiao Yu told you everything?” Xia Chengzhang asked, his eyes reddened with emotion as he lifted his gaze. The vulnerability in his eyes conveyed the weight of the conversation and the emotional turmoil within him. 4yRjkQ

Xia Wan felt even sadder as he looked into those worn and tired eyes.

Even Xia Chengzhang, who was seriously ill, had never looked like this. If so, it was only once, and that was the night he had to plead with the Xia family for better educational opportunities for the original owner.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

He must have stayed up all night. Xia Wan thought.

Xia Wan softly replied, “Yeah,” and nodded. hiacgD

“I’m sorry,” Xia Chengzhang apologized, lowering his head once again. His demeanor reflected a mixture of remorse and distress.

Since yesterday, it seems like he can’t lift his head in front of anyone.

The uneasiness and guilt in his heart made him feel breathless, especially after witnessing Wen Yunzhi’s pain and misery.

It’s not that he hasn’t thought about Xia Wan’s real parents and finding them, it’s just that he never dared to let himself think about them deeply. 1gkMwT

And every time he saw a family-hunting program, he would quickly turn it off in panic.

All of this is because he selfishly wanted to keep Xia Wan by his side forever. Just as his son only.

He closed his eyes, reliving the memories as he spoke, “Last night, I felt like I was back in the waiting room eighteen years ago, and the scene at that time was still very clear because I had thought about it countless times, just This time when you were thrown to the ground and cried, I chose to hold you in my arms and hand you over when the station staff came to ask…”

After hearing this, Xia Wan squeezed Xia Chengzhang’s hand tightly. f4o96g

Xia Chengzhang’s words trembled with sadness, and he choked up as he continued, “If I had done that, you would have gone back to your real parents and grown up happily. Your parents wouldn’t have been sad for so long. You would be living with respect and honor, the second son of the Xue family everyone looks up to. Not a kid who can be pushed around, not someone without a strong family to support. Not lived as a child who is burdened with a disabled dad, Your life would have been different. Yo.. Your….”He couldn’t finish his words.

“Dad.” Xia Wan’s voice wavered with emotion, a lump formed in his throat. He stood up and called out softly, his heart echoing the heaviness of the moment.

“You should hate me. You shouldn’t call me dad. The Xue family is your family truthfully.” Xia Chengzhang seemed lost in his own thoughts. He whispered, “If I hadn’t been so selfish in the past, I could have given you to them. That would have been better.”

“What about you?” Xia Wan asked softly, “What would you have  done after you handed me over?” JpmDNc

“Me?” Xia Chengzhang was stunned for a moment, then fell silent.

Naturally, he would have ended his life quietly after returning to his hometown, as originally planned.

“Dad, no one can go back to the past, not just you, but me too,” Xia Wan said, his lips pressed together, his wet eyelashes betraying tears. “You can’t go back in time and let me go, and I can’t go back in time and leave you.”

Xia Chengzhang raised his eyes to look at him blankly, not understanding what Xia Wan meant. pcku1P

“I can’t go back to the time when I had no feelings for you,” Xia Wan addressed him, “Dad.”

Xia Chengzhang tightened his jaw, experiencing deep sadness as he struggled with heavy and sorrowful emotions.

Please visit chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

Quietly, Huo Yu passed a bottle of water to Xia Chengzhang. Xia Chengzhang accepted it, but instead of drinking, he simply held the bottle in his hand without taking a sip.

“Dad,” Xia Wan spoke with a trembling voice, his lip bitten in anxiety. “Have you ever considered that if you hadn’t discovered anything unusual at the station, those two people might have sold me, hurt me badly, left me disabled and begging for food, or even worse… I could have lost my life when I was no longer valuable to them.” eDN0Os

Xia Chengzhang’s eyes widened upon hearing this, but he quickly shook his head, reassuringly saying, “That wouldn’t have happened. I would have never let it happen.”

“Dad,” Xia Wan spoke softly, “Maybe fate brought me to the station to save you, and when you had to go back to your hometown, it could have been to save me too.”

He looked at Xia Chengzhang and added, “If you still feel guilty, you can think of your illness as a punishment. You made a mistake, got punished for it, and now it’s all in the past.”

“Can it really be calculated like this?” Xia Chengzhang asked with confusion. Zw7sxa

“Yes,” Xia Wan nodded, grabbing a tissue from the table, and leaned over to wipe Xia Chengzhang’s tears.

Xia Chengzhang’s skin felt rough, and his face had numerous sunspots. Each line on his face tells a story of the pain left by the passing years.

“Dad, I won’t leave you,” Xia Wan promised. After a moment of silence, he gripped the tissue tightly in his hand. “But I also want to recognize my biological parents,” he added.

Xia Chengzhang looked surprised for a moment, then nodded, his eyes still red. “Dad is okay with it.” Nk epQ

He lowered his head, thinking for a while, then said, “If your parents want to hold me accountable, no matter what I’ll take responsibility.”

“They won’t blame you,” Xia Wan reassured, shaking his head with a relieved sigh.

Xia Chengzhang couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t until Xia Wan nodded seriously that tears streamed down his face without any hesitation.

Last night, after ending the phone call with Wen Yunzhi, Xue Chong took over. EvmUrO

Though he remained calmer and more rational than Wen Yunzhi, his voice still fluctuated uncontrollably.

“Ake,” he gently spoke, “Even though everyone in the family wishes to reunite quickly, don’t burden yourself too much. First, focus on handling your adoptive father’s affairs.”

“Thank you, Dad,” Xia Wan expressed his gratitude.

Xue Chong had expected Xia Wan to plead for Xia Chengzhang, but Xia Wan remained silent. zxO6rM

Xue Chong’s emotions were complicated, but his anger toward Xia Chengzhang had somewhat lessened.

After all, Xia Wan had received good teachings from Xia Chengzhang.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

He was a cheerful, optimistic, and motivated child—neither too proud nor too shy. Even if he grew up in the Xue family, he would have received the same qualities.

“Tell him,” Xue Chong said, pausing for a moment before letting out a soft sigh. “The Xue family won’t blame him anymore. We want him to take time to recover peacefully without any worries or guilt.” NA2EBg

“Yeah,” Xia Wan bit his lip. Then he said, “Thank you.”

“Silly boy,” Xue Chong said with a smile, “The Xue family isn’t letting him go easily because we’re soft-hearted or easy to bully, or out of pity. It’s because everyone in the family loves you. That’s what matters most to us.”

Xia Wan bit his lip and said nothing.

“Mom and Dad have found you after a long wait, and we don’t want to see you worrying about anyone or anything anymore, so we let him go,” Xue Chong explained. “Just think of it as having an extra family, but always remember that everyone in this family loves you.” kLNA85

Holding the phone, Xia Wan was quiet for a long time, feeling enveloped in a delicate and warm love.

This feeling was really familiar, just like the love his family gave him when he was younger and didn’t know much about the world.

Xia Chengzhang’s tears flowed heavily, his lips trembling as he remained silent for a long time.

The kindness of the Xue family made him uncomfortable because it highlighted his own selfishness, making it difficult for him to accept. gLrq7S

Xia Wan didn’t say anything else; he just held Xia Chengzhang’s hand tightly, staying with him in silence.

After a while, Xia Chengzhang’s emotions gradually settled. As if recalling something, he quickly shook Xia Wan’s hand.

“Today… go to the Xue family today,” he said, “They must all be eager to see you soon.”

He then turned to Huo Yu, “Xiaoyu, go with him.” zbTGlH

“Yes,” Huo Yu nodded, “I’ll go after you finish breakfast.”

While Aunt Zhang was getting breakfast ready, Huo Yu stood up and went to assist, bringing the tableware and dishes.

“I get it. Xiao Yu stayed over yesterday because he was worried about me,” Xia Chengzhang said, looking at Huo Yu. He turned to Xia Wan, “Don’t worry, Dad won’t do anything silly. Your parents can support you. If they don’t blame me, I’ll make sure to live well for you.”

“Dad loves you too,” Xia Chengzhang reassured with a warm smile. GR9ZwX

Xia Wan nodded vigorously, tears rolling down his cheeks, but a little smile appeared on the corners of his mouth.

Xia Chengzhang’s heart was clearer than anyone else’s, realizing that none of the worries he had existed. Everyone was making compromises because they loved and cared for him, ensuring he didn’t have to navigate difficult situations even for a moment.

After breakfast, Huo Yu accompanied Xia Wan out.

Before going out, Aunt Zhang specially called Xia Wan aside. d0 Tow

“Wanwan,” Aunt Zhang asked earnestly, “did you quarrel with the old man?”

“No.” Xia Wan smiled.

“Something’s not right with him,” Aunt Zhang raised an eyebrow and looked out, then offered advice. “The old man’s not in great health. You’re a sensible and good boy. Don’t let him take tension about anything, okay?”

“Yeah,” Xia Wan nodded, “Please be extra careful today and help me look after my dad.” UR7fiG

“That’s my job, isn’t it?” Aunt Zhang responded. “You take care of yourself, and leave old man to me.”

Xia Wan laughed briefly and couldn’t resist hugging Aunt Zhang before heading out. “Thank you.”

“Ouch, my old bones,” Aunt Zhang chuckled, patting his shoulder. Then she whispered, “Go on, do your work. Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of your dad.”

The weather outside was really nice. The sun was peeking through the clouds, making people’s shadows stretch long on the ground. 9auMTd

Holding Huo Yu’s hand, Xia Wan turned around the corner and suddenly hugged Huo Yu’s waist tightly.

Huo Yu didn’t utter a word; he just held Xia Wan tightly and gently massaged the back of his neck, offering silent comfort.

As they walked toward the Xue family’s house, Xia Wan’s emotions settled, yet a different kind of nervousness took over.

He took a deep breath, pulled out his phone, and started checking messages to shift his attention. pyOkQl

After replying to some work messages, he automatically opened a webpage and began browsing the news.

After Huo Yu returned to the Huo family, discussions about the Huo family on the Internet continued.

Various forums and posts featured numerous narratives about the Huo family’s property disputes, but Huo Yu had never directly responded.

However, today’s script was even more outrageous than those fan-created stories by netizens in the past. 4NcRDv

The poster claims to be an insider of the Huo family’s matter, and the words in the post seem quite credible.

The post mentioned that 20 years ago, Huo Peifeng and Yan Rui passed away in an accident, and Huo Yu, who was only five years old, was taken home by Huo Peixue to raise.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

During that time, Huo Peixue treated Huo Yu as his own son, even more than his biological son, Huo Lin. Whether it was food, clothing, toys, or education, he prioritized Huo Yu.

After Huo Peixue took charge of the Huo family, he dedicated most of his energy to his career, laying the groundwork for Huo Yu to eventually take over the family when he reached adulthood. nKhaBX

The post detailed the prestigious school Huo Yu attended as a child, mentioning that Huo Peixue personally flew abroad to purchase Huo Yu’s favorite things. It highlighted the renowned teachers hired by the Huo family for him. The post also mentioned that in his first year of high school, Huo Yu expressed a sudden desire to study abroad, and the Huo family promptly selected the best art school for him overseas.

The post was detailed and thorough, even covering the limited edition luxury car Huo Yu received from Huo Peixue upon his return to China this spring. According to “informed sources,” the car was supposedly Huo Lin’s favorite.

In addition to listing all the “benefits” the Huo family provided to Huo Yu, the so-called “informed individuals” also naturally criticized Huo Yu.

In the post, Huo Yu was portrayed as an ungrateful person. LajorW

Not only did he supposedly anger his uncle Huo Peixue to the point of a heart attack, but he also heartlessly expelled all of Huo Peixue’s family from the Huo family.

Regarding the Huo family, the post argued that regardless of the circumstances, both Huo Peixue and his son supposedly contributed without any recognition. It questioned why Huo Yu should enjoy the benefits of twenty years of hard work without deserving them.

Not only that, after returning to the Huo family, the post claimed that Huo Yu went to the hospital specifically to visit Mr. Huo Chuan.

According to an insider’s post, Huo Chuan reportedly had a stroke early in life and has been residing in the hospital for recovery. Despite being in good health, the post claimed that after Huo Yu’s recent visit, the old man was on the verge of death, although it didn’t specify what Huo Yu supposedly said to him. 0BVz3D

The most malicious claim was that just two days ago, Huo Yu allegedly issued an ultimatum to the Huo family, demanding they vacate the Huo house.

The poster’s ultimate conclusion was even more noteworthy.

According to him, Huo Yu was not only ungrateful but also bit back at his relatives who had worked hard for him. He even wanted to take possession of the old house where he had lived for twenty years. It could be said that he was greedy and selfish.

Netizens were easily provoked and influenced by this post. Many started to curse Huo Yu online. Since no one knew how big the Huo family’s old house was, its value, how it was acquired, and what it meant to Huo Yu. OBeAbG

No one even considered how many assets and houses Huo Peixue and his family, who had controlled the real estate company for twenty years, owned in addition to the old house.

In their own way of thinking and with some people influencing them, they quickly started a fight without any warning.

Xia Wan scrolled down the screen slowly, his brows knitted together in concern.

“What’s wrong?” Huo Yu noticed the change in his expression. “Are you still worried about Dad?” IA5GQ2

“No,” Xia Wan licked his lips and inquired, “Eldest master, did you really take back the old house from the Huo family?”

“No, not yet. After reclaiming the land, I plan to donate it,” Huo Yu replied in a low voice. He continued, “Don’t pay attention to those messy things on the Internet.”

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

“I’m angry,” Xia Wan expressed, “They don’t know the real story. I can’t understand why they would say such things about you online.”

“Don’t get angry,” Huo Yu said, glancing at his with a reassuring expression. p76x8D

Xia Wan pressed his lips together, “Lately, there hasn’t been much news about your upbringing, but suddenly, someone claiming to know a lot came out and said things about your childhood. It’s tough to argue against. I feel like they’re checking how people react now, and they might say even meaner things about you in the future.”

“You’re really sharp, huh?” Huo Yu couldn’t help but smile, impressed by Xia Wan’s clear analysis.

“I’m serious,” Xia Wan insisted, a hint of anxiety was clear in his voice.

After all, Huo Yu has been abroad for many years, and he might not remember everything about his childhood clearly. Even if he does remember, he might not have had the awareness to leave evidence when he was so young. Could it be that the Huo family knew what they were saying or planning? qvFium

Moreover, this kind of moral attack often doesn’t need much evidence. If you find a good writer and highlight some questionable points, you can attack without much basis.

The more Xia Wan talked, the more convinced he became, and he asked, “Tell me, could this so-called ‘informed person’ be Huo Lin or your uncle?”

Seeing how anxious he was, Huo Yu couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh.

“Still laughing!” Xia Wan couldn’t help but glare at him. x aBcQ

“Don’t worry,” Huo Yu smiled gently, looking directly at Xia Wan. “I really don’t care about what others think. What matters most to me is what we know is true.”

Even when his future was uncertain before, he didn’t care about the outside world’s opinions. Now, in a high position with power, he paid no attention to the Huo family’s desperate struggles.

He doesn’t want to waste even a minute on them.

But since Xia Wan cared about this so much, he should try to put an end to it as soon as possible. 15g8Gd

“I’m not scared,” Xia Wan reached out and gently took Huo Yu’s wrist. “I just don’t want those people to hurt you so unfairly.”

Huo Yu fell silent for a moment, then held Xia Wan’s hand in his palm.

No one could hurt him anymore.

Except for Xia Wan. m18tX4

A subtle smile played on the corners of Huo Yu’s lips, and he couldn’t resist stealing a glance at Xia Wan from the corner of his eye.

Xia Wan’s expression turned serious, his lips pressed together, and a sense of frustration filled his demeanor.

Please visit chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

It was evident that he was deeply affected by the situation and felt a strong desire to address the unjust accusations against Huo Yu.

But he didn’t know that he was so special to him. He didn’t know how adorable he looked in Huo Yu’s eyes and how much it touched him. A6BDaw

  1. Some drama queens bastards asking for good beating >< I don’t know what to think about XCZ… He isn’t a bad person, but he’s selfish coward… Coward who is too afraid to live, so he found his reason aka XW :/ I’m not sure if I could forgive him if it was me

Thank You for the new chapter (♡´౪`♡)

    • we couldn’t blame him coz he’s human… that’s all…

if he was malicious that’s a different story, since he’s not and he’s already paying his sins it’s enough. it’s hard to say that what he did was wrong because both XC and XW save each other, they had found comfort and family towards each other even though it was wrong. And as a negligent mother… WY also suffered from her mistakes. Career is important but your family comes first there should have at least one person to sacrifice and take responsibility of their child… since he is still young that needs attention and love. The aunt who also a bit dumb who lost the child she was caring was also at fault here for taking her eyes off a two year old child. everyone was wrong everyone was actually selfish and greedy not a single character here didn’t express their selfishness and greediness every one was human, they felt happy, guilty, remorse, anger, grief, greed and etc which are all human qualities.

      • I’m sorry but I have to disagree, just because he is not malicious as you say doesn’t mean he has to be forgiven for all of his wrongdoings. The life of the ocXW was terrible and the direct cause of that is XC. At least in the Xue family he would’ve been loved and protected and not had to suffer in the hands of Xia Yang and Co. And like a comment below said the OG personality was awfully introvert and unconfident in himself so the upbringing was definitely not ideal. Also, the comment about the negligent mother really rubbed me the wrong way… how come all the fault is on the mother when she was just working on her career even more so because of what she had to do in order to become as successful as she was…the father could paid more attention to their children instead of her, in a family there are two parents not just a mother.
  2. They are completely in love…dear author, please, please, don’t ruin their first time with some cliche trope and using words like “bullying” when it comes to their intimacy! They deserve so much better. Also, I have a feeling that the Xue family will stay on Wan Wan’s side, which, of course, includes protecting his beloved hubby.

  3. I’m open minded like XW. If we keep thinking of “what if what if”, it’s not like we would ever know the real answer.

People easily assume if XW never taken by his Adoptive Father, he could be very happy in his biological family, but in the Novel world, if we can use the “What If”, he could also gone through another worst situation and be the labeled as CF Villain also and may get worst end…

Or if Adopted Father even on worst depression and actually watch XW get taken, like XW mentioned, he could even get through much worst…

And if we talk in Spiritual/Religion View… Maybe it’s a God way to both Save and Punish the Adopted Father. Save him from death but punish him with Years of Guilt. Also maybe it can be Xue’s family karma/short punishment from whatever reason, so God chose to make them losing their Son temporarily. ┐( ˘_˘)┌

And in happiest WHAT IF, the author could maybe write AU in the extras about XW still happily in Xue family but still meet his Adopted Father who still alive but maybe in deep depression, and end up saving him with words or something.

All the What ifs… End up makes me rambling.

But to the main point, this plot is much more a big relief rather than adopted Father have Hidden Ulterior motives. It shows Flawed Human who are in Deep Depression probably near Suicidal but chose to keep living because the action he chose to take. And no physical nor verbal/mental cruelty happen to the person (XW) who he had hold tight as anchor.

Anyway THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HARDWORKS IN TRANSLATING THIS NOVEL TO THIS FAR ALREADY!!!

  4. Another rant ahead I’m sorry, but the “XW received good teachings from XCZ” is just plain wrong LMAO. The OG XW was a timid pushover with no self esteem. What good teachings did he impart? Let yourself be a doormat to my relatives because they’re funding my hospital bills? I can’t even enjoy the sweetness because I’m just too irritated with XCZ. ANYWAYS it’ll definitely be better for Wanwan, I’ll just skip the kidnapper father parts ig

Also translator thanks for the superb translation WKDJKSK im usually a lurker here but this white lotus father hits my every button

  5. Tangina!

Sorry, i used my own language. It’s easier to express my feelings using it haha.

  6. I feel sad when OG MC father mentioned that XW is cheerful and stuff. If only he knew that it’s not OG XW, his truly son…

I tried to reason with XCZ action that at that time he didn’t know it would be The Xue Family. For all he knew it could be worse.

However, that sentence from OG father brought me back because at the end, it was because the selfishness of XCZ that OGMC is being used. That OG MC was no longer there…

It’s just sad but alas… sighs
