The character 崑 (Kun) was the old Chinese name for the Kunlun Mountains. From it developed, the Chinese idiom “a jade from Kunlun Mountains”, meaning any “outstanding figure”.
I think it comes from this poem by Li He:
李凭箜篌引 Song of Li Ping’s Twenty-three Strings Link with a translation
The full line is 昆山玉碎凤凰叫 where the “a piece of jade from the Kunlun Mountains” describes a clear and melodious sound and the “Fenghuang call” describes a gentle sound. At least according to the interpretation found in this page.
So this is MTL expressing his voice kink in the most poetic way possible.

雪雕(xuě diāo) Apparently means snow sculpture, but the characters by themselves mean snow and bird of prey. Different dictionaries give also translate 雕 as eagle or vulture.
