  1. Might explain why Qian Li wasn’t feeling the withdrawal actually. Humph this chapter hurts. I like Zhou Xiting a lot. Like. A lot lot.

    • I also like her a lot. 😭 Qian Li— ah, hopefully as a parting gift Uto cleared out his physical dependence, but his instincts are still there…

  2. having a hard time understanding what happened with the boat, was it always the raft? did it somehow change when they left the mist? so was the one that picked them up from uto an illusion??

    • I can’t completely clarify without spoiling something, but in vague terms:

Within a certain area (Uto + some distance) things are a certain way. For reasons. Past that point, reality is left to take over and make sense of the senseless things that might appear at the border. In this case, if there’s no island, then the only way for them to survive at sea…Must be because actually, they just sunk! And they’re in the liferaft that came with the yacht! So reality twists itself up to make that the truth, because no other explanation can exist without endangering it. (After all, Shan Haoyu remembers that grocery boat as ‘always’ making their deliveries. But how could the old man and the teen son never grow up? If it was a real boat, surely by now the son’s son would be the one captaining it. And monthly grocery runs to a school full of boys and the small community around it are one thing, but with the price of diesel, who would still make that trip for just a handful of people? Even if a boat really was making deliveries, would they keep doing so as the recipients stayed frozen, never aging by even an iota, but frequently having other people show up in need of rescue? Any island like that would definitely become taboo).

  3. I’m slightly confused about Xiting’s and Bai’s sudden panic attacks.

I understand that in such a situation the reality of the events can suddenly fall on you and shock you to a degree.

However Xuwei had made it abundantly clear that he wasn’t going back and it appears that they did not forget the time passed on the island.

So did they just think of all of it as a dream ? Did they expect the Island to let all of them go including Xiwei ? Did brain.exe just stop functioning for a minute ?

That aside, Baby-Tian is still an absolute sweetheart and this story is still fan-fucking-tastic, probably in my top 5 actually. Thank you for all the work and may you write a 100 chapters more

    • Haha, no worries! This is a jumbled chapter for sure.

For them, you can take it as…They were okay (reluctant, but okay) with Zhou Xiwei staying behind for an island romance. They were not at all okay with (weren’t even considering the idea) that Zhou Xiwei would be staying behind in some place that is inherently beyond their understanding.

I think that there’s that moment of panic where they’re just having so many things thrown at them at once–

Is the island really a hallucination? If it’s a hallucination, are they imagining him okay because they can’t deal with him drowning? (Remember, Zhou Xiting nearly drowned him accidentally at the very start, before Song Bai saved them. So what if he didn’t save them…? What if she really, with her own hands…?)

Then, there’s the letter. And that’s infinitely better, because it means he didn’t drown. He had time to write it. But he wrote it from an island that they can’t even get back to.

An island that seems to have blinked out of existence and taken their little brother with it. And if the island is gone, how will they visit him? How will they know that he’s okay? They can interfere and throw money around if some island dude betrays their little brother, but what can they do against a (whatever this person who lives on a vanishing island is)?

For people that are used to always being able to take care of him, suddenly having their plans thrown into such disarray is a huge shock. Nevermind the fact that unlike the yacht crew, neither one of them picked up on anything weird with the island.

So they’ve gone from 0-60 in the span of a few minutes. One minute they’re sighing at him growing up and planning how to get his island connected, the next, they’re dealing with a complete paradigm shift. The rules that they’ve always played by (and won through) no longer seem to apply, and tied up in that is their most important person.

…Ding Dongqi is going to be forced to answer a lot of questions.

      • Thank you it’s much clearer to me now.

I had actually forgotten that none of them were aware of the Island’s peculiarities. Now it’s obvious that they would react that way.

It’s actually impressive how everything makes sense in your story, how well thought it is and how real it feels. Very remarkable. Thank you for writing something so good.

  4. I had to leave for a week and I come back to a bunch of new chapters! Thanks for the updates! Still a cliffhanger though!

  5. I laughed so hard at Ding Dongqi pretending to be dead to avoid Zhou Xiting’s questions 😂.

I think Zhou Xiwei will actually thrive in a tight unit with a younger brother and father figure, where he can let his guard down. I hope Mother doesn’t ruin it for everyone.
