Viramalla was still feeling a little dizzy from the lack of rest when he had woken up. It seemed that the seasickness had more of an impact than he’d thought. Still feeling the headache from the other night resurface, he went to wash up. The cold water dispelled all the drowsiness. He went to attend his morning training feeling a bit better than yesterday. Just when he was reaching his limit, Langa came to inform him of their guests. He had Langa call his second brother over before going to his room to change out of his training robes.

When he had first thought about the guests, he thought they were here to check on them. But as he saw Yue Jun all of his suspicions dissipated. When he introduced himself as the general, his overbearing aura coupled with his imposing imperial aura told Viramalla a different story. He couldn’t help but feel amused by his efforts to keep his identity a secret but then again, it wasn’t that hard to figure out that this ‘General Yue’ was a fraud. When he saw General Yue – at least the ‘General Yue’ persona he was trying to portray to him – Viramalla knew that he thought he had not figured out anything yet. Viramalla felt it was for the better because even if he knew that he had figured out that he was the prince, Viramalla had no intention of admitting anything.

At the very least, his stay would not be painful or monotonous anymore.

“Langa, please take General Yue to the waiting room for a while.” Langa nodded and stepped in front of Sui Junhui.

“General Yue pardon us. The prince still has not completed his morning training. If I may, shall I take you to the waiting room and have the prince join you later?” Langa said politely.

“If Your Highness does not mind, can we stay here and watch your training? I’m a little curious about Your Highness’s fighting style. Could Your Highness please grant me the honour of learning from one’s self?” Sui Junhui asked with a sincere expression. He would never admit that the reason he wanted to stay was that he could not bear to part with the Pallavan prince.

Langa turned to Viramalla, awaiting his orders. Viramalla, nodding, gestured to a small pavilion beside a lake. After receiving orders, Langa then escorted the three to sit near the lakeside beside the pavilion. From the pavilion, it was easy to get a better view of the training ground. Embedded in sandalwood, it looked very elegant. The sandalwood fragrance gave people peace of mind. The pavilion was equipped with a rosewood table in the middle with chairs lined with cushions by the side. There was also a heat stove blazing to keep them warm. Langa stepped forward and poured them a cup of hot tea and served a few snacks before going back to the prince.

The prince swung his sword with great force, never giving his opponents an opening to attack. He seemed to be predicting his opponent’s moves easily as he rained attacks on them one after another. Just as he was tackling two of them, a third person came from the side and attacked. It was at that moment, the prince swung his sword and pinned the two attackers down, raising his sword yet again to block the third person’s strike.

Although the prince had quick reflexes, he was still a tad too slow as the sword made its way to his torso. It left a wound beneath his chest which could neither be considered a major nor a minor injury. Blood gushed from the wound making Sui Junhui wrinkle his brows. Just as he was about to say something, Chu Qin stopped him and gestured towards Langa and others who were still standing nonchalantly on the side, watching the match as if nothing had happened.

Then they saw the Pallavan prince carrying on as if nothing happened. His face, not showing any signs of pain as he continued to attack the others with the same fierce strength. Nobody would think he was wounded if not for the blood that stained his upper clothing. After exchanging a couple more blows, the prince finally defeated everyone.

Viramalla then went to his bedroom. Langa came inside with a basin of hot water and a dry cloth. He helped the prince remove his upper clothing then proceeded to clean his wound, carefully applying some herbs and bandages on it. He exited the room after telling the prince to keep the wound out of water. Jlyj5R

Viramalla went to take a hot bath that Langa had someone prepare before he came in. He carefully avoided the wound and had a warm bath. He then changed into a silk robe and proceeded to the waiting room where Sui Junhui was waiting for him after the training.

Viramalla went inside and greeted him. “Does General Yue mind accompanying me to breakfast?”

“Of course not! It would be my pleasure.” Sui Junhui eagerly nodded. He was in a hurry to come to the Chrysanthemum courtyard in the morning so he had eaten very little for breakfast. When Viramalla mentioned breakfast, he noticed that he was still feeling a little hungry.

Soon, Langa came in with a tray of steaming hot food. He placed the tray down on the table and started to serve them. “Does General Yue mind having Tamil food? If you are not comfortable with the taste I can have the chefs prepare Chinese foods quickly. It will not take too long.” Langa said worriedly. MLxNbq

Sui Junhui stared at the food in front of him and then at Viramalla. “Thank you for the consideration but I would like to give this food a try. I have never eaten Tamil food before.” Sui Junhui replied sincerely. Viramalla nodded to Langa to proceed.

Viramalla then carefully introduced each of the dishes to Sui Junhui. Viramalla introduced a variety of food to Sui Junhui who kept nodding in acknowledgment and seriousness as if Viramlla wasn’t talking about food but country affairs. Viramalla was a little amused by this.

Their breakfast contained adhirasam, kambu dosai, ragi paniyaram, akkara adisil and kambu koozh. They were not provided with chopsticks. Sui Junhui looked at Viramalla questioningly. Langa brought hot water in two bowls and crushed the lemon which was placed beside it into the two bowls and placed it in front of Viramlla and Sui Junhui. Sui Junhui looked curiously at Viramalla, unsure of how to proceed. He then saw Viramalla put his hands into the bowl and wash his hands meticulously. Then he dried his hand with a cloth placed on the side. Sui Junhui followed his lead and did the same. Then Viramalla proceeded to eat with his now clean hands. Sui Junhui saw how he ate every dish and followed along.

Although he was a little clumsy at first, he soon learned it. He tried each dish curiously, finding out that each one of them tasted exquisite. The taste was quite different from Chinese food but not in a bad way. Surprisingly, he didn’t even feel uncomfortable eating with his hands. The taste of the food made him feel as if he had been struck by a bolt of lighting. Sui Junhui quickly finished his breakfast with relish. After their meal, both of them washed their hands and proceeded out of the waiting room. EHrnKX
