Sui Junhui was, as per usual, sparring with his two personal guards who were also doubled as his attendants, Chu Qin and Chu Yu. Sui Junhui was battling against them both at the same time. He rapidly blocked each of their attacks with his sword and pinned them to the ground. He then rained blows on each of them without giving them time to collect themselves. The match finally ended when both of their swords were sent flying by Sui Junhui’s.
“You both lack luster! The prince could easily predict all of your moves. Why don’t both of you use that brain of yours to think of some new moves? If you two don’t start using your brains soon, one day it’ll just rot away” Chu Min, who was watching the match from the side, commented on both Chu Qin and Chu Yu.
After hearing him insult them, Chu Qin snapped, “If you’re such a genius, how is it that you’ve never won against the prince?”
“That’s because the prince always defeats me.” Chu Min replied matter-of-factly.
Chu Qin was speechless. That idiot dared to comment on their brains when his brain was already damaged beyond repair.
Chu Yu argued, “Whatever moves we use, the prince can easily interpret them. He is talented at fighting. The only difference between the three of us is how long we can hold out.”
Chu Qin, adding on, “Not only does the prince train harder than us, but he’s also very talented in controlling his internal energy.”
“Alright you three, stop fawning over me.”
“But Your Highness, what we said was true ba!”
Sui Junhui didn’t reply as he turned to get a dry cloth from the nearby servant. He dipped the cloth into the basin of water, squeezed it, then proceeded to wipe himself clean. As he was wiping his body off, you could see his perfectly sculpted muscles as well as his hard, defined abs; his mermaid lines extending all the way down beneath his clothing. His skin was beautiful, silky and honey-colored; his green eyes were dark, set deep above the high planes of his cheekbones. His face was absurdly handsome with sharp phoenix eyes laced with a hint of laziness and thin, red lips.
“Your Highness, according to our people, the Pallavas are set to arrive today.” Chu Yu informed.

“They will show themselves during the morning court eventually. Why bother with the trouble?” Sui Junhui was confused.
“But Your Highness, we don’t have any important work right now and, to be honest, I’m really curious about that Pallavan prince who is rumored to be beautiful. I really want to go see him.”Chu Qin persisted.
“If you want to go see him, then go. Why are you calling me?” Sui Junhui asked.
Chu Qin’s mind went blank for a second and he couldn’t come up with anything. He hinted with his eyes for Chu Yu to help.
“It’s nothing, Your Highness. Chu Qin said that the Pallavan crown prince should be beautiful. But Chu Min disagreed and said that he would just be a dark, brawny person. So they have made a bet.” Chu Yu lied through his teeth.
“Ah… When did I make that bet?” Chu Min was late to catch the hints thrown at him. Chu Qin then quickly came forward and sighed dramatically, “Look, Your Highness. We made the bet in front of Chu Yu, but this idiot is already trying to go back on his word. So I asked Your Highness to come with us to judge the prince’s appearance fairly.”
“But I-” Chu Min broke off in the middle of his sentence because of Chu Yu’s glare. He didn’t understand what they were playing at. Then, all of a sudden, he felt enlightened.
“Ah…Yes, Your Highness. You should come and fairly judge that Prince or else this blind man over here will say that the prince is beautiful even if he was disfigured.”
“Please come with us, Your Highness. We haven’t visited the morning market in a long while too.”Chu Yu persuaded.
Sui Junhui also felt that it had been too long since he went out and so he agreed to their request.
When they arrived at the shore there was already a curious crowd awaiting the newcomers. Sui Junhui and his attendants mixed in with the crowd. The moment Sui Junhui’s gaze finally fell upon Viramalla, he couldn’t help but fall into a daze.
His eyes. There’s something enchanting about his eyes. Those protruding hazel brown eyes that seemed so familiar to him.
Sui Junhui felt as if he knew this person but at the same time, he didn’t.
When he came back to the palace, he didn’t know what had come over him. He started digging through his clothes meticulously. He wanted to see that Viramalla once again but before he could set off, Chu Qin poured cold water on him by saying he couldn’t go because the Pallavas had just arrived. They required some time to rest and adjust to the new place. He went to his bed feeling dejected.
Chu Min whispered to Chu Yu, “Do you think His Highness has figured it out by now?”
“No, if His Highness did, he wouldn’t be in bed right now.” Chu Yu replied.
“Oh…” Chu Min sighed regretfully.
The next day, early in the morning Sui Junhui called their general to his palace.
“Yi Qian pays respect to Your Highness.” The general kneeled.
“Rise. I have called you here to ask a favor of you.” Sui Junhui replied, puzzling Yi Qian.
“Favor? Your Highness, please just give this servant the order.”
“When you visit the Pallavan crown prince, I’ll come with you. But you can not disclose my identity to him. You will just introduce me as another general. Understand?” Sui Junhui asked calmly.
Yi Qian was bewildered but he knew better than to ask. Who knows what the royal family thought about? He would just do as he was told to.
When Yi Qian left, Chu Min asked, “Your Highness, why are you lying to the Pallavan prince?”
Sui Junhui replied, “I can’t help but feel he is familiar. I want to get to know him. But the problem is, my identity as a prince may cause some unnecessary issues to arise.”
Chu Min didn’t say anything but just shared a deep look with Chu Yu.
When Sui Junhui arrived at Chrysanthemum courtyard with the general, Viramalla ‘s personal attendant Langa received them. Langa took them to the waiting room. He poured both of them hot tea and served a few snacks.
“The Prince is still attending his morning training. He will arrive in a while. Forgive our impoliteness.” Langa said respectfully.
Yi Qian quickly replied, “Don’t worry too much. Please tell him to take his time.”
Langa quietly bowed and retreated.
Langa then conveyed their presence to Viramalla. Viramalla quickly changed out of his training robes. “Langa, quickly call Simha over here”.
Since his brother was sent to gain experience, Viramalla wanted him over as well. Viramalla waited for a few minutes before Simha walked in.
They both went to the waiting room together.
When Yi Qian saw both the princes, he quickly stepped forward and greeted them.
“Yi Qian greets the crown prince and the second prince.”
“Yue Jun greets the crown prince and the second prince.”
Viramalla politely nodded to them and gestured for them to sit. Simha and Viramalla sat across Yi Qian and Sui Junhui at the rosewood table. Langa stepped forward and took both the general’s teacups and filled them once again. He then quietly poured tea for both Viramalla and Simha and replaced their cold snacks with steaming hot ones.
