Min walked in the house’s door, her toes screaming at her for picking these shoes to work in eight hours at the customer care desk she worked at. Immediately upon opening the door, she was greeted by the house smelling like fire and like something horrible had occurred, maybe death.
‘Most likely death.’ she thought.
Min kicked off the shoes with a vengeance before stepping through the door and bowing to the picture on the mantle near the door, her hands were too full to touch it like she normally did. The heavy groceries, making walking forward the scant distance still as cumbersome as a battlefield miles long. Her aching arms reminded her she was still just as weak as before all of this.
“Why does it smell like I was cooking?” Min asked, knowing full well Heart was home.
She looked at the small couch and the suit hanging up beside it and shook her head. The first time she had seen the suits hanging there it had shocked her, and ordered Heart to take them back, buying her designer suits for her job at the airport was too much they just didn’t have the money. She shook her head. She still couldn’t believe those were Heart’s new outfit. She had so many questions to ask, but most, if not all of them had to do with Heart’s sudden infatuation like a first girl crush when you were young, an almost innocent like obsession with this guy Saint.
Min put down the stuff on the counter and then walked over and peeked into Heart’s room.
Heart was cuddled in a ball in his bed with Num beside him purring and looking protective. His legs were wrapped around his new stuffed animal he had brought back from his work trip, and one naked leg was poking out of the blankets.
Heart had been especially moody since getting back and she wanted to ask. But also knew Heart wouldn’t say anything not to her, anyway. He was so sweet he would never burden her with his worries, because he was too busy trying to take care of her like she was his baby sister or something.
“Are you awake?” Min called out from the doorway, he didn’t answer her question. Min shook her head, her shoulder length fluffy black hair shook with the motion.
Seeing Heart still curled up in his bed facing the wall away from her, Min poked him with her toes and patiently repeated the question again.
“Are you awake?”
“Noooo.” He groaned, pouting.
“Okay, well, as long as you are not awake…”
“And you didn’t try to steal my job and burn down our apartment while I was off getting food come and help me put the groceries away.”
“I can’t…” he stated turning over and giving her a look, his head just barely peeking out from under the covers. His chin resting on the panda’s head.

She scoffed at him, but stood back up and walked out of the room.

She smiled, good they would be here soon.
Min poked her head back around the corner.
Heart stirred a little and Num shook out her long fur in anger and then stepped off his arm, gave him a very cat-like glare and walked out the open window to sleep on the balcony in the growing dark and cool air.
Heart sighed and pulled himself up until he was seated albeit rather reluctantly and cuddling his bolster he had respectively named Demon Lord Min watched him out of the corner of her eye, but then began to put the stuff for dinner away in the fridge.
Heart continued to watch her unpack and sighed again looking a little lost.
Min threw that look his way again, but, he just made a sour face and punched at the blushing cheeks on Demon Lord.
She rolled her eyes. “Seriously, what is with you lately? You are acting even more sporadic than you usually do.”
“If you don’t talk I am going to throw one of those expensive suits in the dryer to shrink it.”
Heart yelped. “No!, God, please, no anything but that.”
“Ugghh, I dunno, I swear ever since running into that drunk I am cursed!” He exclaimed, then fell backward and started fighting with his bolster.
Min rolled her eyes.
“I am going to bed. Don’t wake me, not even if the Demon Lord, himself comes.” He thought for a second.
“Actually wake me, wake me fast if that happens.”
Min stared at him confused, ‘Demon Lord?’
‘What was up with him lately? For the first time in their lives, they paid rent on time, the food was better than the worst they had eaten before. He was happy at his school, her work was going well. He got a job. And yet he acted as if he had lost his marbles.’
It was literally driving her insane.
She sighed. ‘As long as he is acting like this I can’t really tell him about anything.’
She looked down at the ring on her finger. Slipped it off-putting it back in the little black box in her purse and continued putting away the groceries alone.
‘Maybe some other day when he has less on his mind.’
Min reached into the grocery bag and pulled out the pregnancy test looking at it apprehensively. Things have been changing lately. Very quickly.
It was hard, but something inside her told her not to worry that all the changes were good.
The doorbell rang and Min chucked the pregnancy kit behind and to the very back of the sink, before shuffling over to the door and opening it up.
She stared at Tee and smiled.
“He is in there.” She shook her head. One walked in behind Tee and raised an eyebrow.
“Okay, you crazy, get out of there, or I am going to sit on you.” One said then clambered into the bed and threw himself on top of Heart.
Heart yelled loudly.
“Ah! One, get off of me. You are heavy!”
“I am not, I have been dieting, besides I am the shortest out of everyone I know.” One said sourly.
“Do you know how much muscle you have? You are a dance machine, all you are is muscle. You might be small but you are not squishy.” Heart snapped.
Heart threw the covers off and One smiled triumphantly.
Tee looked over at Min and smiled before wrapping his arm around her and kissing her forehead gently.
Nice peaked around the corner and looked at One.
“Can you keep your hands off my man? I may just end up jealous.”
One grinned like a happy cat.
“I wasn’t talking about you, I meant to keep your hands off my Heart. I haven’t felt his abs today.” Nice commented climbing into the bed, causing the ruckus inside the room to grow even louder.
“Oi,” One scoffed, and smacked Nice in the back of the head pouting.
Nice pulled Heart into a cuddle and pinched his cheek. The two of them slipping around the silky covers, grumbling and talking over the other.
“How have they been together six years already?” Tee said, softly.
“I was just wondering the same thing.” Min commented.
“Oi, I heard that. Take that back!” Nice said, holding up a fist like he was going to beat them.
One tried to stand up and his foot caught on the new lump under Heart’s blankets.
“What’s this?” One asked, uncovering the bear. He held it up, raised an eyebrow, his inquiry.
