I hope he never forgives his parents (I know he will in this novel, because it’s Chinese). I will never tolerate abusive parents no matter if it is in novel or in the reality. It’s one of the biggest absurd I’ve seen to not see your beloved for years. I would go visit from time to time and communicate by telephone. It’s sweet but also complete nonsense of angst.
