The Black Saint is My StalkerCh154 - Where he believes

Edited by dreamandwonder

Blinding wrath was all-consuming. Han Li’s humanity had long since fled. pyvrFK

His rage propelled him forward, fueling the violence in his blood. He cared not for the spark of familiarity when he saw the dark-skinned hunter. Had no sympathy for the vampire that cared so dutifully for the child in his arms.

No, Han Li only knew his mission. He only knew violence, and the wrath fueled by all the vengeful hearts he had consumed.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

More. Not enough. The red wrath in his mind urged him.

When he saw his prey flee from the window, Han Li was without reconciliation. But once again, his chase was hindered by those terrible buzzing wasps and their annoying barriers. Han Li tore through them as though they were nothing more than cheap glass. He focused his rage on the dark-skinned hunter. fx5c7y

(He knew this man.)

(Simone’s uncle, was he not?)

(Han Li did not care.)

A grappling hook circled around a crumpled pillar. Han Li had no qualms severing the rope, eager to see the man fall to his death.

amHRUl

This did not happen. The man landed safely in the vampire’s arm. How annoying…!

Han Li expected another bout of rage—

But it didn’t come. Instead, a strange weight was lifted from his shoulder. Han Li reeled and took a step back as warmth filled his belly, providing him with power that he hadn’t had access to prior.

Oh. It seemed that the contract had been fulfilled. Han Li paused, dazed for a moment while he watched the trio escape from the facility. He felt no urge to follow them, no rage directed towards them. It seemed that Magnolia only wished for the child to escape, it made no difference if Han Li himself was the vehicle to that escape. How curious!

He reached up and touched his own chest, feeling for the churning of miasma in his veins, for the unadulterated wrath that accumulated from devoured souls. Thinking back, he went on a bit of an eating binge, didn’t he? Han Li licked his lips, tasting the remnants of blood and anguish.

He turned away from the window with no interest in whimsical beings who could not commit to violence and vengeance. No, Han Li had something else he wished fulfilled. Something bigger, better, something that would leave his belly full and his wrath quelled. He smiled, and it was a twisted expression, eyes eerily calm.

He couldn’t help but wonder, where was that little female scientist?

Where was the being that pulled the strings? He wanted to devour them. Devour them to sate the boiling wrath in his heart.

And thus, Han Li walked, deeper into the facility rather than away. And in his wake, he left clouds of miasma so thick that the air turned dusty with wisps of black. mULeTO

Outside of the facility was fresh and welcoming. Sunlight defused by clouds was still harmful to a vampire’s complexion but Iszak did not mind. He would much rather suffer a little sunburn than have to deal with the suffocating meld of miasma, wards, and other magical debris he had no mind to decipher.

Out on the expansive lawn of the DASR research facility, there were still embers of battle to mind; escaped beings wreaked havoc and those suit-wearing guards struggled to contain them.

Of course, this was all very inconsequential to one particular noble blood. In fact, Iszak only wished to stretch his arms and lie down on the grass to finally get some peace of mind. X7RYAH

The hunter that ran by his side, however, did not have such a lackadaisical expression. The hunter’s expression was dark, haunted, and Iszak was no stranger to what trauma looked like. There were no words exchanged between them as they made their escape; one made rather easily with Iszak’s third eye. The layers of wards that had once kept that edifice secure were now in tattered bits. With the power of Iszak’s third eye, he could discern where the breaking points of these wards lay, and they managed their escape without arousing much attention.

Any fool that dared to approach and hinder their advance was met with arrows of blood and angry mechanical wasps.

Luca clung to his foster father’s clothes. Despite all the ensuing chaos, the child was appeased by Jayden’s familiar smell.

There was conveniently a large hole smashed into the wall, marking a point for their escape. Whatever battle that had happened to create such wreckage had long been quelled; bodies littered upon the ground. 0NKuQ5

But just before the trio could taste freedom, the hunter suddenly halted.

“…?” Iszak stopped as well, gazing over his shoulder with a raised brow. They were just at the threshold of escape. One more step and they would be outside of the facility’s walls.

“Noble blood,” the hunter said. Though his voice was calm, there was a distant eeriness to it. Something in the man’s heart was haunting him, like a vengeful ghost that could not be exorcised. “What’s your name?”

“…Oh? You ask for my name when I know not of yours?” 3NJySk

“Jayden Jones,” the man replied bluntly.

Iszak smiled wryly. He had a feeling this man was not in the soundest of states, he could practically smell the fire in his blood. “I am Iszak Bathory—“

“Of the Meglatos Clan.”

“The one and only.” Iszak couldn’t help himself and winked. But his charm didn’t seem to have any effect on the man, who was much too focused on whatever hauntings that lingered in his mind. utXCki

“Take the child, please,” Jayden said hastily, not even giving Iszak a chance to react before handing Luca over. “Take him to safety for me.”

“…Jay?” the child hiccuped, lips jutting cutely and eyes wide with tears. He still clung onto Iszak when handed over.

“Oh? And what of you?” Iszak asked. But he had a feeling he already knew where this was going.

With those dark, haunted eyes, Jayden glanced back at the facility. There was a trail of smoke rising from the building. “I got unfinished business,” was all that he offered as an explanation. 8qx9ud

Iszak narrowed his eyes, but the smile on his lips was still easy. With a light chuckle, he pointed out, “You’ll die you know?”

Small hands tightened around his shirt. The child retorted, “No! Jay won’t die. Jay can’t die, he’s a superhero.”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

“…” Awkwardly, the hunter tried to smile, reaching out to pat the child on the head. “Be good, ‘kay kiddo?”

“I’m always good,” the child pouted. yFcBl6

Jayden chuckled. “No running out when no one’s looking after you, got it?”

“I won’t do it ever again, promise!”

Jayden smiled, but only backed away in the end. “I’ll be counting on you, noble blood.”

“Where are you going, Jay?” the kid asked, but this time he received no reply. Ku6S9Y

Iszak laughed. He thought this man foolish. Escape was imminent for them, so why return into the fray? To chase after the dead? One measly little human hunter wasn’t going to stand a chance against a demon prince. But he also supposed that it was none of his business. “Well, I hope you find what you seek.”

And just like that, the man merely nodded. Without any more words of farewell, he turned heel and left, back into the hellhole they had just escaped.

“Where’s Jay going?” the child asked again, this time to Iszak.

“Hmm, to where he believes he will find peace,” Iszak answered cryptically. He had already put Jayden Jones to the back of his mind, believing that he would never again see the man alive. DIQcbW

Just as he stepped outside of the premise, Iszak was bombarded with a powerful, familiar scent. He instantly perked up, eyes going wide.

“…Franz? That idiot!” Iszak instantly veered around, his vampiric heart throbbed, not knowing if he should be enraged or pleased. Franz was near…did that silly servant of him follow his trail all the way here? Ahh, Iszak worried despite himself. Feeling newfound joy and elation. Iszak followed the scent trail and to his dismay and utter joy, Franz was indeed right here in Ironworks!

The corrupted blood was looking a little worse for wear, a bit beaten and a suit jacket carelessly thrown over his head.

“Ah, my sweet child! To think you’d come all this way for your master—!” xQulwR

Franz von Hatzfeld was approaching in a ragtag group of three, ambling forward in the middle of a silent, decrepit road. They all stopped, looking up to see one very pale, bloodied vampire, holding an equally pale werewolf child. They seemed to glow beneath the cloudy sky, like a mirage that might dissipate at a moment’s notice.

Franz stopped in his tracks, completely frozen, for he feared that he was so far gone that he was starting to hallucinate. Iszak’s bright smile, his crested eyes and cheerful demeanor— and to think that his imagination was so damned vivid and honest that there was even a child in his master’s arms.

Such a thing couldn’t possible—

It was Graham’s voice that snapped Franz out of his reverie. “Are you not going to go to him?” gtqxwd

“…?” Franz blinked, first at the Saint of Eternity, who stared at him impassively, and then back at the end of the road, where his master still stood, waving with even more vigor than before.

What…? Was it real then?

Franz didn’t move an inch. Instead, he stood there and cried, fat tears tumbling out of his eyes.

  1. Hahahahah I wonder how torn up Han Li is going to be once he regains himself. Oooohh, I’m so looking forward to his reunion with Graham. It’s going to be wonderful.

  2. Oh Han Li, Han Li. Now at least your impressive murder&destruction spree is targeted. But I bet little Emilia is long gone because that’s what cowards do. But hey, you can destroy this evil establishment, and give Graham a chance to find you.

I don’t know about happy but emotional for sure. Franz and Iszak are together again.

Jayden don’t be stupid, you have a kid to raise.

    Thank you for the chapter!!!

Next, reunion for Han Li and Graham but I have a feeling they won’t be shedding tears of happiness.

Sooo Han Li can still think… In a way ? Think as in “now I’m going to focus my killing spree on just one person”

Can demon have stomach ache from eating to much ? Do they have demon meds ? 😂

    • Yayayay that’s at least 2 characters to be happy for!!

LOLLL!! Demon meds U w U they should develop some. Maybe if they weren’t eating so much trash foot they wouldn’t be so angry and violent

  5. Franz believing he’s hallucinating Iszak is too cute! Get your hugs in quick before the next big fight.

Han Li wrath taken down a step with fulfilled contract Is good but is it really enough. Hopefully Han Li remembers Graham and wants to be a Couple vs. remembering Graham dumped his ass and wanting to slap him down.

All the action is so good. Thank you, Val for another chapter with sidekicks alive.
