Inside a traditional Japanese home, men and women sat on the ground on their knees. There were other men standing behind them, dressed in black suits with sunglasses on. They were the bodyguards of each respective person in that room.
At the very attention of the room was a man in his early sixties. He was dressed in traditional clothing, or widely known as a Yukata. His hair was black with pieces of white and gray mixed in. There were two bodyguards on each of his side. His face held two scars on it, long gashes running across his face from left to right. He had a stern face on, his legs crossed as he put his hands onto the table in front of him.
His name was Tendou Naoki, the previous leader of the Tendou Household, the man who founded the Tendou Yakuza gang and created a legacy for himself.
There were four men in the room, with two women along. Tendou Eiichi was the current head of the household, Tendou Yagami’s father. Next to him was Shiru Sakura, his current wife and Tendou Yagami’s step-mother. Behind them sat Otashi Hideo, Tendou Yagami’s step-brother.
There was another woman with glaring eyes, hair elegantly tied up with a hairpin. She had a mole by the side of her mouth. Her name was Tendou Yui, Tendou Yagami’s aunt and Tendou Eiichi’s sister-in-law. She was not yet married, and was only in her late twenties.
There were two other men in the room, both of these men had no relation with the Tendou Family, but were close companions of Tendou Naoki.
There was a silence in the room as Tendou Naoki took a glance towards Shiru Sakura and Otashi Hideo before looking at Tendou Eiichi with raised brows. There was a cup of piping tea on the table in front of him and he lifted it up as he took a sip from it. There was a thick tension in the room as everyone kept silent.
Then, the doors opened up. Tendou Yagami and Tendou Akiyama appeared first with Ito Reo and Narisa Zeno following after. Upon seeing Tendou Naoki, Tendou Yagami and Tendou Akiyama bowed, their backs bending forward as they said, “Greetings, Grandfather.”
Tendou Naoki nodded, a sign for them to take a seat.
On Narisa Zeno’s side, he couldn’t help but be surprised when he saw two familiar faces. “Father? Uncle?”
Seated next to Tendou Naoki was Narisa Daichii, Narisa Zeno’s father and Narisa Fuchikawa, his uncle.
Narisa Daichii was a man with a bigger build and there was a very evident coldness from him. Dressed in his suit, his hands were covered by black gloves, a watch on his left wrist. He had no scars that lingered on his body, his whole being was neat and tidy. Overall, he could be described as a cold and merciless man, especially with the glare in his eyes. He was in his late thirties, at 37 years old.
“Is this your son, Daichii?” Tendou Naoki called out as he saw Narisa Zeno’s appearance.
Narisa Daichii merely nodded his head as he replied, “He is. He must be close to your grandson for them to come together.”
Narisa Daichii nodded at Narisa Zeno but he didn’t say anything. This wasn’t their home, it would be best to talk in another place.

Narisa Zeno saw their signal and turned away, walking and sitting down next to Tendou Yagami.
The two didn’t talk to each other, no one did. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to but they were awaiting a serious topic ahead.
When Tendou Naoki saw that everyone was here, he finally set down the cup in his hand. He looked at Tendou Eiichi as he said, “Well, begin. Let me see what it is you wanted to speak about.”
Tendou Eiichi finally cleared his throat, sitting up with his back straight. “Father, I wanted to speak about the matter of the next head and who the inheritance will go to.”
“Continue,” Tendou Naoki said when Tendou Eiichi paused.
“I want my son, Otashi Hideo to be the next head.”
There was a commotion with that. Narisa Zeno couldn’t help but realize just how dumb this man was. Tendou Naoki was clearly silent with a deadly intent.
Tendou Yagami sat still, as if the words didn’t affect him. He already knew how crazy his father was, he didn’t expect anything out of this man. Plus, he still had his brother, and most of all, he had Narisa Zeno. He didn’t need anything else.

Tendou Yui was the first to break her silence, setting down her cup so loud, Shiru Sakura jumped. “Have you been the head for so long that you have become muddled now? You want an outsider to inherit the position that my father had worked so hard for? You have two capable sons, two sons that carry the family’s own blood and you want someone with no blood ties to this family to carry it on? What are you? Crazy?” She sneered at Shiru Sakura as she said this, a face filled with contempt.
Shiru Sakura looked down, her face blushing with anger. Otashi Hideo couldn’t help but be embarrassed.
“Yui, he is my son too. Though not my blood, my bond with him is as well as with both of my other sons.” Tendou Eiichi added, furrowing his brow.
“Father, if you let this madman do as he said, you’ll be better off sentencing this household to destruction. I have two amazing nephews, two whom are capable just like my sister was. They are the ones fully capable of carrying on this household to even greater glory.” Tendou Yui couldn’t help but say to her father.
While Tendou Eiichi wasn’t a good father, it did not mean that Tendou Yui was not a great aunt. Though she didn’t interact often with Tendou Akiyama and Tendou Yagami, she was close with their mother. She was also someone with a backbone so strong, she refused Tendou Naoki’s orders of getting married. Even if she didn’t do much, she truly loved her nephews.
“Father, while I know that you love Miss Shiru and her son, I do hope you understand that grandfather has put too much work into the Yakuza to let it fall into the hands of an outsider.” Tendou Akiyama was the first to reply, looking up at Tendou Eiichi as he said this. He smiled as if he had not just berate his own father.
Tendou Eiichi turned to Tendou Akiyama at once. “Aki…”
Tendou Naoki merely slammed his hand onto the table, a loud sound reverberating through the room. “My old friend, what do you think about this?” He turned to Narisa Daichii.
Narisa Daichii looked at Tendou Naoki as he respectfully replied, “It is rare that an outsider will be given the chance to become the head of the household. It is only when there are no blood-related kin left directly from the head before an outsider will be allowed to be given this honor. It is not my place to say, but I believe only one’s strength is able to prove their worth.”
Everyone flickered their eyes towards Tendou Naoki as he let out a loud laugh, hands repeatedly clapping down on the table. “Right! Simple as that. It seems my old age is getting to me. I heard my grandson has made a name for himself at Takimura, your school, hasn’t he?” Saying this, he directed his question to Narisa Fuchikawa.
Narisa Fuchikawa smiled as he replied, “He has, a fearless man who takes after you, indeed.”
“I see. Then why don’t we settle this with a fight? If Hideo can defeat Yagami, I will allow him to become the next head.”
Otashi Hideo opened his eyes with shock. Fighting? Although he knew how to, he had heard of Tendou Yagami’s deeds from far and wide. This was simply a death wish.
On the other hand, Tendou Yagami couldn’t hide the smile that appeared on his face. Rather than a smile, it was a smirk, a smirk that seemed to be filled with evil intent.
Narisa Zeno, himself, couldn’t help but crack a small smile once he heard what Tendou Naoki said. It looks like Tendou Yagami was really going to let loose this time.
Tendou Akiyama eyed his brother and Narisa Zeno with a glance but didn’t say anything. These two really were meant for each other…
“Father, this…” Began Tendou Eiichi but he didn’t continue, for fear that Tendou Naoki may do something more. Deep down though, worry flooded his heart for he knew well that Tendou Yagami was too strong for Otashi Hideo to defeat.
“Husband, it’s alright, let Hideo take this challenge. If he is to become the head, he must have the strength to back it up.” Shiru Sakura finally spoke up, her hand reaching to grasp onto Tendou Eiichi’s, yet deep in her eyes, there was a shine of reluctance.
Tendou Yui snorted at Shiru Sakura’s words, rolling her eyes as she said. “I hope you won’t eat those words after my nephew beats your son black and blue.” She sneered at Shiru Sakura, a look of ridicule on her face.
Shiru Sakura didn’t say anything, yet her face couldn’t help but blush with shame as she cowered back behind Tendou Eiichi. There was anger in her heart but she didn’t say anything, for fear that she may do something irreversible. After all the work she has done, she couldn’t make her son lose his only hope.
Tendou Eiichi wasn’t able to see the expression on his dear wife’s face so he merely held her in his arms. His eyes glared at Tendou Yui but he didn’t say anything either.
Tendou Yui merely returned a cocky smile at them, eyes in a taunting matter.
“Yagami, you’re good with this decision, right?” Tendou Naoki turned to his grandson, a look of conspiracy within his eyes, a mysterious glow that Tendou Yagami recognized at once.
Tendou Yagami nodded his head, “Of course, grandfather. This much, I can at least do.” Saying this, he couldn’t help but send a glance at Otashi Hideo, not hiding his animosity.
Shiru Sakura looked at her son and finally looked at Tendou Yagami. She knew that her son wasn’t as strong as Tendou Yagami was. How could her son compare to a man who went to a school filled with gangsters and fighters? Although her son was able to defend himself easily, he couldn’t compare to Tendou Yagami who fought with his life on the line.
Finally, her eyes turned to the man beside her, who was dressed in a black suit with glasses on. Without these two things, one would notice how his face easily looked younger, like that of someone from a high school, not yet old enough to enter the business of the Yakuza.
Tendou Eiichi stared at his son, “Are you willing to do this?” Though he would wish for this not to happen, he understood that to become the next head, one must prove their strength.
“It is alright, father. I will do as the leader asks.” Otashi Hideo finally replied at once, eyes looking at Tendou Eiichi without anger. For now, he couldn’t do anything yet. He had to wait.
“Worry not, I will change the rules and make them easier for you. Each of you can choose one person to fight alongside with you. This should be making it much easier for both you and your son. Right, my dear son-in-law?” Tendou Naoki said, eyes towards Tendou Eiichi as he folded his hands in front of him.
When Tendou Yagami heard what Tendou Naoki said, he immediately turned towards Narisa Zeno whom had remained quiet during this whole ordeal, merely watching to see what his dear husband would do.
“Will you?” Tendou Yagami asked, a soft smile on his lips that changed the original coldness of his contours.
Narisa Zeno smiled. How could he say no when Tendou Yagami was looking at him like that? It was simply impossible to refuse him when he made a face like that.
“Of course, whatever you do, I will follow.”

Otherwise why would he go so far as to try to give a child which wasn’t his own the inheritance which doesn’t belong to himself as well?
Most probably they have been together for a long time, trying to scheme their way into the gang, hiding Hideo’s identity by giving him a random different surname… Idiots!

No Matter if he has blood realtions to that Eichii guy or not.. he still won’t be of tendou blood.. these people are really dumb sometimes.. they could have insulted that joke of a father with his own words.. especially since they’re considered “clever” by the author.. the dialogue writing in this arc can be so much better but still love the arc.
