Story of Another UsCh33 - Realization

After an hour or so, the car stopped in front of the starport. Sebi was able to recognize it because of his inherited memories, since it seems like the original Sebi of this universe was first found from a different planet in the Terra Star System. The airports he had seen in books couldn’t compare with what he was currently seeing.

The starport was more like… something that could have been found in science fiction illustrations. dzciGB

“Everyone, your passports,” Necomir said as he put on a pair of sunglasses.

Sebi watched as the three fumbled with their lightbands. He looked at Necomir with bleary eyes, and the taller immediately understood.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

“Come here,” he said, gesturing at Sebi who waddled his way towards him.

After showing Sebi how to access his passport, Necomir took an encrypted copy together with the others before he walked towards the check-in counter. Sebi found it funny, especially because in Necomir’s outfit, he looked more mature and seemed like the dad of four teenage kids. dC6owu

“I hate his uncute ass most of the time but we wouldn’t be anywhere without him,” Bellona sighed as she watched Necomir wistfully. “Did you know, Sebi? I didn’t know how to check-in by myself when I went off on a reckless trip back to Phohenus. I called Necomir in panic and he yelled at me but he was helpful.”

“He even fixed my first car for me when I ran into a pole,” Akhenaten sighed. “My parents only knew about it when I accidentally joked about it.”

Sebi laughed at how helpless they were. The Necomir of this universe grew to be so capable, and he was happy he could witness it.

Necomir came back and looked unsure as he cleared his throat and said, “Our rented starship has been, uh, paid for…”

“It must be Misharu,” Akhenaten smiled. “I’ll just pay him back later.”

Everyone looked at him pointedly. Akhenaten blinked, looking cornered as he stuttered, “W-What? Didn’t I mention that Misharu was coming?”

Necomir’s eyebrows furrowed. “You didn’t–”

Sebi shrugged. As someone who just wanted to experience something new, he wasn’t bothered if there were more of them coming. And besides, he and Misharu were considered to be friends now.  yKquxT

“I don’t mind, Misharu and I have become close,” Sebi smiled.

The person in question was already inside the starship, enjoying a glass of red wine while laughing at something that he was reading from his lightband.

The five paused upon hearing his laughter. Sebi felt a bit of a chill, thinking that Misharu’s laughter was too devilish.

They looked at each other before entering.  O6CmEK

“There you are, I almost thought you wouldn’t come anymore,” Misharu smiled at them, looking a lot like a rich heir instead of an insane person now that he was dressed in a very fashionable high-end outfit befitting a rich heir. It was too bad he still had his blindfold on, he would definitely look very charming.

“Are you sure you want to come with us?” Bellona mused as she stared at Misharu. “What if we exact revenge on you for messing with Decebal?”

“Don’t be ridiculous, I’ve already suffered enough humiliation in front of him,” Misharu nonchalantly waved his hand. “Anyway, let’s have some tea.”

The trip to Phohenus would take twelve hours through space jumps, quite a short time compared to trips to other planets because it was the closest to Terra. The six young adults had a lot of time for themselves, which they can spend however they want. elva39

Sebi was seated by the window, eyes wide as he stared out into the vast expansion of the stellar universe. It was his first time personally seeing the star fields and celestial bodies, he definitely couldn’t waste any minute filling his eyes with the sight.

Necomir came over, peering at the strangely quiet Sebi. His eyes were wide and sparkly, the stars casting a shine in them. A bright little smile was on his lips. It gave Necomir the strange impression that this was his first time seeing the sight of space…

“Have you forgotten what space looks like?” Necomir finally asked as he sat across him.

The universe was quite the spectacle, but Necomir was also a sight to behold, so Sebi’s eyes couldn’t help but be pulled in by his gravity.  H1Wlvi

“It has been years,” Sebi laughed quietly as he looked back out of the window. “The universe is both beautiful and terrifying. I love the view, but it makes me feel so… infinitesimal. Like I don’t matter.”

Sebi couldn’t help himself but be swallowed in such deep, glum thoughts.

How could he not, when his very existence was questionable.

Somewhere out there past the star fields and the asteroids, probably somewhere higher than this very universe, something had played with Sebi’s life and pushed him into this new one. If it was able to give him this new life, then it can also easily take it away from him. The thought gave his heart a painful ache, especially as he stared at the man across him. iStsdM

He just met the person he treasured so much again in this second lifetime, Sebi couldn’t just easily let go of this chance. He didn’t want to die, but he knew it would be so easy if that something out there simply thought Sebi had enough of this dream.

“Stop.”

Sebi’s thoughts were shattered when Necomir forcefully said that word. He looked up at him, met by a serious pair of golden eyes. Those eyes most of the time looked pretty, sometimes sultry, sometimes disinterested. Despite this, they always glinted under the lights. But when Necomir was serious, their brightness become a bit dim and their depths become deeper.

“Don’t say those kinds of things,” Necomir said as he gave him a meaningful look.  ROkWPo

“You’re important to me,” he wanted to say, but Necomir felt that was bizarre to hear so he ended up saying, “A lot of people care for you. Don’t let the complex things overwhelm you.”

Sebi pursed his lips and nodded. He didn’t know why his brain was so negative, but it was good that Necomir was there to comfort him and bring some sense into his mind.

After a thoughtful silence, Necomir suddenly continued, “Sebi, when we head back, let’s train together. Be an official member of Team Fulminare.”

Brown beady eyes opened wide as Sebi stared at him. “B-But we still have not–” dNwdVH

“I think… we’re better off as teammates,” Necomir softly said.

They have not battled it out in the Hexagon. Their rivalry did not have closure yet, which Sebi knew was important to Necomir even though he himself didn’t have such feelings.

But Necomir had a change of heart. It wasn’t sudden – it was gradual, and it took time for him to realize it. His strong feelings of wanting to fight Sebi had disappeared, leaving behind an inextricable feeling of wanting to be by his side instead. He wasn’t as eager to beat Sebi anymore, he just wanted to be teammates now. He wanted to take care of him, help him develop, and together, they would lead their team to victory.

That sounded better than simply fighting it out in the Hexagon. k8KM4F

“Th-That sounds great!” Sebi excitedly said, his gloom finally disappearing and instantly replaced by happiness. “I’d like that, I’d like that a lot!”

Necomir nodded, satisfied by his response.

  1. Sebi was cute today as well, though this chapter made me wonder, what is the truth behind what caused him to wake up in this world? Maybe, we’ll know in the future?

I like seeing the relationships around Sebi becoming stronger, specialy Necomir, he’s starting to realize his feelings for Sebi, though Sebi already liked him. This chapter was cute.Oh well,Thank you for the chapter.
