When dinner was ready, Chen You beckoned the other to come down to eat. He had to shout a few times before he heard the sound of someone coming down the stairs.
In all honesty, in the real world, he had also served his old man like this. Ever since he had begun traversing mission worlds, good heavens, any one of his mission targets were treated like a precious baby of his, with him being the caring and concerned parent who stroked their baby comfortingly every now and then, and was even deathly afraid of them tripping over their own feet.
“I feel like my life has been very wretched.”
The system commented, “I see that you’re actually really happy, though.”
Chen You sighed deeply. “What do you know? That is me trying to find joy in hardship, do you understand?”
The system expressed that it didn’t understand. “To be able to actually find joy is already not bad.”
Chen You couldn’t even muster the energy to refute.
During dinner, Chen You took out a bottle of red wine from the wine cabinet. There were plenty of bottles in it anyway, so just leaving them lying around would be a waste—drinking it would be his way of helping to tidy and clear the place up.
However, Chen You was not a wine connoisseur. The age of the wine, the brewing methods, he knew none of it.
Jian Dan watched him take a huge gulp. “Do you know how much your one gulp costs?”
Chen You shook his head. “No.”
Jian Dan mentioned a number.
Chen You was shocked, bringing the wine glass closer to his face to take a closer look at the red wine inside. “That’s really expensive ah.”
A second later, he heard Jian Dan say, “In US Dollars.”
Pu------
Chen You spat out a mouthful of wine. Fortunately, he was able to turn away at the last second. If he were any slower, a red flower would have begun to bloom on Jian Dan’s white blouse at his chest.
He went away to grab a mop and started to clean up his mess. “Isn’t it just wine made from fermenting grapes? Is it really worth that much?”
Jian Dan stated, “The bottle of wine you chose is the only one of its kind in the entire world.”
Chen You gawked for a while before laughing drily. “How am I this good at choosing?”
Jian Dan swept his gaze over him, keeping silent as he closed his mouth.
After knowing the exorbitant price of the wine, Chen You only took small sips. But even with each sip, his heart felt pained. He was really down about it—Jian Dan’s company in M City had already been acquired by others, and the cash they had on hand shouldn’t amount to much now.
Why did it feel as though it was impossible to squander….
Even if he asked him this, it would only be useless. This person had even forgotten him ah.
Jian Dan suddenly asked, “What’s this?”
Chen You glanced at the tiny thing that Jian Dan grabbed with his chopsticks, saying very calmly, “That’s a worm ah.”
Jian Dan’s complexion was extremely bad. “I know that it’s a worm. Why is it in the dish?”
You’re really strange. This worm is green; one look and anyone could tell that it grew up on vegetables. If it’s not in the vegetables, where else would it be?
Chen You smiled as he said, “That’s a cabbage worm. It’s not dirty.”
Jian Dan placed his chopsticks down, not eating anymore.
Chen You internally jeered. If you don’t want to eat, then don’t. It’s just a caterpillar, not even a huge centipede. He then gathered the rice with his chopsticks, shoving two lumps into his mouth rapidly.

Chen You clicked his tongue. This was really the composure of someone who was a big boss and had accomplished big things. Being able to move on at this speed was something not just anyone like Chen You could do.
He stuffed his mouth with vegetables and rice, his voice muffled, “Senior, you still haven’t recovered any memories yet?”
Jian Dan answered, “No.”
Chen You, “Oh.”
He got himself some soup to drink and noticed another small worm. This was from the pork ribs soup with vegetables, and the vegetables were all obtained from the same source—it wasn’t surprising that there were more worms.
Chen You removed the worm sneakily, not letting Jian Dan see him doing so.
Jian Dan then drank a big bowl of this soup.
Humans were like this—regarding the bugs that came along with the vegetables and grains, as long as they didn’t see any of them on their dishes, then it’d be alright. But when they noticed it, they’d start to feel uncomfortable all over.
Chen You wasn’t like that. Since young, he had often eaten dishes that had ants, weevils, and caterpillars. He had simply gotten used to their presence in his meals after having encountered them so often.
After eating his fill, Jian Dan left his plate and chopsticks on the table, getting ready to leave as he got up.
Chen You copied Jian Dan, getting up as he said, “Senior, I don’t feel like washing the dishes today.”
Jian Dan replied, “Don’t do the dishes, then.”
Chen You thought that this person finally had a conscience and was in an exceptional mood when suddenly, the other person said, “Just wash them tomorrow.”
“…”
“444, release the dogs and let them bite him!”
The system responded, “We don’t have dogs. Do the biting yourself, ba.”
Chen You admitted defeat.
Forget about it, if he were to really rush up to the other person, he would’ve been directly tossed aside before he even got near to him.
He tidied up the kitchen and went out to look for Jian Dan.
Stars filled the entirety of the evening sky, and the ranch was silent in the cover of the night. The road lamps in the vicinity were all left on, and they were only switched off after the cattle and sheep fell asleep.
Under a big crooked tree, Jian Dan stood with his phone in hand. Chen You didn’t know whether he was on the phone or calling someone—he was too far, so he couldn’t see nor hear him clearly.
Chen You went over to him stealthily. He hadn’t even found a good hiding spot for himself when Jian Dan hung up on his call.
Jian Dan put his phone in his jeans pocket. “Why did you follow me out?”
Since he’d been noticed, Chen You simply decided not to hide anymore. He swaggered over to Jian Dan. “I’m keeping you company for your walk.”
Jian Dan replied, “I don’t need your company.”
Chen You laughed teasingly. “You say that you don’t want it when you actually do want it—I understand.”
Jian Dan wandered in a single direction. “What kind of person was I before?”
Chen You froze.
This question, how to say this…. It’s a bit complicated.
“Senior was an extremely successful person who owned a large company and had many properties, a very amazing person.”
Jian Dan’s footsteps never ceased. “How was I outside of work?”
Chen You rummaged through his vocabulary. “You had a strong sense of righteousness, and you treated your brothers and friends very well.”
“Really?” Jian Dan continued, “However, when I was hospitalised, the only people who visited were Zheng Ze and some other person besides you and my subordinates.”
Chen You felt sorry for the long-legged girl. He had brought her up multiple times, but Jian Dan simply couldn’t remember her name.
It made his heart sour.
“You didn’t have many friends, but the close ones you have are meant to be.”
Jian Dan asked, “ How did I treat you?”
Chen You raised his head, gazing at Jian Dan’s back. This question is even harder to answer, ai.
He dug through the memories of his arrival to this world, “Besides that one time, you treated me fairly well.”
Jian Dan asked, “When was that one time?”
Chen You went around him and stood in front of Jian Dan as he gave Jian Dan a suggestive look.
Jian Dan immediately realised what it meant, furrowing his brows. “We’ve… done it before?”
Chen You, “…” Mr. CEO, this innocently shocked face of yours is endearingly amusing.
“That day, when we were in your hotel, I drank too much, and so did you. The things we did later… I don’t need to further elaborate for you to imagine, ba. The morning after, I found myself lying on the rug, while you have already left for breakfast downstairs, and not only did you not wake me up for breakfast, but you also didn’t cover me with a blanket. Don’t you think that’s too much?”
Jian Dan pursed his lips, “Sorry.”
“If apologies were so effective, what do you need uncles for?”
Chen You sighed. “It’s not that I want to nitpick at you. Senior, you’re someone who has money and good looks—an all-rounder. It’s just that you especially liked to stir things up. When it came to me, this junior, you didn’t even smile like a person anymore, and you were very unfriendly. Really, there were many times when I wanted to pee on your face.”
Jian Dan expressionlessly asked, “Then why did you change your mind time after time?”
Chen You said, “If we got physical, I couldn’t beat you, ah.”
Jian Dan was quiet for a while before saying, “Seems like the previous me really didn’t treat you well.”
“Yeah, damn straight,” Chen You said. “You must be wondering: since it’s already like this, why am I still here accompanying you, right?”
He raised his head, gazing into the starry sky. After mulling over his emotions, he answered himself in a deeply passionate manner, “This must be love.”
Jian Dan smiled with his eyes closed. “You were shaking when you said this sentence.”
“That’s because of my naturally weak kidneys. I feel a little weak.”
Stifling his smile, Chen You pointed to his two ears and changed the subject, “Can you see them? These six diamond earrings were all bought by you when you took me abroad for treatment, and you also personally put them on my ears.”
Jian Dan was speechless.
Chen You continued, “You also think that six are too much, right? I tell you, there are still three more, and you really wanted them on me. Yours truly would rather die than wear them, but you—who am I to say no to you? I still ended up with those piercings, but I’ve already taken them off now.”
Jian Dan looked Chen You up and down, as though he were confused, wondering where else the piercings could be worn.
Chen You coughed. “Let’s end the conversation here for today. If Senior still wants to know anything about your past, you can ask me anytime.”
He yawned. “I’m going back to sleep. Goodnight.”
However, he still didn’t move.
Jian Dan gave him a look. “Weren’t you going back to sleep?”
Chen You replied, “Wish me goodnight, then I’ll leave.”
Jian Dan responded after a while, “Goodnight.”
Chen You had only taken a step when he turned back abruptly, pecking Jian Dan on the cheek. “This is a goodnight kiss. See you tomorrow.”
Jian Dan touched his face. Then, he continued to walk like nothing had happened.
Chen You’s daily life was monotonous—with just two people on the ranch, they were like an old couple who were tired of the hustle and bustle of city life and had chosen to come here to enjoy their golden years peacefully.
His culinary skills had improved by leaps and bounds. Before, he had only liked to research meat dishes: things like pig trotters, ribs, drumsticks, those were all meat. Now, he could even carve flowers out of vegetables. With a Chinese cabbage as an example, he could even make up to twenty different types of flowers.
To put it frankly, his life was wonderful in all aspects. It was just that his mission lacked progress.
Around noon one day, Chen You was watching TV on the sofa. There was a comedic variety show being broadcasted; even if he didn’t understand English, he could understand the general scenario.
The male guest of the programme was dancing a Pasodoble, but in the end, there was a mistake somewhere in the segment. As a result, the “cow” wasn’t in sync with the music anymore, creating an extremely awkward atmosphere. Chen You laughed out loud merrily, laughing himself into incontinence.
At first, Chen You didn’t notice anything amiss. He was still laughing, but then, it happened again….
At this very moment, Chen You felt even more awkward than that male guest.
He quickly got up from the sofa and went to the washroom to change his pants and take a shower.
Just as he was at the door of the washroom, Chen You suddenly looked back. Jian Dan was still sitting there, with his back straight and his head bent over a book. There was nothing out of the ordinary.
But, his breathing clearly became a lot heavier right?!
Chen You didn’t bother with changing his pants anymore, and from Jian Dan’s hands,he directly snatched the book which hadn’t had its pages turned. Without saying another word, he sat on Jian Dan’s lap.
The duo faced each other. Be it emotional or physical changes, none could be hidden away.
Jian Dan’s facial expression changed repeatedly, “Get off.”
Chen You leaned on his shoulder without a care for his words, breathing into his ear, “Senior, my junior is ready.”
Jian Dan repeated what he said earlier. It was obvious that he was still holding back.
Fine, you still want to continue pretending, right? Looks like you are forcing my hand.
Chen You waited for a while, before he peed again.
Jian Dan felt a wave of heat on his pants. The vein on his temple suddenly jumped. Then, he dragged the person on his thighs into the washroom…
That evening, Chen You nestled himself in the rocking chair, dwelling in regret. It was such a waste that he was so careful in the past, not daring to drink a lot of water. Chen You was deathly afraid of being incontinent in front of Jian Dan and causing him to storm off angrily.
Who could have thought that wetting oneself would have such a huge use, it even completely turned the situation around ah.
“I didn’t expect that.”
The system said, “Same.”
Chen You snorted, “ Drop the act, like hell anyone would believe that.”
He took a bunch of raisins from the bag on his lap, “I think I understand now. You and Jian Dan are partners, and the both of you are deceiving me.”
Frightening sounds of meat being chopped was emitted from the kitchen.
Chen You silently chanted, “I can’t hear anything, I’m deaf.”
After repeating this mantra a few dozen times, Chen You yielded as he jumped off the rocking chair, going over to check things out.
Hello everyone! I’m a new co-TL for this novel, posted for the first time yesterday but was still learning the ropes on posting so didn’t leave a TL note at the bottom of the chapter. First off, I apologise if formatting was way off for chapter 89.1- my eyes were like @-@ while checking it ahahaha (Didn’t help that it was 3am when I was done oop).
Anyways, my second apology would be related to the inconsistent release schedule. We try to post on Mondays but real life gets in the way T-T So sorry about that, we’ll try to give a heads up when we can from now on.
As many of you noticed, this is a chapter update that happened two days in a row! YAAAS – This is to make up for the missed release weekly schedule. Chapter 89 is super long but thankfully already translated, it just needs some editing and formatting before it can be posted. I will be posting all of it tmr, and it will conclude this arc.
Chapter 90 will be posted next week, starting with a new arc that will be updated on a weekly basis.
Thank you for reading!
Thank you for the chapter

Excuse me ok so what happened exactly??
That convo really did end there, the system didn’t reply him and the next paragraph was about another scene happening in the kitchen. I’m sorry if it looked like a cliff hanger T-T
I’ve added the following sentences to show the continuation for it to be less confusing. Thank you for letting me know how to improve it!
I was asking about the last scene where he sat on top of the ml and what happened after that did they do it or what cause the scene was very vague and I couldn’t understand it
Thank you for your hard work!!!
