  7. It took me quite a while to figure out that ‘pspsps’ is supposed to reference calling cats. Heh. As a child, I learned to use ‘prrrr’ to call them, with the r’s rolled. It’s what all of my cats have been trained to respond to, from then until now. Except the current cat… she’s a rescue from a backyard kitten farm. Inbred, with birth defects, and easily the least intelligent cat I’ve ever encountered. She has the memory of a jellyfish, so she’s never learned come when called, even for treats. (Incidentally, the usual saying is ‘memory of a goldfish’, but actually goldfish have a fairly good memory. Jellyfish literally have no brain, so it seems more fitting).
