“Everyone’s coming over and the house is nowhere near ready.” Kloh cursed and tugged on his hair.
Dex laughed and came up behind him, hugging him. Kloh huffed and tried to shake him off. But Dex held on and after a minute some of the tension in Kloh left.
“Relax. It’s still early. We have time to finish plus our minions haven’t arrived yet. It’ll be fine.” Dex soothed the erratic emotions running through Kloh.
“Ares is bringing his new boyfriend. Olive is bringing her girlfriend. I don’t know who Beau is bringing but I’m sure they’ll be terrifying if they voluntarily choose to be with him. And I invited Adam and Dmitri. Lee is late with the rest of the food and my turkey is fighting me. There’s too many people. Why do I know so many people?” Kloh whined.
Dex laughed again and squeezed Kloh comfortingly. He pressed several kisses to Kloh’s cheek to appease him.
“Your fault for being such a nice person. A lot of them did offer to help set it up and you said no.” Dex grinned.
“I know but I still want to complain.” Kloh pouted and rested against Dex for a moment.
“Well everything will be fine. Lee will be here in 30ish minutes. Wesley and Mars just picked up Simon and Noe to help us, although they probably won’t get here till after we finish. There’s still 3 hours before anyone is expected to arrive. We got this.”
Kloh let out a deep exhale and nodded. Dex was right. They had time. For a moment he started to regret deciding to host a Friendsgiving dinner. But after Dex talked him down he was okay. It was going to be fine.
“Okay. Okay. You’re right. Ugh you’re literally perfect. Truly the smartest person I know.” Kloh turned and kissed Dex on the lips.
Dex smiled against the kiss. He kissed the frustrated alpha until he was calm again. It was moments like this that Dex remembered Kloh was an omega at one point. It may be playing a bit into stereotypes but Kloh was a somewhat traditional omega in a sense. He loved housework and loved to play host.
Dex had spent the night and when he got up Kloh was already up and bustling around. He cooked Dex breakfast in bed then disappeared to finish cleaning out the rooms for people who were staying to use. By the time Dex was full and lucid, Kloh had finished setting up the rooms and had moved onto fixing the living room and foyer.
Dex was given the job of moving the extra chairs and table into the dining room. Once the rooms were tidy and set up, Kloh delved into cooking. He had prepped the night before and was essentially halfway done with cooking. Dex, being the terrible cook he was, was sent to clean up the backyard. Kloh had been running on 100 the whole day. Dex was worried at one point that Kloh was running himself ragged. But after checking in he realized Kloh was having fun. He was thoroughly enjoying himself. And the madness and chaos he was in was delightful.
Fast forward to now, the turkey had a small little mishap and for several minutes Kloh was devastated. After Dex consoled him, he turned the dial back up to 100 and finished up the side dishes. An hour passed quickly and Lee arrived with the other dishes that Kloh had put in special orders for.
“Okay we got the alfredo and pesto dishes from Bran’s Best. We got the cornbread and rum punch from Grandma Arlene’s. And last but not the least we got a wonderful variety of liquor.” Lee announced as he burst through the front door, arms full of food and drinks.
“Finally! Put that down on the table. Dex help him get the rest of the stuff out of the car. Then you two can set the table.” Kloh gave commands as he grabbed the platters from Lee.
“Sir yes sir.” Lee saluted with a goofy smile and went back out.
Dex followed behind him and quickly they finished unpacking the rest of the things Lee had bought. Taking orders from Kloh, they finished setting up the house for guests. Kloh finally took a breath as he put the final touches on his turkey. Everything was cooked and cleaned. He smiled to himself as he looked around the kitchen. The turkey was done. The side dishes were all set; collared greens, mac and cheese, fried rice, white rice, corn on the cob, esquites, biscuits, and mashed potatoes. Plus the things Lee had brought and the deserts that everyone was bringing. The rooms were cleaned, the table was set and there was enough space for everyone coming.
Kloh sank into the couch and rested. Dex came up behind him and massaged his shoulders. A satisfied groan left him as the knots and aches disappeared under Dex’s touch. A serene smile appeared on his face making Dex smile in return.
“Wanna get cleaned up before everyone starts showing up?” Dex asked as he continued to massage the tired man.
“Ugh, yes. I’m all sweaty and covered in various condiments.” Kloh sighed and held his arms up to Dex. “Help me up please.”
Dex chuckled then obliged. Kloh let out a groan as Dex pulled him up. He leaned against Dex, taking in the omega’s warmth and scent. Dex smiled and patted Kloh’s back.
“Off you go. Take your time. People won’t arrive for another hour.” Dex kissed his cheek then pushed him towards the stairs.
Kloh nodded and went up the stairs. Dex watched him till he rounded the corner and was out of sight. He then went to sit on the couch. A small smile danced on lips as he took in the environment. He hadn’t expected to enjoy being with Kloh like this. It was interesting seeing the different sides of the omega turned alpha. Especially seeing the omega side of him that had been hidden away.
Although Kloh had taken to the alpha thing easily, Dex could tell that it wasn’t natural for him. He was loosening well though. But today Kloh was truly in his element. It was the most relaxed Dex had seen him since they met. This domestic Kloh was truly endearing and made him want to smother the little alpha with kisses. It also stirred up his own omega instincts. Kloh would definitely make a good father. Dex could imagine them living together, raising kids, the whole shebang. Dex hummed happily as he unknowingly started to plan their future together.

Everyone joined in laughing as Lee pouted and covered his face with a pillow. Kloh patted his back in consolation but couldn’t help but laugh as well. Everyone sat in the living room after they had finished eating dinner. Many people still had small plates of food that were nibbling on as they talked. Ares had been telling embarrassing stories about everyone making the group of people laugh. He sat comfortably in his boyfriend’s lap. Who surprise surprise turned out to be Manny, Kloh’s classmate and friend Manny. When they had showed up together Kloh was caught so off guard, meanwhile the two were cackling at his reaction.

They spent a while just talking and laughing. The newer people to the group were introduced to each other. And very soon the liquor was brought out and the games had begun. The smile on Dex’s face froze and almost vanished. But he caught himself and put a polite smile on.

The smile on Dex’s face stiffened.
“Old?” He asked.
“I can see why he’d like you though. You’re somewhat his type. Although he did prefer softer omegas, tall ones always held a place in his heart.” Alexandre continued muttering as he looked Dex over.
“Once again, how can I help at such a late hour?” Dex asked again.
“Oh. I’m sure you know who I am therefore I’ll only partially introduce myself. I’m Alexandre, Kloh’s one and only omega.”
He puffed up his chest and titled his head arrogantly. His red hair that was tied up in a ponytail bounced with the movement, the two loose strands moving across his face. Dex didn’t even resist the urge to roll his eyes.
“You mean his ex boyfriend.”
The polite smile melted away and a glare took over. Alexandre only smiled as if Dex’s words went right over his head.
“Sure. But that can change anytime. So I chose to live in the future. You’re clearly only a pastime until he forgives me. Once we make up I won’t mind if you two stay friends.”
“If you’re gonna spout nonsense please leave.” Dex deadpanned and went to close the door.
“Wait!” A pair of long pale delicate fingers gripped the door.
For a second Dex was tempted to continue pulling the door even with his fingers still there. Thankfully his better judgment pulled forward. Irritated, he pushed the door open forcefully. Surprised at the sudden movement Alexandre yelped and staggered backwards. He tripped over himself and fell onto his butt. A chuckle came out before Dex could stop it.
“You did that on purpose.” Alexandre whined as he looked up at Dex aggrievedly.
“Not my fault you have a terrible reaction speed. It sounds like nothing is broken. You can go now.” Dex rolled his eyes and went to shut the door.
“KLOH!” Alexandre started screaming.
“KLOH GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!”
Dex scoffed and shut the door. Walking back to the living room he caught Kloh’s eye and beckoned him over. Kloh quickly extracted himself from the group and went over to a visibly annoyed Dex.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” Kloh said with a frown as he stopped in front of Dex.
“You have an unwanted guest.” Dex calmly said.
Then he sat down on the bottom staircase and gestured for Kloh to open the door. Confused Kloh looked at the door, at Dex then back at the door. He walked over and opened it. Immediately he was met with screams of his name.
“KLOH, YOU GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!” Alexandre continued to yell, voice nasally as though he was about to cry.
“What the hell are you doing?” Kloh stiffly asked as he recognized the person.
“Kloh!” Alexandre’s voice got lower but more aggrieved as he looked up at Kloh with watery eyes.
Alexandre could always provoke protective emotions from Kloh. Although he was annoyed and confused about the situation a part of him still wanted to reach forward and console the delicate omega. But he didn’t. Because Alexandre wasn’t his omega and his real omega was sitting right behind him listening.
“Alexandre, why are you here? And why are you on the ground?” Kloh asked.
“He pushed me! That wicked old man!” Alexandre accused, pointing inside where Dex sat, as tears threatened to fall.
Pushed him? Did Dex and Alexandre fight? No, that was wrong. Dex wouldn’t do something like that. It was more probable that Alexandre tried to do something first and Dex retaliated.
“I don’t believe you. Dex wouldn’t do that.” Kloh shook his head.
“I’m not lying. He pushed the door at me and made me trip. He did it on purpose.” Alexandre cried louder.
“Dex isn’t childish and petty like you.”
“Kloh!”
“What are you doing here?” Kloh crossed his arms and waited for the waterworks to stop.
Seeing that Kloh wasn’t going to step out and help, Alexandre got up. He huffed and wiped away the tears that spilled. He looked at Kloh with red rimmed eyes and a pout that once upon a time would’ve made Kloh’s heart hurt. But looking at him now Kloh didn’t feel much, other than pity.
“Why are you here Alexandre? It’s too late for an omega to be wandering around.”
“I literally live two houses down, I’ll be fine. Plus Davey walked me over.”
“Fine then. Again, why are you here?”
Alexandre crossed his arms and looked down bashfully. He kicked the air and peeked up Kloh.
“I wanted to see you. You didn’t answer my messages. And I heard that you had found a new omega to play with.”
“Watch your mouth. I’m not playing with anyone.” Kloh immediately scolded him.
“Well that’s what I was told. And I wanted to confirm it. But now I can see it’s true.” Alexandre peeked around him at Dex, who waved at him.
Alexandre scrunched up his nose in annoyance and faced Kloh again. His demeanor then changed to a soft spoken innocent vibe.
“I know you’re still mad at me. Which is why I won’t be offended by this relationship. But you shouldn’t take it too far. Otherwise what am I gonna tell my parents?” He bashfully looked up at Kloh.
“We are not together. We broke up months ago. My relationship is none of your business. I’m really trying to be cordial with you Alexandre because of my previous feelings for you. Please don’t make me change that attitude.” Kloh sighed, tired and over it.
“I said I was sorry. I swear it wasn’t my idea. I just wanted us to be together forever. You have to forgive me. We belong together, Kloh.” The omega insisted and ran forward, hugging Kloh.
Kloh’s arms went up reflexively. Alexandre hugged him tighter.

“Let him go.” Dex’s cold voice creeped into their ears.
They both felt a chill run through them. Then Alexandre squeaked as a fierce oppressive feeling descended onto him. He went limp and crumbled to his feet, releasing his hold on Kloh. He reached and covered his throbbing gland in an attempt to hide from the citrus scented pheromones that were drowning him. He glanced up and saw Dex looking down at him menacingly. For the first time he felt a genuine fear. Kloh turned to face Dex who was glaring down at Alexandre.
“Baby, please relax for me. You know I can’t handle too much of your pheromones.” Kloh mumbled as he was also surrounded by the citrus fragrance.
Unlike Alexandre, the pheromones wrapped around him, provoking his own scent. It was like a child aggressively seeking attention. It screamed at Kloh to prove that he was already taken to anyone and everyone present. It was a declaration of sovereignty. It provoked an innate mating urge in Kloh. Similar to what he had felt weeks ago when the two had first met. And with the amount of alcohol he had, his control wasn’t as strong. Instinctually he had started to release his own phone scented fragrance to combat Dex’s. The omega however ignored him, even as Klohs pheromones visibly started to affect him.
“He’s mine. You don’t get to touch him.” Dex bared his teeth at Alexandre.
“Dex, I need you to reign it in.” Kloh said through clenched teeth.
Dex looked away from Alexandre to Kloh. His eyes were cloudy with an emotion that Kloh couldn’t pinpoint. He stared at Kloh, pheromones steadily increasing. Kloh choked a bit and cursed. He turned to the crumpled omega.
“Call Davey to come get you. And don’t come back. I’m already taken.” Kloh told him then shut the door.
He turned to Dex who was still staring at him. His fingers itched and Kloh wanted nothing more than to grab Dex, cover him with his scent and mark him.
“Seriously Dex, unless you’re actively trying to get me to pin you down and fuck you until I mark you, I need you to reign it in.” Kloh gritted his teeth, taking deep breaths as he tried to not release as many pheromones.
Dex silently stared at him. But still didn’t back down. He couldn’t explain why he was acting this way. But it was like something inside of him was pressing him to do this. It partially was due to the influence of alcohol. In addition to the arrival of Alexandre. The future that he had started to plan had gotten out of reach the minute that omega touched Kloh. And something in Dex snapped. He wanted to be marked so shit like this wouldn’t happen. He wanted everyone to know he had an alpha that solely belonged to him. He wanted everyone, especially Alexandre and any little omega who tried him, to be aware that Kloh was claimed and that the owner’s name was Dex.
“Last chance Dex.” Kloh’s nostrils flared.
Dex blinked at him. He in fact had already prepared himself to be marked. He was gonna ask Kloh to do it on New Year’s. But now was fine. Now was better.
“Hey guys, not sure what’s happening here but pheromones are trickling into the living room and affecting people. So if you could just tone it down, that’d be appreciated.” Manny coughed awkwardly as he peeked out of the living room.
“Go upstairs Dex.” Kloh’s voice had reached a depth that he hadn’t realized he could reach. “Please.”
Dex looked him over, blinked once, twice then turned and went upstairs. After there was some distance between the two, Kloh exhaled deeply. He took a moment to collect himself. He turned to Manny who was trying to not look his way.
“Lee knows where all the empty rooms are for anyone who wants to stay over. Extra sheets and pillows are in the downstairs closet. All I ask is that y’all clean up after yourselves if you make a mess. And don’t get too drunk.” Kloh quickly told Manny.
“Okay. You two okay?” Manny raised a brow.
“Everything’s fine. Bye.” Kloh replied then turned and ran up the stairs.
As he got closer and closer to his room, the sweet scent of citrus filled his nostrils. Unfortunately his grandparents hadn’t installed the ventilation system for the whole house so the hallway would smell like this for a while. He marched down the hall and into his room. Instantly he smacked in the face with a wave of citrus. He hurriedly closed the door behind him to contain the scent. Dex sat on the bed with his head hung. His pheromones were pulling at Kloh, beckoning him to come closer. And he did. He walked over until he stood in front of Dex.
“Dex. Look at me.” Kloh softly requested.
Dex didn’t move for a minute. Then slowly turned his face upwards to look at Kloh. The look from earlier still clouding his face. Looking at him now, Kloh could see that he was upset. And there was still something else that he just couldnt figure out. Kloh cupped his face. He brushed Dex’s cheek with his thumb.
“What do you want me to do?” Kloh calmly asked.
Dex closed his eyes and didn’t respond for several minutes. Instead he sat, taking in Kloh’s pheromones. When he got upstairs he regained some semblance of rationality and realized he might’ve overreacted. At the same time a little part of him was egging him on. Telling him to finish what he started. It’s not like he didn’t want to. If anything he was just…….. moving the schedule forward.
“Dex?”
“Mark me.”
