The crazy old man? He does seem the most teacher-like, giving his all to lecture kids that won’t listen.
That’s my guess at the moment as well. He is certainly passionate enough to be labeled as “obsessed”. And he is trying to help but no one is listening to him. Like Cassandra from Greek mythology . Which is why he’s a ghost: so he can fulfill his obsession of helping that he didn’t happen the first time. And I suppose it’s possible he’s the true owner of the manor cause he doesn’t seem to be a villager.

My bet on ‘ghost’ is either the violinist or the ‘coward middle age man’ he is only who was described if i am not wrong ans as for owner i think it’s the crazy guy but let’s see🤓

A lot of clues in this chapter! Starlight… is it the ship? If the ship and the island “merged”, then it makes sense for the island to sink – like a ship split in half that can’t stay afloat. In that case, the number plate that MC thought was a strange house number, might actually be the room number on a ship!
I really can’t see how grabbing the number plate would help Ren Yifei at all, but he did at least find it earlier
