Translator's Note

Okay, this sentence is a bit weird. The last sentence likely refers to one of Li Shangyin’s untitled poems. There is a verse that mentions burning candles, which is often compared to teachers since teachers burn themselves to illuminate others (aka their students) by sacrificing their youth to educate others. In a sense, mothers are also the same since they are our teachers in life.

  1. Really can’t figure it out; this instance is too confusing.

Ah, Ren Yifei thinking Saman is cute… and he seems to have forgotten his name again… and I can’t determine if Saman knows Gu Xingye is Ren Yifei or not… ah.

    Thank you for the chapter.

  2. At least our cute Mr Bakery knows that the other players won’t find “Black Rabbit” if they don’t change their viewpoint xD Just watch him build sand snowmen with his kitten :3

Thx for the ch ٩( >ヮ<)۶

  3. Who is Ren Yifei talking to at the end? The companion shouldnt be Saman since they didnt go up the mountain together right?

  4. only a fei could claim that saman is “cute and comforting” and mean it smh. saman, having seen the brilliance of a fei’s performance, seems so quietly smug. it’s funny how his intuition, the thing he doesn’t put much stock in, is currently the only sense reliable enought o pick out a fei. look, he suspects gu xingye even though a fei’s performance is excellent. isn’t this true love? lol

  5. Hmm, what I can pierce so far: There were originally 3 groups of people – poor island folk, people in the manor, and rich people who were most likely on a cruise ship passing by. Something happened, and poor island folk turned into water corpse monsters, while rich people took their place and had some memories implanted into them. The people in the manor seem to know more about the situation – it is unknown whether they had been replaced, though. It seems like the event happened 3 months ago, but one woman has Christmas-themed nail polish, hinting at half a year ago at least. There is also a radio signal from a ship that seeks refuge due to horrible weather conditions.

Keeping that in mind, here is my theory:

This was an island with a common village at the bottom and a manor on a mountain. One day, a disaster struck, killing all of the villagers living on the shore. At the same time, a cruise ship nearby was looking for shelter from the natural disaster. However, there was also a supernatural entity (ghost?) that wanted villagers back. It brainwashed the cruise ship passengers and forced them to take on the roles of the villagers. Very possibly, time moves differently under the control of the entity. Now, players and “rich people” are re-living the day the villagers died. Meanwhile, the original residents are hunting their “replacements” and trying to kill them, though the reason is still unknown. The spoons in the sand are definitely from the ship, but I don’t understand why they are all the way up in the manor. Also, I have no idea why people are turning into fish, except the fact that it’s probably caused by sticky saltwater rain and/or the corpse monsters. Maybe because their corpses were eaten by fish and assimilated with the sea?Anyway, I wonder how close to the truth I got? Luckily, this arc is already translated, so I can binge all the way to the grand reveal.

  6. Saman thought he wasn’t into men and Ren Yifei is ruining that for him

Why is there a manor targeting kids in such an out-of-the-way place at all?

Thank you so much for translating! <3
