I really really REALLY dislike his family. Cutting off his allowance, refusing to give him affection and then throwing him into 3 year training to prove himself or else.
It could not be more obvious that his value to them was as an Omega and not who he was as a person. And now he has to be a ‘useful’ Alpha because he still doesn’t matter as a person to them.
