I’ve noticed a peculiar trend in a lot of translated novels… Namely, that there seem to be a remarkable number of characters with really childish ‘user names’, whether it’s a chat name or gamer name. ‘The most handsome actor in history’…. how could anyone over the age of ten actually use a name that juvenile? It creates an immediate negative opinion of the character’s maturity and intelligence.
