Master is Pretending to Love MeCh1 - Be good, come here, Shizun will give you a hug

The night was dark.

Jian Xiuyun slowly opened his eyes and found that he was sitting on a huanghuali wood chair. There were no candles lit, the only source of light being the tiny sliver of moonlight shining through the hollow carved windows, barely illuminating the room. oFLHYr

A faint aroma of sandalwood drifted in his nose, and his tensed facial features gradually relaxed.

Jian Xiuyun sat up straight, stunned. He looked around carefully, realizing that this was the clean room where he usually practiced.

But wasn’t he dead?

Or he was tortured to death. l0hKEt

Jian Xiuyun looked down at his intact body, dressed in white, and a ridiculous idea arose in his mind.

He…was reborn?!

The memories of his previous life gradually came back to him.

After his death in his previous life, he realized that he had been living in a book called The Supreme Immortal》.

BiEVtd

The story revolved around the growth and cultivation of the male protagonist. It told the story of the protagonist whose parents died when he was young and who went through countless hardships. He gradually grew up and finally took revenge and slapped everyone who bullied him. Then, he had a harem of countless beauties and became the supreme master of immortality.

Unfortunately, the protagonist of this book was the apprentice that he never liked. What was even more unfortunate was that he was the one who stood out among the male protagonist’s many hardships. He was a stumbling block on the male protagonist’s growth path and was the one who constantly made trouble for him.

In his last life, as a person who strictly cared about appearances, he always disliked the male protagonist because of the large burn marks on his face. He made things difficult for him, refused to give him a single acknowledging glance, and even dug up his golden core to make medicine for himself. Due to his suicidal behavior, his fate ended very miserably.

After the male protagonist unified the world of cultivation, he threw him in the dungeon, severed his tendons, and crippled his martial arts. Not only did he break all ten of his fingers, but also broke every bone in his body, and then hung him half alive. He was tortured in the dungeon for an entire year before he was finally let go. c6dQDI

Just when Jian Xiuyun thought he was finally free, he was actually reborn.

Jian Xiuyun thought back to his miserable ending in his last life, and decided to start over and treat the male protagonist well.

Even if I don’t like him anymore, I still have to pretend that I do.

If I can’t sell sincerity, might as well sell off my acting skills. D9dArT

After clearly arranging his future path, Jian Xiuyun stood up and decided to go out and see what time it was.

However, as he stood up, he heard a “clang”, and something fell from his hand.

Jian Xiuyun leaned over and picked up the object on the ground, taking a look at it. Illuminated by the soft moonlight, he saw that it was a small dagger.

The blade reflected the silver moonlight, emitting a cold glow. uyZi46

A dagger…the clean room…midnight…

These small fragments, pieced together, gradually looked familiar.

A flash of lightning seemed to have struck through his mind, and he remembered that in his last life, he had tied Kan Wenxiao inside a clean room on a similar night, and then used this dagger to cut open his abdomen and take out his golden core.

Kan Wenxiao was shivering from the cold, be he tightly bit his lips and didn’t’ utter a sound. BKCrvs

It seemed that screaming for help was of no use.

When Jian Xiuyun saw this, he sighed in his heart.

Kan Wenxiao was now fourteen years old, and it had been ten years since he was brought to Xuyu Peak. Before that, he had experienced countless punishments, various difficulties, and his master’s undisguised disgust.

It might be a little difficult to regain Kan Wenxiao’s favor now. mVk3QF

But from an optimistic point of view, after all, he was only fourteen years old. There were still many years before he would dominate the world of cultivation, and it is not yet the point of no return.

There should still be a chance.

Jian Xiuyun retracted his thoughts and looked at the face in front of him that had appeared in his nightmares countless times. It was so similar, yet so different.

Calming down, he suppressed the fear in his heart and stepped forward to help him untie the rope. 5eESOk

Before he got close, Kan Wenxiao shrank back and retreated, staring warily at him and the knife in his hand.

“What do you want to do?!”

The left side of his face was covered with burn marks. His vigilant expression, coupled with the darkness of the night, looked frightening.

Jian Xiuyun frowned slightly and subconsciously took a step back, wanting to stay away from him. qnf2LG

However, the next moment, a penetrating voice rang in his mind.

“Shizun, do you hate my appearance? What if Shizun becomes like this too? Will you be disgusted by yourself too?”

After the black figure finished speaking, he slowly walked to the table beside him. He held up a candlestick with his fingers and clasped his chin, letting the tongue of the flames greedily lick at his cheeks.

Even though they were separated by different time and space, the pain of the flames burning his flesh was still vivid in his mind. Jian Xiuyun suddenly raised his hand and touched his face. It was still smooth and pristine. It was just a memory. 4UReEx

No, everything that had happened before must never happen again.

With this thought in his mind, Jian Xiuyun no longer hesitated. He took a step forward and knelt down. Despite Kan Wenxiao’s struggles, he took him into his arms and raised the dagger.

Kan Wenxiao closed his eyes in defeat, bit his lips, and waited for the pain to strike.

However, all he heard was a “bang”, and then his body relaxed, falling into a warm embrace. zsO9Wm

This posture only lasted a second before he was let go.

Kan Wenxiao opened his eyes and found that the rope binding him was broken, and the dagger he thought would be stuck in his flesh was thrown aside.

Kan Wenxiao supported himself on the furnace as he stood up, looking at Jian Xiuyun with suspicion lingering in his eyes.

“What on earth does this mean?” KUwgqP

He didn’t even call him Shizun, which showed the current relationship between them.

Jian Xiuyun opened his mouth, but couldn’t think of a reasonable explanation for a while, so he simply kept silent. He pointed at the door and said lightly, “Go back and rest.”

Upon hearing the words, Kan Wenxiao’s expression didn’t relax one bit. On the contrary, it only grew more solemn.

He didn’t seem to believe that his master would let him go that easily. SYLwId

Jian Xiuyun saw him standing in a daze, not moving for a long time. He glanced at him sideways and said, “What? Want me to send you off?”

Kan Wenxiao stared at him for a long time, and saw that he really had no other intentions. Then he turned around and walked out.

Before he had taken two steps, Jian Xiuyun’s voice came from behind him, “Wait a minute.”

Kan Wenxiao stopped in his tracks, not bothering to look back. The look on his face didn’t hide his disappointment. r79Iuj

He knew Jian Xiuyun wouldn’t let him go so easily.

However, the next moment, his shoulders sank, and a warmth seeped down his skin into his limbs.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Kan Wenxiao looked down blankly and saw a pure white cloak on his body, which was obviously just taken off of Jian Xiuyun.

Having faced too much ill will from him, suddenly receiving such kindness left him feeling flustered and at a loss, not knowing whether it was genuine or not. dFZ6V7

You can only use bluff to cover yourself up.

His fingers tightly grasped the hem of the cloak, and he asked again, “What on earth does this mean?”

Jian Xiuyun looked at how he showed to be strong on the outside, and his lips curled into a faint smile. No matter how powerful he was in the future, he was still a child at this moment. He suddenly felt that his chances of winning had increased.

“The temperature has dropped, don’t freeze.” Jian Xiuyun thought of his ending in his previous life, and pretended to care about him. 5iFhxQ

Kan Wenxiao’s expression became more subtle when he heard this. He really wondered if this person was his master.

Otherwise, why would he care about him?

“No need.” Kan Wenxiao was really not used to his inexplicable kindness, so he reached out to untie the cloak.

However, as soon as he moved, his hand was held down. gQ8roa

Jian Xiuyun’s expression was indifferent, showing no emotion or anger. “It’s cold outside, If you don’t want the cloak, how about Shizun carrying you back?”

After saying that, he stretched out his arm stiffly, and held back his nausea as he said, “Be good, come here, Shizun will give you a hug.”

Kan Wenxiao was completely dumbfounded and stayed where he was, unmoving.

After standing in a daze for a long time, Kan Wenxiao came back to his senses and hurriedly rejected, “No need.” DqN6zh

Then he ran out wearing Jian Xiuyun’s cloak, as if there was a wolf chasing behind him.

When Kan Wenxiao left, the smile on Jian Xiuyun’s face fell.

It was so disgusting that he couldn’t stand it. But as a cannon fodder, what choice did he have?

Looking at Kan Wenxiao’s back that was almost running, Jian Xiuyun recalled his decisive killing in the previous life, and a trace of confusion flashed in his eyes. Was Kan Wenxiao like that when he was a child? MP19Zp

Jian Xiuyun was a person who valued appearance a lot. Because of Kan Wenxiao’s face, he usually got annoyed by looking at him more than once, so he had never really gotten close to him.

Therefore, he really had no impression of what he was like as a child. All he could recall now was the dungeon, the torture instruments, and his ferocious face.

Please support our translators at chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

The night wind blew in through the window, and Jian Xiuyun couldn’t help coughing lightly.

He was already in the Late Nascent Soul stage, but when he entered the distraction stage some time ago, he accidentally qi deviated and injured the spiritual roots in his body. LXnNao

Not only did his cultivation level fall, but his soul was also seriously injured.

At that moment, he had discovered a secret recipe in an ancient book. The golden core derived from the Fusang clan’s bloodline was used as medicine. Not only could it nourish the soul, but also possibly help him have a breakthrough in cultivation.

There was only one person with the Fuseng clan’s blood running through his veins, and that was Kan Wenxiao.

As for whether to take Kan Wenxiao’s golden core to help him break through his cultivation level, Jian Xiuyun’s decision was made with no hesitation. ty9fap

People who didn’t fend for themselves would suffer under heaven and earth.

So in his last life, he gladly took Kan Wenxiao’s golden core.

However, the male protagonist was worthy of his title.

After losing his golden core, Kan Wenxiao only mourned for a while, and then found an immortal secret book in the library. He could practice without a golden core and directly transform the spiritual energy between heaven and earth into internal power. 7kGEpn

He practiced all the way to the Mahayana stage and unified the world of cultivation.

Without Kan Wenxiao’s golden core in this life, he didn’t know how long his body would take to recover.

But even if his body always remained extremely sick, he wouldn’t complain. After all, he didn’t have the courage to take Kan Wenxiao’s golden core anymore.

As for what will happen in the future, kQphXb

Take it one step at a time.

  1. Lol it seems like the shizun deserves everything the got in his last life and this isn’t like other rebirth danmei where the reborn individual suddenly brainwashes themselves to love the ml, here the shizun still hates him😂😂 Also is it just me or is this giving SVSS vibes

  2. Hm, I like that unlike in other similar novels, the villain MC had a pretty involved relationship with ML, and has a reason for it. And this said reason doesn’t just evaporate despite being reborn. Usually the MC is either an outsider who transmigrated in, or the one he hurt was not the ML, or it was all a misunderstanding.

I don’t remember reading a novel where the previously villain MC gets a redo and the ML is the one he genuinely disliked and therefore hurt. Usually there is always a reason why their previous bad relationship can be waved away. But here he actually retains that same reason, and simply decides to act nice in spite of it, for the sake of survival.

Well, it’s an entirely another thing that I’m a huge fan of cultivation novels, more so of cultivation bl, and absolutely love shizun-disciple novels.

      • Sorry, I didn’t notice your reply. With my terrible memory, it’s hard to name novels 😅 but currently i’m reading “The male lead ran away with my ball”, if you don’t mind mpreg. Cultivation is really more of a background thing so far, it’s focused on relationships. The translation is ongoing, but the translator is hardworking and consistent.

“Loser wife’s second life” is also good. It’s also not fully translated yet, slower translation.

“Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Capture Me”, this one I honestly don’t remember much of (my memory is bad fr), but I do remember that I really wanted to reread it. So it must have been quite good.

I don’t really read non-bl cultivation, so I can’t recommend those.I’m assuming you don’t need me to recommend novels from this site 😄 nor really popular ones like SVSSS. But there are a bunch on this site.Btw, just looking around on novelupdates is a good idea, however I would take the reviews with a grain (a lot) of salt. They could be usefull if they mention things that are a hard no for you, but usually the people who leave reviews are the ones most emotional. So any negative reviews come from really pissed people, and that means that they really like to exagerate and go on rants. I even remember some novel that supposedly contained r*pe according to one commenter, who was very passionate about it, but when in the end I gave the novel a go, I honestly could not find it. So don’t be discouraged by negative reviews, if you read online for free, it’s not like you will waste money if you try the novel anyway and then drop it. Besides, something that others might find boring/frustrating/dumb/etc might be something that is really fun for you. Different tastes, afterall. I personally couldn’t even touch some really praised works, or really loved things that are dissed into oblivion.
