I bet Ming Kong manipulated Shen You or drugged him or something so that he was willing to give himself to him and that’s why he is so expressionless. 😔 Or maybe I’m completely wrong and Shen You gave himself to him for power. Or … they were in love and things went wrong somewhere along the line. Thanks for the present. 🥰

    Was this a ‘do anything to possess him’ only to break his mind instead, and now he’s scrambling to set it to rights while still being unable to let go of the ‘privileges’ he’s gotten? Or maybe the indifference is Shen You punishing him for whatever he did, so that even in moments where his emotions should come back, they don’t, because he wants his second-in-command to suffer and die for him.

    Can’t believe you handwaved all this in the book, Gallant Outlaw!~

  11. Okay now I’m inclining to that theory that Ming Kong is controlling Shen You, probably forces himself on him too, being rough to get a reaction but getting none because SY is either dead or soul broken.

    That’ll explain his “change” in personality, similarity in gait with Ming Kong, and now, the dead fish attitude when having se/x
