    • These women give women a complex.

      Honestly, one of the reasons I like BL is I get cultivation stories where the love interest is more than a pretty status symbol, a helpless plot device or an annoying bish.

  14. every female in bl novels ever. They are all just b*tches or annoying af or both. Hardly anyone can see some WELL BEHAVED AND ACTUALLY NICE women in Bl novels

    • Some have amazing demand characters. I find it easier to believe females in cultivation novels to be spooled brats bc of men fawning over them or parents spoiling them. Supposedly, female cultivators are less common bc of the intensity of cultivation in most worlds so the ones thst are there normally act high n mighty. It really is a complex.

      • Yes, indeed! I also know of some great female characters, but the issue arises when this type of character appears repeatedly in the story; it starts to feel like the same girl is just being portrayed with a different face, which makes it all seem so cliché.

        This kind of thing happens so often in most lengthy novels with a cultivation setting that it starts to become annoying. I understand that they might be spoiled, but how is everyone like that? As cultivators, shouldn’t they learn some form of restraint? At that time when I wrote this comment, I was really into BL cultivation novels, and I noticed that when there aren’t any real villains with a legitimate plan, they just create female characters who are really annoying s o that the story goes on. Not always, but mostly. So personally, I think to be high and mighty, they shouldn’t just portray female characters who have evil intentions and are jealous, and so on.

        • Who should they portray then if it’s most commonly the female cultivators that become the way? There’s some guys who are like that too bc they are from big families just like there are some smart girls but you see it less often for the reasons I said before. They may be cultivators but they are still too used to gettin their way around the family n other guys who want to please them/their family. The most common unspoiled ones are from small families or are rogue cultivators used to relying on themselves. If the books show more if those then wed see some variety but all in all big family cultivators are spoiled. Dont let the guys fool you. They are the same but hide behind the girls letting them take the flak almost like good cop bad cop.

  20. Viendo como hay comentarios misoginos parece que el autor ha creado específicamente a todos o casi todos los personajes femeninos malvados, astutos, crueles y celosos. Una tónica en muchos autores, pero demasiado triste en muchos lectores.

    • I want to see it the other way around or just brothers with one being annoying but I explained above in a diff reply why I’m not surprised at how the girls are portrayed.
